Harkins Theatres Park West 14

I’m from Texas and would love to see this chain come to San Antonio. Good prices and their loyalty cup/​t-​shirt deal is half what is offered by one chain, of two theaters, we have. Very clean and cleaned on a constant basis. Very respectful employees. Beyond comfortable seating. I just loved it all.

I love this particular Harkins, it’s always clean and in a great location. To me there seems to be less annoying preteens and high schoolers hanging outside… which is nice for date night.

Once a in awhile you’ll deal with the occasional annoying people that love to talk during the movie or kick the back of your seat. Management however will give you a re entrance pass if you take your concerns up to the customer service desk which I had to do when me and my gf went to see the hungar games. Nonetheless, clean theater and staff is always friendly. I’ve seen hundred’s of movies here and it’s my go to theater on the west side.

Holy Dinosaur World!!! It it even more amazing than I thought it would be! Definitely a must see!

This place is okay! We are close to west gate & they have a theatre so not many people come to this one it seems. It’s clean! Just a little small.

Horrible management. Jurassic world was sold out at 3pm, no big deal… it is opening week. Our family and other ethical citizens wait patiently in the delegated line for the 430 showing. A big Hispanic man 20 min before they open the theater comes up complaining about starting in a line to management… Mind you he is wearing clear gang paraphernalia. So what does the manager do? Lets the man and his entourage cut to the front of the line of about 60 people who like us were waiting for almost an hour. Kudos Harkins management way to give in to intimidation and I am so glad that a man using explicits is just given what he wants. Great values. Awesome standards. How about trying to move him… descalation or calling authorities. You pleased someone who was cursing, threatening, and not following rules while showing those of us that are patient and respectful that if you complain and are rude enough… harkins will just bend over. Stellar. You deserve a gold star! the movie was okay… restrooms clean… but snack bar employees that can only do one task at a time, so that was irritating. Also it was an over filled theater… Turing people away with tickets… poor planning. This experience reminded me why I rarely come to the movies. It is safer and more enjoyable at home. Thank you for the experience it will save me a lot of money in the near future… it all comes down to customer service and how you respond to situations. I am not the only person I am sure who feels this way after today.

Great Location. That is until the Goodyear theater is built… lots of parking, great places to eat surrounding it. Always clean. I just keep coming back…

Went there last night to watch the avengers and this theatre is da BOMB! Leather fully reclining seats the arm rest in the middle comes up its almost like a bed its crazy!!! We were both so excited to see this movie and when we saw the renovations they have done its amazing. Pretty sure I wont go anywhere else now. Seriously kicked ass.

Love this harkins. It’s usally cleaner than most theaters. good staff and seats aren’t in bad shape.

Oh Harkins Park West, how I love thee.
My family considers watching films to be one of our bonding experiences. I don’t camp and my four boys don’t like getting their nails done, so our options are limited. So to the movies we go!
We live in Surprise and literally pass Digiplex on our way to Harkins. We ignore the AMC at the much nicer mall in Glendale. Nope. It’s only this theater for these people.
Why? Because it keeps movies FUN and affordable. Harkins wants customers to enjoy their experience and so they make it reasonable.
We purchase the popcorn shirt every year for $ 20. That makes popcorn free for the rest of the year. It pays for itself in four visits. For a small fee we can upgrade it to an extra large and get the free refill. We also buy the souvenir cups which pay for themselves in two visits. So if we do the math, my family of six can get full concession for only $ 11. That is CRAZYTALK.
If you make the matinée, you also get a price break. Last week, we watched a film and it cost $ 39 for all of us purchase tickets. So $ 50 for a family of six to see a new release movie and have large sodas and popcorn! I cannot do that anywhere else.
The concession here has popcorn powders and self service for the necter of the gawds, butter flavored popcorn oil grease stuff. I literally leave a trail from the machine to my seat. I am 12 trapped in a 45YO mom body.
At the end of every film, there are lovely young people paid to be pleasant to you and take your trash. I think every business needs this model. I tried to get my teen a job here but the competition must be enormous. I have to pay for him to be pleasant all by myself.
On the rare occasions that I have had an issue, they are quick to resolve things to my satisfaction. I once misread the movie listing app and showed for a movie that had been discontinued and they offered me free tickets. Couldn’t take them but I was impressed. I would rather we ignore my lack of reading comprehension than reward it.
Consequently, we have great feelers for Dan Harkins. Two years ago, I requested a donation from the company for my PTO event and they have us a framed print of a Twilight guy and four tickets. When my husband returned from picking them up he said that the building was filled with people collecting donations and he was really touched to see how much the company pours into the community.
So there you have it, why we are a Harkins family.

My favorite Harkins by far, not as crowded as most other locations and Park West is always a nice place to walk, especially during the holidays!

Not only does this theater play the current, popular movies, but it is in a great location with plenty of parking, nearby areas to eat or hang out before and after the movie, and close to the freeway.
The staff is always nice and their concessions has variety and they keep enough staff on hand to minimize the wait time on the long lines (lots of us regulars have loyalty cups and/​or tee shirts for excellent pricing on soda and popcorn). Not only do they have matinée pricing for the early shows; they additionally offer discounted tickets with valid ID for seniors and students. The staff works hard to keep both interior and exterior clean and the floor is never sticky or gross (major plus!). Even the restrooms are well kept. Comfortable seating and successful line management for those extremely popular new releases makes the experience here complete.
Extra bonus… I had dropped my wallet in one of the theaters and it was promptly discovered and returned to the customer service by an employee, relieving me from the stress that would have definitely followed. So thankful and appreciative, but I would have written an excellent review of Harkins anyway, based on how awesome this chain in!

Nice theatre located in a shopping area. It has early shows which is convenient for us.

This was probably the 3^rd time I came here. Also, my step dad comes here all the time. The service is alright the staff could have a lot better customer service.
The staff seemed preoccupied with side conversations. The concession area wasnt packed but because the side conversations and the constant wiping of the counters made it extremely hard to actually make it to the movie on time.
The theater was not fully clean when we went in, I got gum on my pants. These kids snuck in from the exit which made it hard and there was constant walking around by the staff and the kids were moving around.

Absolutely the worst Harkin’s Theatre I’ve ever been to. My first encounter with their poor customer service representatives was when my phone had had accidentally been left at their theatre. Calling prior hand, they said it was alright that I come get my phone even though their theatre was closing, so I immediately rushed over. When I had arrived, their were people behind the doors cleaning and walking around as I sat there for 30 minutes knocking and trying to get them to answer, just so I could have my phone back. They continued to ignore me, so I’m already unsatisfied with their lack of communication and effort to help me out.
The second occasion I’ve been to this theatre was today… and it will absolutely be my last! After purchasing our tickets, 15 minutes before the movie started, my husband and I waited at the concession for 20 minutes in 1 line while customers, not even standing in line, where called over to order before us. Frustrated as can be, when I finally got to the counter 25 minutes later, I asked the inconsiderate employee behind the counter if she could hurry up and that she had been wasting my time cleaning up pointless messes instead of getting my order. She smiled and looked around me at other customers giggling as I’m handing her my rewards cup. She is still not attending or paying attention to what I’m asking her… She gives me a sarcastic attitude and asks me to taste the Dr. Pepper (clearly the only thin I wanted!) in case i might not like it… Still wasting my time… Then asks me if I want nachos or anything else… Still wasting my time! I tell her NO and to hurry up and give me my drink, so then I hand her a 5.00 $! She puts the whole thing in her drawer and says «have a nice day» once again smiling and being sarcastic! I tell her she needs to give me my change! Um. I’m sorry, since when did refills cost 5.00 $ instead of 1.50 $! She says «whoops, (with a smirk) let me get my TL,» and then giggles again. Clearly wasting my time! Her TL comes over already giving me attitude because this inconsiderate, unknowledgeable, and retarded employee can’t do basic math skills, and tells me he will handle her later. I told him that he should because she is being extremely disrespectful, but he retaliates back and has the nerve to tell ME, the CUSTOMER that I’m being the disrespectful one. I then ask for my money so I can leave because of his pompous, gay-​like attitude, so he shoves the cash in my hand and slams the change onto my drink. Message to BBB: send someone on this business immediately! They need to fire quite a few people!

Godzilla was awesome, this Harkins Theaters was very busy, more than normal or maybe because its the weekend. Either way we enjoyed our movie and the staffs are friendly and theater was very clean and well taken care of. No trash on the floor and everything was just great.

How have I never reviewed my favorite movie theater in the valley yet?! My husband and I are ultra movie buffs and go to the movies often. I despise AMC theaters out here, because I swear to you, their seats are super uncomfortable vs. Harkins (I have a bad back, so I’m a bit picky). We don’t like the UltraStar in Surprise because it is a bit cramped.
Not only is Harkins a local theatre… and I feel great about supporting it each time we go, but… stick with me here… they are the only theatre that has the popcorn flavor toppers! I never used to eat movie theatre popcorn and chose candy instead. But there’s no way I can go without getting popcorn so I can cover it with the white cheddar flavor… but I digress. I’m supposed to be reviewing the Park West location.
We used to go to the Palm Pavilion theatre off of the 101 and McDowell, but it is OVERRUN by teenagers at all hours of the day (except maybe the first showing of the day). The parking there is a bit of a pain in the rear. So, we stumbled upon Park West when it first opened and never hesitate to go there first. Even on opening night, the theater isn’t as packed with teenagers and unruly kids. We do tend to go on Saturday or Sunday mornings and still avoid evening shows. The other day we went to the very first showing at 9:55 and it was glorious to have the parking lot and the theater almost all to ourselves!
I almost hate advertising these things I love about PW because I don’t want too many people realizing it is so fantastic. As long as the unruly teenagers and kids stay away, I’ll be totally cool with that!

I LOVE THIS THEATER!
It’s usually not that busy (we went on New Year’s Day so it was a bit more busy than usual), but still beats other locations that are overrun with attitude filled teenagers! It’s also kept very clean!
Outdoor ticket kiosks are great so you can avoid the indecisiveness of some patrons. Push a few buttons, slide your card, grab your ticket and go!
They had PLENTY of lines open at concession and were filling orders very quickly and with a smile on their faces.
Popcorn is the bomb and of course they have FREE seasonings! Yes… FREE!
The only thing I will say is starting this year… loyalty cup refills are now going to be $ 1.50 as opposed to $ 1. It’s okay… better than paying $ 4.00 a visit! I love how the staff is always waiting to clean the theater as soon as the movie is over and they thank you for coming and are just happy and seem to really like their jobs!
