The Covered Window

We met James at the Home Show in July and he was extremely friendly and provided a lot of great information as we weren’t sure what we wanted for our new home.
We called James for a free in home estimate and he arrived on-​time, was very professional and even helped us pick out a less expensive option that met our needs. His honesty about what products would be best for our lifestyle even at the lower cost was MUCH appreciated. He was able to explain the pros and cons of wood vs faux wood and helped us make an informed decision.
We got the blinds installed tonight after only a little over a week turn-​around. The blinds came in sooner than expected and James got us on the schedule right away for install. Everything went really smoothly and the blinds look fantastic!

I would highly recommend TCW to any of my friends or family looking for window coverings. James and Kelli make a great team. Kelli was super responsive when I had questions, and James knew more than I could’ve ever thought to ask about our window coverings.
I requested quotes from about 5 different vendors, and at the end of the day, I chose them because of how helpful and friendly they were. So many of the places I talked with made it feel like my order was just job number X. Kelli got me a fairly complicated quote (we had some odd window sizes and special requests for a few windows) within the hour, and James worked with us on payment as we were closing on our first house while he had to place the order. He and his son covered the windows in our house in under an hour, if I had to guess. Super efficient install. I even joked with him about wanting to get some better bulbs in our stairwell chandelier (I’m super afraid of heights), and he volunteered to put them in for me while he was putting blinds up in that area. Little things like that tell me I chose the right team.
Their pricing was competitive, and the quality of the product is great. But at the end of the day, I wanted to work with great people that are passionate about their product and customer experience — and that’s why I chose The Covered Window for our house!

I am impressed! We bought a bank owned home with missing wood valances to nice wood blinds that were already installed. I happened to find the purchase receipt from 2007. I called The Covered Window to see if by some chance they could order replacement valences. They still had the purchase on file! Ordered them and a week later, James Johnson, the owner of the company, came out to install. He also repaired the four blinds in my nook as someone had pulled out some of the cords. I will not hesitate to call The Covered Window in the future for ANY window coverings or window screens we may need. Fantastic customer service and a very nice man.

We called to schedule an appraisal and they were able to stop by our house and measure before it was even done being built. Shutters went into production and were finished within 4 weeks, just about a week after our house closed.
The appraisal and installation were great. The prices were very reasonable, especially in comparison to other suppliers in the valley. All our windows (18 total) cost $ 5,000 (which I was surprised by, as some of our windows are fairly large).
The only downside is the time it takes to install… The installer was here from 8am until about 7pm the same day. I would imagine any shutter installation would be time consuming, however.

We had the Covered Window come out a few weeks back… we were given a few options for a sliding glass door and windows in our family room. We went ahead with the order and about a week later they came out and installed everything. Very good customer service, very responsive local company with very fair prices. We would highly recommend the Covered Window!

Update: 3 years later and the blinds that The Covered Window installed are in great shape! No warping even with direct sunlight, no fading, and all the parts function great. A+ company and product.

My husband and I had finally decided that after 3 ½ years in our new home that we needed to invest in blinds. A friend of ours had recently purchased blinds for his new home and due to his strong opinion on lots of thigs, I thought he would be the best consultant for this. When asking if he liked his blinds and if he was happy with the service he received, he couldn’t say enough about how wonderful TCW is. So, I decided that I would give ‘em a shot.
I found a web coupon for a great discount and scheduled our appointment. Someone was out within a couple of days to measure and give an estimate. He gave us lots of options and helped us pick what was going to be the best for our family. We ended up ordering 2″ faux wood blinds with the tight close and upgraded valance. It took about 2 weeks for them to be made and they were installed in the blink of an eye. I think all 13 windows took an hour for installation and he did such a great job.
We are very happy with the quality of the faux wood, the time it took to complete and install as well as the customer service we received. We would recommend TCW a million times.

I agree! We worked with James Johnson, from the Peoria, AZ, store at our new home and he was friendly and straight forward. Gave us some great new ideas and pointed out some disadvantages we had overlooked. When his competitors came in they showed us only the top end of their line, and again The Covered Window beat their price substantially.
