History

Established in 1988.

Architectural Design & Restoration, Inc. (ADR) was established in 1988 in the historic Sonoma County town of Petaluma by Licensed Architects Church Hildreth and Rick Brereton. We rehabilitated our office, the Ellis-​Martin house, back to its former glory, and it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Richard graduated with honors from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo in 1979. In 1982 he moved to Marin County and began work at Lucasfilm at Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio. He was initially involved with construction drawings and detailing but later expanded his duties to include code research, project administration, budget analysis, planning and building permit approval process and construction administration.

Since forming the partnership at ADR in 1988 his duties have continued to expand into contract administration, office management, public relations and code analysis. His areas of concentration at ADR are design, client administration, code interpretation, quality control, structural engineering and administration of permits and planning.
