Sjaak’s Organic Chocolates

Although Sjaak’s is wonderful, especially for vegan chocolate options, I feel someone should mention that you can’t buy chocolate at this location.
This is just an office building! Don’t waste precious time coming here in search of chocolate… like I did :(

Vegan chocolate — great alternative to See’s. No I’m not vegan — but I love these!
Are you a chocolate connoisseur? Or just simply fond of good chocolate like me? Well, this place meets all of my chocolate requirements [vegan not being one of them] — so I’m sharing.
MY IDEAL CHOCOLATE MORSEL IS:
(1) Free Trade — I can’t claim ignorance here because I know the chocolate industry is still largely slave based
(2) Organic — I no longer require chemicals in my candy
(3) Local — Petaluma love
(4) Sustainable production/​Environmentally Friendly — I dread the day we are forced to drink toilet water due to our irresponsibility
(5) Pretty packaging — until I go blind, which may not be long now, I’m eating with my eyes first
(6) Sweet, smooth, and creamy chocolate — with a range of fillings.
FAVORITES
(1) peanut butter bite (2) hazelnut butter (3) almond butter. Do you like your chocolate with mint, orange, raspberry, or pb? I have a soft spot for peanut butter but let’s face it, it’s a low quality nut, in terms of fat and protein. I’m a freak for alternative butters and these people definitely know how to cream a nut and make it into a yummy filling!

TIP: I recommend this chocolate for dark chocolate lovers and nutty butter lovers who appreciate quality.

Love chocolate? Keep it local! Sjaak’s makes fantastic organic, free-​trade chocolate — they have many many vegan options.
The Eli’s candy bar line is vegan and ridiculously delicious. I also love the dark chocolate toffee and the vegan caramel filled chocolate bar. I just wish that they had a company store in Petaluma so I could pop in when in the neighborhood to buy lots of chocolate.

That would be dangerous. Better stick with ordering from their website — which is fantastic, btw, as is their customer service. And their chocolates are DIVINE! I can’t say that too many times, can I?

These people have truly awesome online customer service. I was having trouble with an Easter delivery, and their shipping department went out of their way to deal with a recalcitrant UPS, with many many phone calls on my behalf to try to solve the problem.

I picked up some of their Halloween chocolates from Rainbow Grocery recently. They were nicely wrapped in shiny orange foil and molded into pretty flower shapes. Great tasting dark chocolate outside and orange flavored yumminess inside.
