History

Established in 1974.

Kidder Music Service, Inc. (originally named Byerly School Service) was founded in 1974 by James E. Kidder and Floride Kidder as a school band instrument service company and originally was located at 222 SW Adams St. in Peoria, Illinois. After having spent several years as a band director in Central Illinois, Jim Kidder worked as a road salesman for Byerly Music before founding Kidder Music.

Since our inception, we have continued to grow, carrying a full line of band and orchestra instruments, accessories, sheet music, and repair services. We now operate locations in Peoria, Bloomington, and Sterling, offering instrument rentals and sales, sheet music, repair service, and music education programs.
