Had the Sloppy Broussard and it was off the charts good. Huge sandwich, great flavors. A must eat if you are in the Pensacola area! Kevin was my server and he was great!!!

My friend and I took a bite and looked up at each other and said damn. Talk about an explosion of delicious flavor. He had the Cajun gumbo and I had the creole gumbo. I preferred the creole gumbo. It had a bolder taste and had a bit more spiciness, in my opinion. I got the half and half, so I had a cup of the gumbo and a half of a crawfish poboy. I wish my mouth had the capability to retain the taste of those blackened crawfish for days. Absolutely the best crawfish I’ve had in my 19 years. It doesn’t end there. We made sure our table was packed. We ordered a side of blackened gator bites. It was great gator. Not too tough. It’s right behind McGuires. Please don’t change your mind when you see McGuires. The food is more expensive and not even close to Broussard’s quality. Not to forget the staff. They’re super cool.

loved the food. A. Mazing. Etoufee was on point, and we even took a stuffed chicken breast home with us from the cooler($$ off if you dine in, then buy food to go:)) Good atmosphere overall, but our waitress was very rude and unprofessional towards her other workers. I guess they were new but it was nasty. Although she was behind the scenes, we. heard. everything. Amazing food. just maybe we will get it to go. Loved the pork skins! And the fried banana bread pudding was to die forrr

I ordered their«featured» Broussard’s po boy, and my wife had the boudin ball po boy. She liked her sandwich better when she ate the individual ingredients by themselves. In flavor, the Broussard’s was like a cross between a fried crawfish po boy and gumbo. Surprisingly good. Their fries were some of the best we’ve ever had. Nice little place. We’ll be back.

Just off 98 and a bit hidden, this place has the real deal on Cajun food and music… stopped by for a quick bite and was I welcomed with sample Chicken Stew and Gumbo served with Fried Pork Rinds. The Chicken Stew was excellent and the sever suggested the Cup and half of Po Boy to eat for lunch. I enjoyed the casual atmosphere with Cajun Meats on one wall, the music and friendly staff who seem to really enjoy working here.

Very good! The food is delicious and all of the prepared food you can purchase that I have tried is also good. The prepared food is a little pricey however. I ordered ribs off the menu and they tasted good but were not as tender as they should be. Everything else, such as po’boys and gumbo is excellent.

4.5 stars!!! Welcomed by all as I walked in the door, was immediately greeted with sweet tea(which was awesome). I chose the Cajun Alfredeaux(shrimp, chicken & andouille sausage in an Alfredeaux sauce over cheese grits) — it was AMAZING. I also got a side of rice & beans(they were fine), and my awesome waitress gave me a sample of dirty rice(get it! Sooooo good!!!). I also loved the pork rinds(right amount of salt & spice and hot out of fryer). I got to try the crawfish boil too — my first time — and got a lesson on how to eat it — and it was delicious!!! I tried two desserts(yes two!) the fried cheesecake & the sweet potato bread pudding. They had the same sauce, and of the two I’d recommend the bread pudding, but that’s more because I’m not a huge cheesecake fan — but if you dig cheesecake, nothing like having it fried! :). Overall, I’d eat here again & highly recommend it!!!

My family and I were looking for some good gumbo and crawfish, saw the great reviews of this restaurant, and thought that it would be worth looking into. We were excited once we sat down with some drinks and looked over the menu. It literally had everything anyone interested in Southern Cuisine could want; BBQ, chicken, crawfish, shrimp, gumbo, étouffée, fried green tomatoes, etc. First, we noticed there were multiple gumbos. We asked our waitress what was the best one in her opinion. She said she didn’t know. That was my first red flag. We ordered the fried green tomatoes with a crawfish sauce to start. The sauce was excellent, almost like a crawfish étouffée. However, the tomatoes didn’t have much flavor and the batter was missable. My fiancé ordered seafood gumbo and a seafood platter, his mother ordered the creole style gumbo and a seafood platter, and I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo with a crawfish platter two ways(fried and étouffée). They brought out the gumbos but passed my étouffée off as gumbo to my fiancé, even though he brought it up to our waitress that it was not gumbo. She argued with him saying that it was in fact gumbo and there was nothing else in the window. Honestly, it seemed like she didn’t know what it was at all, but just didn’t want to deal with us asking questions. Finally, the waitress brought our food out and my étouffée was missing. She said«Oh yeah, sorry. That wasn’t gumbo that he had, that was your étouffée. Let me see if they’ll let me have another for you, since he ate it.(as if it was my fiancé’s fault) His gumbo has been sitting in the window this whole time.» This is after we had already argued with her that what he had was not gumbo. Let’s move on to the food: My plate was severely lacking crawfish. I honestly thought it was the child portion. I understand crawfish prices vary, but this was $ 17 for literally 7 crawfish tails and fries with half of cup of étouffée. My fiancé and his mother’s seafood platter was supposed to have catfish and what they received was either tilapia or grouper. When asked the waitress could not help. Also, when we asked about the portion for my crawfish she got offensive and said«…What?! Do you want me to like, COUNTTHEMFORYOU!?» I have never seen a waitress act like that and still have a job. I understand that this was not all her doing, but she did not make the situation better and it seemed like when we brought up our concern she seemed like she could not have been bothered. It wasn’t all bad. The food was excellent, had great sauces and all the cajun flavors you would hope for, but the lack in service and seeming lack of management in both kitchen and serving staff will keep us from returning. *On a side note, they do not write things down. They only have iPads. To make any substitutions or changes to your meal is an act of congress. The waitress kept saying that she couldn’t make our substitutions or make a note for the fish to be crispy because the iPad didn’t give her that ability, even though the kitchen was literally five feet away and she could have just told them.

I had the shrimp & grits and asked for the shrimp lightly blackened, and I received them a lil more than lightly. I understand taste is subjective so no fuss from me. I’m just glad I was able to eat them. Overall it was delicious and the staff was great! I will return. Recommend.

Great food and service! They will give you free pork rinds before your meal(like free bread at other restaurants). Don’t eat too much of them or you will get early onset heart disease. I had a dish that had crawfish etoufee and fried catfish with cheesy cabbage – so so good. Not sure if this place is the best in the area, but not a bad choice for some lunch.

Gumbo was terrible. Not sure if it was an old batch or what. Tasted like burnt water. Fried oysters were good.

So so so good!!! We came in for the Sunday brunch and left very much pleased. Party of 5 and everyone’s food was delicious. Service was wonderful as well. Server was very helpful in making our choices(the menus bigger on Sunday) and turns out there’s bottomless mimosas for 8 dollars. We will definitely be eating here again, maybe check out the live music on Friday nights…

The History: I spent a lot of growing up in Louisiana on the North Shore of Lake Ponchartrain. I’ve had poboys from too many holes in the walls and famous restaurants all over south Louisiana. Poboys are how I gauge how authentic a cajun restaurant is. I like to keep an open mind, but that’s my bar, how good ya poboy is. The Meal: I started with an order of Boudin Balls. These were awesome. I would say they were probably the best I’ve had. My entrée was«The Yankee.» Basically a roast beef poboy with fries and cheddar cheese. Lets break this down, because a roast beef poboy is the simplest but hardest of all poboys. At first glance, it was not the traditional roast beef poboy. I kept an open mind. The meat was not cooked in au jus or brown gravy, but was debrised out right. It wasn’t dry, but needed some wet. The gravy was flour based, more what I’d expect on chicken and waffles up north. This is also on the regular roast beef and not just The Yankee. The cheddar was a good touch with just enough fries to cover it. The bread is a hot debate apparently. It wasn’t served on french bread but a toasted french roll of sorts. Pensacola does not have this magic poboy bread only found in Louisiana. If you find it, please tell me. The Overall Impression: though it wasn’t the traditional cajun food I grew up with, it was really good, the atmosphere was perfect and the staff great. Eat here.

Excellent! A true hidden gem — off the beaten path and full of LA flavor. There wasn’t one thing we ate that we didn’t like. I had the Shrimp & Grits(delicious) and my wife had Crawfish, Andouille & Grits(awesome). We enjoyed authentic Natchitoches meat pies, a tasty throwback to my childhood and sampled their«sloppy» sauce(amazing). Definitely give this place a try. It’s charming LA décor and laid back atmosphere only add to the flavorful experience.

I found this little nugget of goodness not long before I had to fly out of Pensacola. Too bad too, because the food is really good. The crawfish étouffée was incredible, I should have gotten seconds of it, because the duck and sausage gumbo was not very good at all. The duck completely over powered everything in the bowl. Would not recommend it. The rest of the meal was great, hush puppies, corn bread, and fantastic sweet tea. Service was warm and inviting, prices very reasonable. I’ll be back as soon as I can, just not for the duck gumbo.

I had some fantastic crawfish étouffée, fried catfish, black eyed peas, and some jalapeño cornbread. Everything was super fresh and the restaurant is quite nice looking. Will certainly be coming back soon. They also sell frozen seafood in the restaurant if you want to bring some home.
