Can’t wait to go back and try something else! We made a special trip for brisket and left with short ribs and sausage too.

I am a 12 year veteran of the Bud’s tritip, I have to say they are the most complimented meat at any BBQ or event we have ever had. Recently though, they have stepped it up even higher, though I did not think it was possible, with the introduction of the Bourbon Tritip… holy mother of Pearl is this thing good. Smoky from the grill and sweet from the marinade, this made the best sandwiches the day after we had it for dinner!

Another happy customer. I called ahead and put in an order for some specific cuts, and was really pleased with the quality of everything. The pricing was reasonable and the staff was friendly too. And the buffalo sticks we added onto our order make a tasty and healthy snack. Will definitely be returning!

Bud’s butchered the whole pig we bought from a local farm. The quality of the work was excellent– everything wrapped seperately and marked clearly. There were a lot of cuts I never would have learned to cook, and it was a wonderful learning experience But I have to say the parts they hot smoked were simply great. We got 4 wonderful hams, and 4 ham shanks. You can’t understand what a ham sould taste like until you have Bud’s butcher and smoke a heritage pig. Stop buying grocery store pork. If you have a freezer, go whole hog!

I have taken two wild pigs there for Butchering. Excellent quality in cutting & wrapping, and labeling. The place is clean and the butcher’s are friendly and offer up ideas.

I will never buy meat from anywhere but Bud’s. The meat is always top quality and worth every dollar. I go in twice a month and fill up our freezer with all different kinds of meat from Bud’s. The beef bacon is mind-blowing, as is the maple bacon. The jerky is also something I can’t seem to put down. Customer service is excellent. I highly recommend Bud’s to anyone who is looking for quality meat, as well as the opportunity to support a local family owned business.

We have taking the majority of our wild game(deer, ducks, and pigs) to Bud’s and after our last pick up we will not be returning. We were quoted $ 250 for ducks/geese that we brought in and were charged over $ 400 when we picked up the order. After expressing our frustration the lady stated she should not have originally quoted us because she didn’t know the price. In the past 5 months we have spent over $ 1,000 getting our animals butchered and because they do not adequately provide quotes and are not willing to take a loss of $ 150 for their error we will not return.

Cowboy Candy Jerky is hands down the best jerky I’ve ever had. You would be hard pressed to find chicken better than Bud’s Lemon garlic chicken. Their Hot pepperoni sticks are another one of my favorites. I have yet to be disappointed in anything we’ve gotten here. My only gripe is their hours. Wish they were open later and open Sunday’s.

Ok so we just had our first lamb slaughtered, buds employees were so very helpful because I had no idea what I was doing. 5 stars for helpfulness, 5 stars for friendliness, 5 stars for cleanliness– And while I was here to fill out the cut sheet I bought a tri-tip OMG most delicious tri tip ever! I will be back often, I bought maple bacon today, we will see how that is! Shout it from the roof tops, this place is da Bomb!

If you want a walk back in time to what a true meat dept. used to be. The place is in a small building set way back off Petaluma hill rd but worth the drive. When you walk in the smell tells you your are in meat lovers paradise. Pork in all its many forms. Beef nuff said. They also had some bison and venison. I can truly vouch for the Bloody Mary tri tip. I can’t wait to have more, puts all others to shame. This is immensely popular item as it was bought by both customers in front and behind us. It’s a little pricey so I will be going there when a need a great cut for a special meal.

This place is amazing. It’s an old-timey butcher that is a serious drive from the city — but absolutely worth it! High quality meats, cut cleanly in the pristine open air shop. Refrigerators full of specialty meats. If you’re a conscious carnivore send your grass fed/fair raised animal here for well cut, wrapped portions(see photo). The staff is friendly, fun and helped me carry my order to the car.

My go-to whenever I get invited to a barbecue! Basically everything Buds sells is delicious. They’ll gladly get you pretty much any cut of meat you could possibly want if you ask for it.

The only place to buy exotic meats if you ask me. I like to go in and buy what I call the Noah’s ark.(2 of each animal) they have frozen and not frozen. Pre marinated and plain also have Jerky. Today I got, pig, lamb, elk, alligator, and buffalo(jerky) so excited to try gator! Some things they have are kinda random so it’s nice to see new things like rabbit come and go etc.

I’ve drove by their sign a lot the past few years & my husband & I finally stopped by on a Saturday. We wished we stopped by sooner! Quality game meat like venison, buffalo, rabbit, quail, and pheasant, as well as grass-fed beef and pork. We loved the sirloin, bacon, and Portuguese sausage. We’re saving the boar sausage for a special occasion. We will definitely stop by again.

I’ve been hunting wild boar for the past few years and have always gone to Bud’s to process the pigs(2). They have always done a a great job. The Country Breakfast Sausage is fantastic and the smoked hams are always a hit. They’ve always been extremely patient and helpful, I highly recommend them.

Very excited about this find! I stopped by to pick up some meat of a 4H animal(sad, I know) and was so surprised by this hidden gem! The meat selection is out of this world and you can tell it’s all extremely quality! I didn’t get to look around too much but I’m excited to go back with my boyfriend and my dad! Their jerky also looks amazing!

My husband & I bought some tri-tip; it was amazing. We wrapped it in foil & put it on a charcoal grill, cooked it 30min/side & it came out perfect, tender & juicy.

I hesitate to tell this in public, but once upon a time I was… a vegetarian. I KNOW, I know, the collective gasp across the Unilocalsphere was enough to wake the dead, but it’s true. Thankfully this story has a happy ending; as I’ve been in recovery from vegetarianism for over 4 years. Cue the applause– Now that I do eat meat, I tend to be more selective than I was previously on what types of meat I do consume. Thankfully Bud’s is a short drive from home, and gives me everything I need to stay on task with the meat. I’m sure everyone in the place laughs at me once I leave, but I don’t care! It’s totally worth it. My go-to’s are vast: gotta have the grass-fed filet mignon, the chicken pesto sausages, the rack of lamb, and the best of the best is the grass-fed beef marrow. With these magical buddies I get the guys at buds to slice open for me even though they’re frozen, so that I can roast them and serve them pretty to my dinner guests. Delicious(albeit an acquired taste), and so easy. The guys even do special orders, I just let them know what I want, grass-fed stew meat, stroganoff or fajita cuts, or even steaks, and they call me when it’s packaged and ready to go. The last time I was there, I picked up some cowboy candy, which is a slightly sweet jerky, and some salmon jerky which was absolutely delicious. The best part of this experience for me, is that I’m supporting a local small business, and not handing over my paychecks to safeway, when there’s an absolutely delightful business right here on Petaluma Hill Road that does it better, healthier, and local. Why go anywhere else?!
