Zev Mellman, DC

Until today Dr. Z was the only chiropractor I’ve been to. I only stopped going because I moved out of the state. Wish I didn’t move because the level of service and care I received was top notch.

I realized that I needed to go to a chiropractor when I had a problem with a nerve. That’s when I began to understand how much the health of my spine affects the rest of my body. I noticed that the nerve started to heal even though it was my spine that was adjusted.
A big surprise to me was that my acid reflux cleared up in a few months. I chose this practice over others because of the reviews on Unilocal and Google, so now am passing along the good news that they do get results.

There are three things that will be clear to every patient who walks into Dr. Mellman’s office, he genuinely cares about his patients, that the customer service is phenomenal and that if your conditioned can be helped, Dr. Mellman will help you. I found Dr. Mellman because of my brother. He had been experiencing neck pain, tightness and loss of range of motion for years. Over those years he had tried numerous chiropractors, all of whom were only able to give him temporary and partial relief. None of these chiropractors got to the root of the problem which was that my brother’s bones in his neck had shifted, this caused a lessening of its natural curve, resulting in a squeezing of the nerve system running up and down his spine. Most chiropractors adjustments do little to regain the curve in your neck leaving you with recurring tightness and pain. Dr. Mellman (or Dr. Z, as his patients lovingly refer to him) focuses on reshaping your spine to its natural curve and opening up the pathway for the nerves that run along the spine. Dr. Z does a great job of explaining all this to his patients, including my brother, and formulating a game plan to get your spine and you back to the best health possible. After following the three month plan laid out by Dr. Z, my brother, who is kind of a gym rat, was able to work out his shoulders for the first time in eight years, he has regained full range of motion in his neck, and has no more pain. His posture is also better and he can feel that his head is in a better position so that he is no longer getting pain and fatigue in his posture muscles in his mid-​back when he works at his desk all day, (a problem for many of us).
​I had been experiencing the same pain, tightness and loss of mobility in my neck that my brother had, only to a greater extent. I also had similar problems in my low back and mid back. Now, I live in California, I have spent several years religiously going to chiropractors and doctors for my conditions and have only experienced temporary results. My brother tells me I have to find a way to come see Dr. Z. I was able to block out a week to come to Florida see if Dr. could help me. My brother set it up with Dr. Z and he was incredibly accommodating. When I got to his office his staff offered me some water or coffee, gave me the standard forms to fill out and were as courteous and helpful as they could be. Upon finishing the paperwork, one of his assistants immediately ushered me to Dr. Z’s office and took detailed notes of my complaints. Before he finished, Dr. Z entered. He was warm, welcoming and understanding of the great discomfort I was experiencing. He took time to listen to all my symptoms and anything I had to say, then asked questions to make sure he understood exactly what was going on. He then took X-​rays and immediately examined and then explained that I had completely lost the curve in my neck, 20% of the curve in my mid-​back and 30% in my lower back. Consequently, the nerves running up and down my spine were being squeezed, inhibiting the flow of information and energy down my spine to my body parts and causing my pain. Despite the bad news he was extremely positive and kind in his demeanor, confident that he could help me. He had me come in twice a day each day that week so I could receive the maximum care possible. Perhaps, the most encouraging thing about Dr. Z’s commitment to my health, is that price was almost an afterthought. Dr. Z was more concerned with my health than he was with his fee. I have never been to a doctor’s office where I felt so well cared for and the doctor was actually concerned with respecting my time. While I am not completely better because my condition requires longer treatment, I made more progress in a week with Dr. Z than I did going to my regular chiropractor twice a week for a year and a half.

Dr. Zev has changed my opinion about chiropractic for the better. I went in for severe menstrual cramps after not being able to find anything that would help me cope with the pain. I seriously don’t know why I didn’t go to him way before. Ever since I’ve been getting adjusted, I’ve seen a huge positive change. Dr. Zev is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does which makes your visits very comfortable and secure about your health and overall well being. I definitely recommend him to anyone with health issues, you won’t regret it!

Amazing! I was on day 8 of a stiff neck and his office was able to accomidate me last minute. The office is clean and bright and has an energetic vibe. The staff was extremely helpful as was Dr. Zev. I have already referred others to him. Dr. Zev reviewed everything with me and was extremely attentive. I’m confident I chose the right doctor.

Dr. Mellman has made a tremendous difference in the lower back pain that I had suffered from and in the way that I look at my overall health. Not only did he correct the back pain that I suffered from for years, he also taught me how my spinal health plays a huge role in other issues such as headaches, constant feeling of tiredness, and a slew of other health issues that one wouldn’t think would be connected to your spinal health.
What I love most about Dr. Mellman’s practice is that it’s not all about coming in and adjusting your back, he tries to influence you to have a lifestyle change. From the Advanced Nutrition Workshop to the classes that he teaches on Heavy Metal Awareness, I have really learned to be more conscious of the lifestyle that I live.

I know Dr. Z for around 4 years now. He is an amazing person. I have never seen a Doctor in my lifetime that is more dedicated and passionate about helping his patients like him. The wealth of knowledge that he has regarding the anatomy of the human body is unmatchable. On the nutrition side, his food program is designed individualy and extremely effective. Thanks Dr. Z for always being there for me. I wish that I could move to Florida just to stay next to your practice.

Finally! A chiropractor who has healing powers! Dr. Zev Mellman has been instrumental in my recovery from 3 herniated discs. At 53 years young, he continues to keep my body operating on all 8 cylinders! I cannot imagine myself being away from my adjustments. It’s always a pleasure to walk in and see and feel the energy emitting from his practice. His friendly staff and energetic members create a fabulous ambiance. Dr. Z is awesome, professional, & personable. Despite a busy office, Dr. Z & his staff make everyone feel like part of the family. I’ve been going to chiropractors since I was 8 years old for various ailments but Dr. Z is the first to say that chiropractic care & chronic pain doesn’t have to be a lifelong sentence if I workout & put in the work at home. He really is more interested in a healthy you than the almighty dollar.

Dr. Zev and his staff are phenomenal! I have two young children that I run after all day and thanks Dr. Zev I can keep up with them. Before starting treatment, I constantly suffered from neck and lower back pain. My regular visits with Dr. Z have helped me tremendously!

I am not a fan of the back breaker but when I had some major back issues I tried Dr. Mellman. Not your ordinary doctor’s office but fun and exciting way to get better. The treatment is not only the adjustment but physical therapy which helps make it a long term fix. His staff is very personable and I have never waited to be seen and the entire time you are at his office you are being worked on to correct your issues. It has a gym like atmosphere with music and patients talking to each other while doing their individual therapies. The most important fact is that he is getting me better and I would highly recommend him to anyone with back issues.

I scheduled a corrective care evaluation with Dr. Zev after being told by multiple orthopedics to never go see a chiropractor. I was pretty frustrated with the quality of my health, and felt like no one could help me understand why! And every pill I took was just making things worse. After my first visit with Dr. Zev, I felt like I was in the right place. I had a basic understanding of what could be causing my problem, and found my spine and posture were causing me to have a low core score (something you learn about your first visit). I am now on the right path to recover my health and I’m really excited about it!

Having been to a dozen or so different chiropractors in my life I figured I knew what to expect when I looked at Unilocal for an office near my home. Walking into the initial appointment I knew everything I thought I knew about chiropractic care was out the window– but in the best way possible. Having visited chiropractors on and off most of my adult life I was starting to tire of the cycle– come when your hurt, do your best to not get hurt again. Walking into Dr. Mellman’s facility I was reminded more of a gym then the same old chiropractors office– people where there taking an active hands-​on role in their spinal health! Dr. Mellman’s approach to overall health is well rounded and client based. Your adjustments and exercises are catered to your needs each appointment — no more of the same ol’ adjustment 2 times a week. I will continue to recommend Dr. Mellman and his staff to anyone.

Dr. Zev is awesome!!! He has helped me tremendously!!! I came to Zev with all sorts of physical ailments, all of which were answers to questions that he asked when I went to his wellness seminar, all caused by what I found out were due to subluxation and the deterioration of the arc of life in my neck.
