Welcome to Engineering For Kids!

Inspiring the next generation of engineers!

Engineering For Kids brings science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), to kids ages 4 to 14 in a fun and challenging way through classes, camps, clubs, and parties. We are proud to inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-​on learning. Engineering is, after all, one of the fastest growing industries in the world!

History

Established in 2014.

Engineering for Kids comes from the mind of educator Dori Roberts. With an extensive educational background in math and technology education, Roberts taught engineering at the high school level for 11 years. During her teaching career, she saw a dire need for math, science and engineering programs. To fill this void, she started an afterschool club that participated in various engineering and science-​based competitions.

After membership hit 180 students and the group won multiple state championships, she decided to tailor the program and apply it to a wider age demographic. With the extremely positive response she received from parents and administrators, Roberts saw a great business opportunity, leaving the teaching profession and devoting 100 percent of her time to developing the Engineering for Kids program.

Tom and Yolanda W.

Business Owner

Tom is the Program Director of Engineering® for Kids North Bay. In a previous life before becoming an attorney, Thomas was a program manager, training manager and eventually Director at Space Camp® California. He has had a life long passion for learning and providing hands-​on educational opportunities for children. He grew up around aircraft his entire childhood and spent his days building model aircraft, rockets and anything else that could GO! That led to a fascination with America’s space program and to a life long love of all things engineering.

Yolanda is the Marketing Director of Engineering® for Kids North Bay. As a dentist, Yolanda spent her time in undergraduate studies immersed in science before attending and graduating from dental school. While a practicing dentist, Yolanda was also faculty at the UC San Francisco and University of the Pacific dental schools. In her private practice, she offers community outreach programs that provides dentistry to underserved children as w
