This was a good restaurant experience and great food, I would give it 4 ½ if that was allowed. The chips were surprisingly good, and I’m usually not into chips. My sandwich and waffle fries were of above average quality. Planning to go again soon

Ahhh. The Pickle Factory, where it always feels like summer! Beautiful location, fun atmosphere, and good food! The service is fast, almost too fast! We were halfway through a first drink when our food arrived. The only problem I had was that our appetizer arrived with our meals. I wish we would have ordered our appetizer first, waited for that to come, and then ordered our meals. We’ll definitely be back, though!

The Pickle Factory is a classic dinner destination on Lake Pepin. On this particular occasion, I enjoyed the fresh, tender, tasty all-you-can-eat chicken wings(the special). Service was prompt and friendly and I left stuffed and with leftovers. The server even went the extra mile to bring me my extra leftovers when I forgot them at the table. Boat or drive on in for a tasty treat!

Food was great! Loves the variety of options for sandwiches, burgers, wraps and sides. Decent atmosphere. Wish they kept the downstairs open for more outdoor seating, but overall great food!

Went for a Sunday drive and stopped here for dinner. Very good food. Nothing real fancy or ostentatious. Great burger, fixed perfectly and the fries were very good. My husband had the Reuben and he said it was very good. Ordered the fried pickles and they were actually fried pickle spears. They were really really good. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We will most definitely come back.

Went here for lunch during the Spring Flood Run, was busy but not nearly as crazy as other places along the route. Decent service, good choices, good drink specials, food was nothing amazing but good. Would come back, can’t beat the view!

It’s alright be me. Not special, not horrible. As three as three gets. Growing up pre-Yelp my family had our own restaurant rating system which is pretty similar to Unilocal’s. A one was for a place that you would never go back to. A two was for a place you would go back to only if you were with someone who wanted to go there. A three was for a place that you would gladly go back to, but not go out of your way for. A four was for a place that you would drive across a city or metropolis just to go to. Fives were for those places that you would drive a couple hundred miles out of the way just to eat at. The Pickle Factory is a definite three for me; it was A-OK — I would go back if driving past Pepin on 35 sometime in the future. Got the cheese curds for an appetizer. I’ve had better at the State Fair and a couple of restaurants in the Cities, but these were completely adequate. For my entrée, I got the Hawaiian Chicken sandwich. It was acceptable enough. It could have used some type of sauce or garnish to spice it up a bit. The Pickle Factory name is a little misleading. They do have deep fried pickles on the menu, but I would not say that pickles are their specialty in any way. I’ve had better pickles from a jar bought from the grocery store than the one that came with my sandwich. They call themselves the Pickle Factory because the building that they are in used to be an actual pickle canning factory back in the day. The setting on the Mississippi River is quite pleasant, especially in late May before the mosquitoes are out in full force. Four for the setting. Three on everything else. Might be a better place for the pause that refreshes(drinks and appetizers) rather than a full meal.

After the first day of fishing, having dinner here is standard protocol for my family. We had deep fried onions for appetizer. It was served with ranch dressing. Pretty yummy. I ordered the deep fried fish sandwich. The fish was very good. It was not properly presented. The lettuce was soaked in oil. The sandwich was below average. Cold Leinie’s were awesome.

This place has the best view in town. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. The food was just OK, but everything else made up for it. Prices were reasonable too.

if you are a boater in MN/WI chances are you have heard of this place or been to this place — -it has always been talked about like it is the greatest place ever… I have heard the hype about the hamburgers and bloody mary’s…This place does nothing for me as it doesn’t live up to my expectations. It is fun to have a destination to boat to that has a dock and to get out and enjoy a drink and a burger… This place is expensive for what they are. One of my friends ordered a «jumbo» margarita and it was 20.00…That would be fine if this was in a big city and considered a classy dinning establishment — -but you are getting boaters and locals from small towns… The food wasn’t memorable either… my suggestion is to dock and head up the street there is a cute little hippie looking bar where they play folk music some nights and people are just chill and enjoying life…

The food was not bad, pretty typical bar food. The barbecue ribs tasted good, and the service was reasonably good given that our server appeared to be taking care of all of the tables on the outdoor balcony by herself, which seemed like a bit much for one person. She was friendly and did well to replenish drinks and bring the food quickly. We had a nice, evening sunset view of the lake. On the shore, which is only about 30 yards from the restaurant, there was a powerful smell of fuel from the boats. However the wind was blowing in a favorable direction and on the balcony of the restaurant(outside) there was no fuel smell. It was a pleasant evening, I’d be happy to give 3.5 stars if that was an option but I have to go with 3.

Great food, great location. Very accommodating to our unannounced group of seven. We had a view of Lake Pepin just at sunset.

Grab a beer overlooking the breakwater and marina. Have an appetizer. Watch chumos(chunky monkeys) complain about the heat, the sun, the flies. It’s okay, but it is bar fare. The staff is very friendly., however. We ordered the pizza. Their trick is to dump a full package of mozarella cheese onto the pizza. It’s not nuanced, but it is filling.

Pickles with every dish! Usually crowded as this is a regular stop for boaters and motorcyclists, so plan on a wait with a cold beer. Family friendly, it is my daughter’s favorite restaurant on Lake Pepin and a must stop at during the Laura Ingall’s Wilder Days. The view is the best from a restaurant on Lake Pepin. They have a dock, but it seems to be full, so bring your anchor.
