We specialize in difficult contact lens fittings (Keratoconus, Post Refractive complications, Bifocal, Astigmatism, Jupiter Scleral Lens, CRT, and many others. We also diagnose and treat eye disease, and have emergency visiting hours if necessary.

The practice has a beautiful tropical looking Optical Dispensery full of the most contemporary frame products. Our Sunglass lines are Maui Jim, Callaways, Serengetti, and more.

As a privately owned practice we control our patient flow and give plenty of time to each individual person. We especially work hard at our first time contact lens wearers if they are struggling. We never give up until they do. No CL patient left behind is our motto. Having patience with the patients is the key.

History

Established in 2003.

Wilson Eyecare Center was established in December 2003. Dr. s Jim and Robin Wilson are the co-​owners of the practice. The Dr. s Wilson have worked in the fields of private practice optometry and ophthalmology for the past 25 years and now have their own private practice. They have created close relationships with ophthalmologists in the area and also confer with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Corneal Clinics for very difficult cases. The Dr. s Wilson live close to their office and will see you in case of emergency at any time. If immediate referral is necessary they will get you right in. In office emergencys are taken care of on the spot.

Dr. James P. Wilson has practiced Optometry for the past twenty five years, graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago, Illinois, in 1984; growing up in the Detroit, Michigan, suburbs; attended Oakland University (B.A. «80») in Rochester, Michigan. He met his wife, Dr. Robin C. Wilson, in graduate school and moved to the Peoria area in 1986.

In the times since graduation he has worked mostly in two Ophthalmology practices in the Pekin and Peoria, Illinois, area. Wilson Eye Care Center was started in December of 2003. His wife, Dr. Robin, was the first to start the practice with Dr. James Wilson joining in January of 2008. The Doctors Wilson have two children, Zachary, 23, a Chiropractor graduate student, and Brooke, 20, a sophomore in college, studying to be a Physician’s Assistant.

Dr. James P. Wilson’s hobbies include biking, cooking, motorcycling, photography, gardening, golfing, tennis and hunting.
