It’s kinda of a hit and miss with JJs and it has to do with the fryer oil and the ‘special’ seasoning they use. If you can catch them when they actually changed the oil in the fryers then the food is great. If not, well I hope you like eating fried food that tastes burnt and nasty. As for the seasoning. Some times you get it applied just right but most of the time there is too much which leaves everything too salty. After eating there for about 4 or 5 times we learnt the best time to eat at JJs is early in the day(lunch or early afternoon). The oil is usually okay and the staff know how to apply the seasoning. Do NOT eat there at night. For some reason we found that whoever is working the night shift are the ones who are over seasoning and not changing the fryer oil when needed. Every meal we’ve gotten from he night shift has been either over seasoned or burnt from the bad oil. Everything else is great. Portion sizes are huge for the money you spend. The side items like cole slaw tastes fresh and good. They have a variety of food to choose from like chicken, fish and burgers. Even hot dogs and their desserts, at least the cakes and cheese cake, are wonderful even though they don’t make the cakes themselves. If it wasn’t for the hit and miss on the seasoning and the fryer oil I would give this place 5 stars.
