I really love how Moore Brothers does business. It’s an interesting model that pushes the limit of what is legal. I like that. For one, it’s a vertical business model, with retail, distribution, and importing all under one business. Keep in mind that isn’t legal in NJ or any state, but it’s a fantastic way to sell wine that otherwise wouldn’t be in the the states. As a rule, a distributor can’t own a wine shop. Apparently, different family members own different parts of the company, so they look separate on paper.
It may seem shady, but it’s not. The laws in the wine trade are complicated, outdated and anti-​business in many ways. It’s good to see a company thrive, despite the obstacles.

These guys are the wine experts.
Everyone in the store at any time cam help you with anything. Dont know anything about wine? Don’t worry! No weirdness or wine snobberg, they just want to make sure you get what you need, and they have only the good stuff!

Located inside a normal looking office building is probably one of the better wine stores you will ever come across. They have an amazing selection of small batch wines and the place is staffed with people who really know their stuff. John was very helpful giving me a very thorough tour on my first visit.
I think the rest of the reviews speak for themselves. These people really care about their wines.
Pro tip — bring a jacket, the entire shop is kept at optimal wine storage temperature.

Our story begins in 2003 on my first visit…
This review is LONG overdue. I have been purchasing wine at Moore Brothers in Pennsauken since 2003. My favorite wine shoppe in the whole wide world is this one, in an unassuming business park in Pennsauken, NJ.
The staff and ownership provide a FULL SERVICE experience with no pretension, just a sincere love of small production French, Italian, German, and American wine. Everyone selling wines at Moore Brothers knows the wines they sell. If you need wine to serve with a specific meal or type of cuisine, ask and you shall be rewarded with a great suggestion or two. I have learned many interesting tidbits of information about wine in my many visits. The store has a tasting table where you can taste a selection of 4 wines. The wines on the tasting table change frequently but the staff is consistent.
The wines in this store are not only of fine quality, but also of good value. Most of the wine is priced between $ 14 and $ 35. Moore Brothers provide tasting notes of all purchases and great advice on pairings. They also track your purchases for future reference.
I must also mention two important points, one is that they build relationships with all of the wine producers and the other is that all wine is «shipped at 56» as in 56 degrees Fahrenheit. All wine shipments from Europe to their stores is temperature controlled. Quality is great importance to the Moores, both in product and in service.
Our relationship has continued through moves from South Jersey to California to Florida. Although I now order much of the wine I purchase from their NY store (they also operate in Wilmington, DE), I nearly always stop in Pennsauken when I am nearby visiting family in S. Jersey. Fortunately we visit often! I have also referred many people in NJ (to their store) and in FL (to their website). I buy 6 – 8 cases from Moore Brothers every year between in store orders in NJ and online orders in NY. I would buy more if only I had the proper storage.

I honestly have never been much into local wine. Sure, I would drink it, but never really enjoyed it until I was introduced to Moore Brothers last summer. I never craved a glass a wine in my life until now.
The owner Greg Moore was the head sommelier at Le Bec-​Fin, so what does that tell you? You can come in for a tasting featuring a few wines they put on sale for the week. All of the wines are internationally hand picked and shipped at 56 degrees, in which the temperature remains in the store. Each of the staff are incredibly knowledgable providing information in great detail of the history and taste of each wine. They also have tasting notes describing the wines and which foods they are best paired with. It is clear how much thought and effort has been put into writing these up.
They also take part in Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative where you can subscribe up to a weekly membership to receive certified organic produce. You can pick up your produce right at the store. Pretty neat.
Everyone involved with Moore Brothers are very passionate and I always enjoy my experience when I come in. Delicious wine and lovely people.

This place is INTENSE.
On our way down to South Jerz to visit with some friends, we realized we needed some wines for a BYO restaurant. A quick check on the Unilocal app and we found this awesome place. I have to admit I did drive right by it, saying «But I don’t see it!!!» before realizing it’s in an office building. There can’t be a wine store inside there, right? Wrong!
I love that it was classy without being pretentious. There is such an awesome range of prices to choose from and I have to love that each wine is personally selected by someone from the company who travels to each of the vineyards. How freaking cool is that!!! Love that one of the owners personally came over to welcome us and to give us a little history of the store, and to encourage us to partake in the incredibly detailed wine tasting that was being held (complete with the winemaker visiting from Germany). So, so cool. (Also, gotta love that there’s a small kids’ play area to keep the little tykes occupied whilst you sip away!)
Everyone who worked there was so helpful and you could really tell the pride they take in being a part of this awesome store. We walked out of there with more than we planned on buying, but everything was amazing. Definitely worth stopping by every time I am in the area. It’s that good.

So my girlfriend and I were heading down the turnpike to meet one of her friends for dinner at a BYO place, we didn’t stop up in north jersey by where we live as we didn’t have time, so what do you do? Check Unilocal for places on the way! Now places that have this many reviews and a solid 5-​star rating aren’t so much few and far between — they’re damned near impossible to find. It’s not easy to get that sort of a rating, but let me tell you they deserve every bit of it.
After browsing around for a couple minutes, we were approached by a gentleman who introduced himself as one of the Moore brothers themselves, and upon learning that this was our first time in the store, gave us a quick rundown of what makes them different.
Wow.
NO ONE, and I mean no one, puts this much care into a wine shop — every other one I’ve ever been to is in comparison like a grocery store for booze. Here, every wine is hand-​selected by one of the staff, who not only has tasted the wines, but also been out to the wineries and farms to directly source them. Most, if not all, of the wines here look to be imported by a partner organization, making it their own choices, not some distributor’s picks based on sales margin and volume. Don’t take this the wrong way though! They have rather fair prices, from «Tuesday night dinner» all the way up to «TREAT YO SELF!», haha.
While we were there, we were treated to their version of a wine tasting, which involved not only tastings of some delicious German whites, but deeply interesting histories of each and every wine as it was poured. The winemaker had also flown over from Germany and was around to answer any questions, as well as to sign bottles.
Needless to say, our quick stop to grab a bottle for dinner was not what we’d planned. We spent way too much time here AND way too much money; how could you pass up stocking the cellar with rare german bottles signed by the producer, lol.
Not only will I stop here any time I’m down that way, I’ll go out of my way to get here.

A refuge from PA’s dreadful state liquor stores this is just one of the best wine shops in the country. Knowledgeable staff and a great selection make shopping for wine a fun and rewarding experience.

We love MBWC because everyone at the store behaves like a model human being. The customer service they demonstrate is world class for a modest suatainable price. After all if we are buying wines from across the globe, we need to celebrate when folks with diverse personalities, cultures and tastes walk into the store. We are the terroir, or earthen vessels, that grow every day! And we actually do grow and improve with age. When I notice how talking about wines, grapes and the masterful winegrowers really brings us together as people, to converse and enjoy different color wines, joy that comes from a labor of love by many of these wine growers and brought to us by the fabulous friends at Moore Brothers stores.
I thank God that my wife and I stumbled upon this wonderful bodega of lovely people bringing wines from mom and pop wineries across the world to our areas. I have been to all three locations in DE, NYC, and NJ and I love them all. As a Delawarean from Brooklyn, NY with friends in NJ, I am still biased towards Delaware, but the other two are also fabulous.
So my hat’s off to you! But I must keep my jacket on because it is cool in the store.

I love this place. I think I’m addicted to their wine. There’s gotta be a name for that. Oh… wait a minute… shit.
Seriously though, Moore Brothers is a great place for international wines. I think they have some domestic wines, but small wineries from Europe seem to be their specialty.
They have a free wine table tasting whenever you want and the sommelier who served us and told us about the wines (soft spoken woman with glasses and knit hat), is excellent, friendly, and knows her wines. She can recommend wines for any type of meal or simple sipping wines by itself. I have purchased about 6 wines from the tasting table and each one hasn’t let me down. Not interested in any of the wines on the tasting table? There are hundreds of other choices that they can recommend for your occasion.
Remember the sommelier I mentioned with the knit hat? You might wonder, «Why a knit hat inside? Is she a hipster or something?» Well, Moore Brothers have all their wine shipped at 56 degrees and that is what they keep the store temperature set to. As they state on their website, Moore Brothers «…make sure our customers experience their wines in perfect condition. From the minute a shipment of wine leaves the winery in a temperature-​controlled truck until it goes „out-​the-​door“ with a customer, the wine is in our care at 56° (13.3° Celsius).» That’s pretty cool if you ask me (no pun intended). So when you’re in there, even in the summer, be prepared for a cold atmosphere.
I didn’t know this, but after checking out their website, I learned they also have Manhattan and Wilmington, DE locations as well. Check them out!

Hands down the BEST wine store in South Jersey! If you love wine you will not be disappointed. Great wine, customer service, and prices.

I can walk in, tell them exactly what I am looking for and 15 minutes later walk out with an exquisite three cases of wine that cost me less than $ 20 a bottle and taste like it cost four times as much. Love this place.

Moore Brothers has a perfectly curated selection of wine at great prices. There’s no reason to go to a state store for wine when you can go to Moore Brothers. The staff could not be more helpful or informed. No matter what the occasion they have the appropriate bottle (s).

NJ has the most surprising gems tucked into strip malls or in unassuming buildings on the side of busy highways. Moore Brothers is the perfect example, along with its neighbor Sagami down the road. In fact, the two of them add up to a perfect reason to cross the bridge, along with the added bonus of cheap gas.
You really can’t go wrong with any bottle in this store. Just tell one of the super helpful and knowledgeable salespeople what type of wine you prefer, and they will steer you in the right direction. Do you want a light red or an unoaked Burgundy? A delicious sparkling wine or a fancy sherry? Even with a tight budget, you can find a bottle for under $ 15 that will delight and may even surprise you. Just last week, we had a bottle of Cahors that was unlike anything we’d ever tasted before. Slightly vegetal and yet with a velvety quality. This makes me sound like a complete idiot, I know, but if you love wine GO HERE NOW!

Best store around, always helpful. Went there this trip to have Brian help me with pairings for an upcoming Talula’s table dinner. He graciously took time from his lunch (I found out later) and helped choose pairings for all eight courses, providing me valuable insight into why he chose each, and offering alternatives along the way.
Wine had been drunk, dinner has been eaten and Brian was spot on.

A few more spots like Moore’s and you can kiss large wine retailers goodbye. I already have. Gladly, I will make the effort to plan a trip, spend some time and walk away with a few bottles (sometimes a case, oops) of reasonably priced, always delicious wine.
Staff is not only good with grapes but they are good with beginners and snobs alike. If you’re not up to snuff, don’t be intimidated; they like showing off the merch and giving recommendations. Moore Brothers takes careful measure to bring you the best wines from small vineyards. They have personal relationships with the growers and vintners so they can do this without a scourging upcharge. The wine is shipped and then stored at a cool 54 degrees — key for holding wines.
Moore Brothers doesn’t just want to sell you wine, they want you to swirl around for a while, breathe it in and truly enjoy.

This is the Natalie Portman of wine shops — small and perfectly formed. It’s not a large place with every wine under the sun (for that, see ‘Total Wine’ — the Christina Hendricks of wine stores) — but they always have a well-​curated selection from Europe, South America, and the US.
The brothers Moore visit each label that they carry and develop a close relationship with the winemakers who produce them. This relationship is apparent when you ask questions of the staff — they seem to know every detail of every wine, including which foods pair best. The other benefit of this relationship is that occasionally they will score a super-​limited wine or something expensive marked way down… Example: a few years ago they were blowing out a beautiful, revelatory 89 Vouvray for $ 30 when it easily could have sold for $ 300 elsewhere.
Prices have inched up over the years, but at Moore one can still find good QPR buys in the $ 10 – 15 range… and some superb wines in the $ 15 – 25 range.
This is my favorite wine shop! I always end up with solid wine and +1 wine knowledge.
PS. Sign up for their mailing list. They send around 1 – 2 emails per week listing sale items as well as fanciful descriptions of said wines, dinners with their wives, travel stories, etc.

I suffer from a common disease known as Oenophilia. Although there is no cure that I’d care to know about, I can take comfort in the fact that Moore Brothers provides me with the necessary medications.
They have Malbec for the gritty, earthy days, Port for the hard nights, Nebbiolo for the Italian BYO excursions, Beaujolais for the warm, summery getaways, and everything in between. There’s something for every flare up that comes along with this ailment.
The only problem with Moore Brothers is that they turn over their wines quickly. You may purchase a bottle here that you love but it might be gone for good by the next time you return.

Located in an inconspicuous strip of office buildings, right across the street from Cooper River, is the best kept secret in Camden County… and it took a born-​and-​raised Philadelphian to tell me about it!
Moore Brothers imports wines from small distributors. Every bottle is kept in a temperature-​controlled setting. The staff members are not only excellent at pairing wines with whatever food combination you throw at them, but they are also well-​versed with menus from restaurants all over the Delaware Valley. Last week, I was on my way to a friend’s house for a dinner featuring grilled chicken, corn on the cob and Caprese salad. The gentleman assisting me asked if I knew what marinade was being used on the chicken. When I wasn’t sure, he pulled several options for me, but he used the salad as the determining factor, which led to a pinot grigio that perfectly complemented the meal later that evening.
On every visit, I’ve been helped the moment I walk through the door, and I’ve never once been made to feel foolish asking a question about the wine. The staff members seem to appreciate people who want to learn, and they are always happy to assist.

One of those review that you wonder why you haven’t written sooner. The other reviewers have hit the nail on the head. A super selection of hand selected small family varieties, shipped to the store in temperature controlled containers and kept at that temp until they are placed in your hands.
The online tracking system is great for remembering what that last bottle was that you liked so much, and it even advises you if they still have it in stock. A newsletter brings you information on special offers and premium deals and specials, and has resulted in an ever expanding wine cellar in my basement that has prompted me to pick up a 166 bottle wine fridge.
Tasting are held on various days (I think every Saturday) and there are discounts by the case. They also have great samplers and plenty of staff happy to help you find something you love. Prices are surprisingly not expensive, with everything form a $ 16 prosecca that great Aunt Tootie won’t be able to tell isn’t a pricey Tattingers, to a $ 50 bottle of small batch Champagne that is better than any yellow labeled mass produced stuff.
