History

Established in 2007.

In 2007 two best friends opened the World of Beer in the Westchase community of Tampa, FL. Their vision was to create a welcoming place where friends could gather to discover craft beer and swap stories while taking in a game or enjoying live music. Today, World of Beer is leading the unique, exploding cultural phenomenon of Craft Taverns. At our core is, of course, beer. We hunt and gather beers from around the world, offering the best craft variety on the planet to the beer aficionado and casual beer fan alike. Complementing our amazing beer selection is our delicious «tavern fare» menu, craft spirits, and live entertainment all served up by a passionate, insanely knowledgeable staff. The result, a winning concept and a truly golden opportunity.

Business Owner

Scott Zepp and Matt LaFon are Gulf Breeze natives that created Culture Focused Brands (World of Beer, Blend Lounge, & Casino Beach Bar). This company didn’t happen overnight– Scott and Matt are best friends that love building relationships, creating opportunities and providing a great experience. They were hanging out drinking some craft beers and thought about how there was no place to hang out and enjoy a variety of beers with awesome customer service. From there, World of Beer was born… What they discovered is that they weren’t just selling beer, but the experience and natural connection of beer drinkers. Once both WOB and Blend were thriving in Tampa, FL, Matt and Scott decided to bring that culture back to their home in Pensacola. In 2012, they opened the World of Beer and Blend Lounge on Palafox, and the summer of 2014 they opened Casino Beach Bar down on Pensacola Beach.

06⁄11 Saturday night I took my father who is visiting the US, to downtown Pensacola. My father does not carry the passport around because he is old school instead he carries his international drivers license issued from the government of my country. The security at World of Beers refused to let my father in who is clearly 56 years old on the basis he doesn’t have a valid government issued identification. We were at Old Hickory before that and had no problems with it, however I believe the small minded security at World of Beers just didn’t want to let us in not because they think he is less that 21 but other reasons beyond the lack of identification. The reputation of these establishments will diminish mainly because of people like this, who likely to be doing this job for a long time.

A solid place that used to have a pretty good food selection on the menu but slimmed down to more of a bar fare type of menu to maximize profits. Nonetheless, there is a great selection of beers from around the world as the name suggests and it seems to always be busy but not my kind of atmosphere for a place where I want to enjoy new beers on the weekend. That is, it’s a very loud crowded sports bar with an odd shape that causes your elbow to be bumped too many times. However if you like trivia, Monday night trivia is fun and challenging while service is better with less of that weekend type rush.

World of beer takes selection to a new level. It’s such a disappointment going to a restaurant in this area and asking the waiter/​waitress what they have on tap or draft and the only thing coming out their mouth is «miller Light, Bud light.» Etc. Etc. When my wife and I first moved to the area I asked a waitress what craft beers their restaurant had and she had the audacity to say «Yuengling.» Anyways, whether you want a porter, an imperial, a lager, or whatever your palette desires it DOESN’T matter at WoB! They had something for everyone! If you go, definitely ask to try one of their iPad menus! They have an interactive menu on an iPad that you can have at your table where you can select what you want to drink based on an endless selection of categories and filters! The iPad feature alone got our whole table to try a handful of things we would have never seen on the endless walls of alcoholic heaven. Definite must stop if you are looking to broaden your horizon in terms of what to drink!

Took a friend to WOB last night and expected to have to wait as usual, But! This time was different thanks to Shyann! Wow! what a difference one person can make and change your mind. She was extremely friendly and very patient! She listened to what we may like and allowed us to try several until we found the perfect beer! Thank You Shyann! I wish there were more professional people out there like you! So appreciate the service. Great hire WOB! Well done :)

This is my city so I know it well. This was an awesome addition to the best downtown of all of the cities I know. Always a fun crowd and so many choices on the wall. Lacy is my favorite server and she will have a smile for you as soon as you hit the door. Make sure to check it out next time you are around!

Love going for the beer elections. We live right down the road and love it. But if the female bartenders are working and you’re female, forget good service. They aren’t good. Which is sad. Sit outside at a table you’ll get better service. But go for the beer not the service BC you won’t get the best unless you get Jake

I do not drink but I can hang here with friends that do because they have really good bar food and a decent atmosphere! by atmosphere I mean plenty of TVs for viewing every sport and a lively younger crowd! The Bavarian Pretzel here is the best pretzel I have ever had!

I’m going to start this with I am a bartender and have been in the restaurant bar business for quite a while. I used to enjoy this place but not lately. Great if you’re a beer connoisseur but if you’re looking for good service forget it. I’m a female I was here with another female friend the other night, most of the employees were working were female there was one guy working. The girls completely ignored us but paying plenty of attention to the male customers, flirting and on their cell phone. The only reason I find myself going back is for the food and the beer selection but I’m done going there. This sad because I really did like this place. I’ve introduced plenty of people to World of Beers but I’ll stop doing that too.

I just moved to Pensacola and live close to this popular drinking establishment.
3 big reasons to go here:
1) Great/​huge selection of draft beer
2) Fun trivia nights at 7:00PM on Mondays
3) WOB Running club on Wednesdays at 6:00PM (show up at least 15 minutes before to sign in)
I’ve yet to try any food here but from watching my friends’ dishes – the kitchen looked like it created good stuff. It is impossible to come to Pensacola and not check out World of Beer located in the heart of Pensacola’s young downtown.

First, the management deserves a 0. A big fat zero.
The poor waitress was forced to deal with inadequate staffing, and was left in a position to make up for managements poor work, assigning her to what appeared to be 10+ tables. The MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED.
We showed up, got a table, and waitstaff/​beverage service was superb. Unfortunately it went quickly south. We ordered appetizers (table of 4) and entrees. The first 3 entrees took the better part of an hour to even come out (they were busy, so we weren’t overly upset) but also arrived prior to appetizers. The fourth entrée didn’t arrive until a good half hour after the others had arrived, in fact after I told them to cancel it because the kitchen clearly had no leadership.
While the food is descent, it’s not good enough to get this type of kitchen service. The poor waitress was left to fend for herself. The kitchen staff should be ashamed of themselves, and the manager is pretty much worthless; we never saw the manager despite the absurd wait times and the discombobulated flow of anything in the facility shows they are not doing their job.
I can only hope this review makes it to corporate, because this facility is a real potential issue.

When I first walked in I was greeted pretty poorly. However, Amanda was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. We are not from here so she litteraly wrote a list of things to do in the area and she made excellent food recommendations. Amanda hands down turned my experience into a good one.

This place has the best of everything. The seating is indoor/​outdoor meaning you can sit by the giant windows that open to the patio area while still watching sports on TV. They also had my fave beer so bonus points!

–The beer selection is amazing (especially for Pensacola), who knew there were so many local brews?
–The manager is super friendly and all-​around awesome.
–It’s connected to a Blend if you’re in the mood to dance.
