Calvary Chapel Petaluma

New to area and always look for three pillars in settling on a church «home»: teaching, fellowship, and worship. We have been thrilled that CCP delivers on all three with passion, sincerity, and transparency. Our two-​year-​old twins also look forward to going on Sundays and my wife and I are fully enjoying the mid-​week studies we’ve become involved in. Go God!

After two Sunday morning visits, we can’t wait to return. The messages are challenging and directly from The Word. Both pastors (Zach and the youth pastor) dove deep into The Word and challenged us to live it out! The worship is warm, inviting, and all about God’s love and grace. After the message the deacons came up to pray for those who desired prayer. A friendly gal introduced herself and explained about the various programs. We also attended the Sunday night service where communion is served and worship is extended. — This is the way God intended church to be!

I visited here last Sunday while passing through Petaluma on a road trip heading further north. The church is easy to find located in an industrial area off of Lakeville Highway, which is off of Highway 101.
A little before 9AM, the parking lot by the front entrance was full so I parked in the back behind some other buildings. When I entered I was greeted by someone with a badge that said deacon. I followed others in the direction of the sanctuary since the service was about to start.
There were several songs performed by the worship team, someone read the announcements and then Pastor Zach gave his message that came from Luke 24 about why there is joy in the ascension of Christ .
Towards the end of the message, Pastor Zach asked the congregation to examine their lives in light of God’s word, and answer the question if they believe Jesus is alive, which gave everyone something to reflect on.

Pastor Zack of Calvary Chapel is a real man of God who imparts the Word in an easily understandable way. He can hit home when he needs to, of course, but usually does so in a humble way with personal examples with which we can all relate.
I have an eleven-​year old who loves the services and asks to go! They have a fabulous group for the Sunday evening services called «Band of Brothers.» I highly recommend it to anyone with boys this age.
I empathized with the earlier reviewers feeling of lack of hospitality, but wondered what type of vibe he must be putting out to be neither greeted nor spoken to by the wonderful people of this church. I’ve been going to Calvary Petaluma for several years and, while not being overwhelmed by arm-​pumpers, have felt the spirit to be very congenial without being «in my face.»
I realize that all of us must find a personal fit in a church and just keep «church-​hopping» until you do. As for me, I’ll keep going here. Thank you very much!

Excellent message, top notch involvement by pastor zack, nice people and four star child care. No problems. The big guy is definately smiling on this place.

Calvary Petaluma has a young pastor, 27, (looks 17) but when he delivers a message on a Sunday, you wonder how someone so young could know so much, or be so wise. The Worship is wonderful, the fellowship is friendly and attentive. Sunday school and Nursery are very well operated, with security background checks are done on all volunteers. They have a both jr. high and High school youth groups, which are very active, and well taught. The College and career group is also in full swing weekly. The young married couples meet twice a month, and there are many home fellowships to get to know each other on a personal level.
Emphasis is on he word of GOD, and worship, and prayer.
If you are looking for a place to fellowship… 9 am & 11:00 am Sun mornings as well as many other times!
