The Chi Center

Mingtong Gu has created an awesome Wisdom Healing Qigong program. I just spent an inspiring nine days at a retreat immersed in this Qigong Practice. I found the teacher, The Chi Center founder Mingtong, to be a true Master at his craft. He was consistently loving, full of humor, and presence. Each of the teachers brought a richness to the practice. Every day we were supported and challenged. Beyond the retreat he has crafted an online school for support and growth. Truly worth every penny and moment of my time. I am now pain free in my lower back. I injured my coccyx when I fell down some stairs in 2006. Now it is gone. In will practice this qigong the rest of my life. It truly is wisdom healing.

The in person teachings with Mingtong, Lingling and Ma are exceptional. We recommend attending teachings in person.
The two star is for «Sally» who in my opinion was very unprofessional, rude, ill-​mannered. seemingly hostile.
On Sept. 9 we purchased by credit card, books, DVD’s, CD’s, private sessions and Practitioner Program. We received copy of form we filled out but no receipt with transaction number for the charges by The Chi Center. On Sept. 21^st there was continuous difficulty with the live-​stream video included in the Practitioner Program. The audio cut off and was also inaudible many times. The live stream was blurred many times so teaching could not be viewed. We then had difficulty with receiving the Practitioner Program Class Room. I emailed and worked with tech to fix so we could receive. There were too many problems so we cancelled. We then had difficulty with receiving requested refund that was to be credited to our account Oct.7. Sally could not find transaction number and wanted our credit card company and I to give her their transaction number which we do not have. Subsequently I researched with PayPal The Chi Centers chosen account and it is made clear that it is the clients (The Chi Center in this case) responsibility to call or email PayPal if they can not find information on transactions through their account. We finally received a check Oct. 23.
We just played Disc One «Haola & La Chi with Kai Hui» it skipped and cut off sound.

I have a pretty sensitive BS barometer. I’ve been to tai chi and chi gong classes and attended meditation classes and usually was turned off by teachers who I felt did not walk the talk and came off as being inauthentic and phony (okay, maybe my bs barometer is too sensitive…)
I first saw Mingtong Gu at Spirit Rock meditation center in Woodacre. I was desperately seeking a way to manage a disorder I have that causes unexpected and unpredictable vertigo spells and was reaching the end of my rope.
As I was sitting waiting for the workshop to begin, Mingtong appeared next to me and flashed me a bright, genuine smile. I found it hard to believe this was the «grand master», but as he took the stage and began to speak, I saw that in fact he was all he had been described to be and more. I was blown away, not so much by the practice, but by Mingtong’s presence, his sense of humor, his joy, his patience, and an inner beauty that is infectious. His wife Lingling is equally gifted, and together they have brought a wonderfully powerful healing practice to the Bay Area and beyond.
After my two day workshop at Spirit Rock, I signed up for a 12 day retreat in Santa Rosa. I had never been on a retreat before and have never been serious about any practice. I’m basically a slug and would rather watch Real Housewives of New Jersey than dedicate myself to a regular practice of anything. Yet, I was infected by the enthusiasm that Mingtong brings to his teachings. I have made a commitment to doing 3 hours of practice every day, but find myself doing more, as practice involves not only physical exercise, but also visualizations, sound healing, and listening to CDs of Mingtong and Lingling.
I feel happier and more grounded than I have ever felt in my life. I have not had a vertigo attack in two weeks and am confident that through this practice I will find total health and wholeness.
If you are dealing with a terminal or incurable illness, I highly recommend signing up for one of Mingtong’s intensive retreats where you will find a practice and a community of support that will change your life. However, even if you feel you are healthy, I still recommend doing one of his retreats. You will find wisdom and healing and access to an unlimited source of energy and joy.
I can only give Mingtong 5 stars because that is the maximum, but he actually deserves a Milky Way full of stars.

I began with a basic workshop with Master Mingtong Gu. I had dealt with a totally disabling disease for more than 15 years. After the workshop I began a daily practice and then attended 2 advanced workshops. This was all begun in June of 2009, by October of last year all symptoms of my disease left and have never returned. This the most powerful, healing and opening practices I have ever encountered. There is a saying that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Mingong and his wife Linling are dedicated and honest. Qigong will be part of my life forever.
