Established in 1987.

Brenda’s Golden Stitch has been happily serving the North Bay from its Petaluma location since 1987.

With over thirty years of experience in custom-​made designs and alterations that range from simply replacing buttons to turning a size 18 dress into a size 6 and vice-​versa, we have acquired quite a legion of fans along the way.

An equal opportunity alterationer, Brenda’s Golden Stitch has helped soccer moms and policemen, chairmen of boards and actresses, nurses and teachers, cashiers and realtors, children, teens, seniors, and on many occasions even pets (in dire need of Halloween costume alterations)!

Prior to opening Alterations Brenda’s Golden Stitch in 1987, Brenda Barahona had been sewing for many years and taught at a top dressmaking and design academy. Brenda has a passion for sewing and a love for people; that is why her customers just keep returning year after year. It’s not rare for people to come get their wedding dress done and then have children who need first first communion dresses, then prom, then wedding and then the cycle starts all over again. Brenda and her team serve multiple generations of families in the whole Bay Area.
