Description

Specialties

I adopt a primarily strength-based approach to psychotherapy and believe that each one of us has the innate desire and wherewithal to develop to our full potential. Many times this desire is blocked by hindrances like negative self-talk, unhealthy coping patterns and old habits from childhood that have lost their usefulness. I provide a warm and supportive environment to help clients in their journey to overcoming these obstacles, while validating, guiding and challenging them in a compassionate manner.

My area of expertise includes working with ethnic and immigrant population and addressing issues related to couples in inter-racial marriages, struggles with cultural assimilation and family relationship dynamics. I speak 5 languages and I am keenly aware of the specific issues faced by Indian-Americans in particular and Asian Americans and Latinos in general.

I also provide online therapy via Skype and phone therapy in addition to face-to-face counseling.
