Granny B’z Chicken & Waffles

I had them once while they were in wynwood. Let me say this when your starving for food almost anything is damn good. We spotted Granny Bz decided to give them a shot. We ordered chicken & waffles. The wait was pretty average but the price was a little steep. We then ate our the chicken a waffles. As hungry as I was I was I ended up throwing half of it away. The chicken had no favor what so ever but grease and the waffle was made of the cheapest batter they could find anywhere. I didn’t even think that you could screw up something as simple as a waffle but they manage to prove me wrong. I was greatly disappointed I’d never eat this again.

The food here is great the waffles are soft and delicious and the wings are some of the best around. They are fried crisp but not too hard, and the breading itself is well-​seasoned. My favorite thing to order is the blueberry waffles combo I most appreciate the service, the service is prompt and respectful.

I was really disappointed. The service was great but the food was just alright and extremely overpriced. I had 2 stewed conch dinners they were out of rice so instead of offering an extra side we got nothing. And the portions are extremely small they look like nothing on the picture. I paid almost $ 45 with drink. For a little bit more I could have went to a sit down restaurant. I will not be going back and I am no longer following them on instagram.

The fried chicken and waffles were out of this world and the mystery drink was extraordinary.
But… The macaroni and cheese was disgusting the worst I’ve ever ate in my life. Kraft macaroni and cheese would’ve done the job. I will never eat that there again.

I’ve eaten here before at one of the Food Truck events and enjoyed it so much that once I came back town to visit my family for Thanksgiving I made Granny B’s one of my stops. We ordered the Red Velvet Waffle and a Wings entrée w/​Mac & Cheese.
The Good:
The chicken was perfectly seasoned and not greasy. Definitely reminded me of home.
The Ok:
The Waffle was okay. It had glaze in it but seemed to be missing something. Maybe a little more of the cream cheese glaze would have made a huuuuuge difference or even some syrup which they didn’t give us.
The Unfortunate:
I’ve had their Mac & cheese before and enjoyed it. However, today the only thing we both had to say about it was SALTY! Very disappointing.

Granny always hits the spot and they deliver!!! I had the chicken and blueberry waffles with the mystery drink to wash down all that tasty goodness. Nom nom nom.

Part 2 — Looks are deceiving, the wings are sitting in a pool of grease at the bottom, these chicken wings are small & short, but super odd shape fat, like a baby chicken feed growth hormone & steroids. The batter is clumpy all over the skin, and below the skin chicken it is very fatty, not meaty. The Waffles first bite I’m looking for soft & fluffy & I get hard & crunchy, as the thin edge of the waffle, has been over cooked in the waffle maker. The only thing Red about these non Velvet waffles was the look of Red #40 food dye. Let me try to salvage this by applying some things in the bag, a cream cheese icing spread, with no taste & the consistency of mayo, & one of the worst tasting «Syrup». A product made from High Fructose, Corn Syrup, Artificial Maple, this is the same syrup, as photos from the food truck.
My final act was too get out of my truck find the closest garbage can & get the hell out of there, to million other places, that deserve my business. Like Roscoe’s — «Westside «Ice Cube voice.

The food was horrible and cold. I waited about 45 minutes in the hot sun. When I received my food it was room temperature at best! I figured if I was waiting that long it must be hot and fresh, nope! I won’t be returning, they seemed unorganized.

Good food, horrible service! This guys were parked on the corner Pembroke and Douglas. I had to wait almost an hour to get my food while the workers can be seen talking and joking inside the truck. They are painfully slow. If you say anything and ask whats going on the lady out front gives you a nasty look and continues like you are not even there. There was only one order before mine and that guy waited for a whole hour! This is chicken and waffles for crying out loud! The food was tasty but not worth the wait or the aggravation.

I stopped by Granny B’z for some chicken & waffles and I have to say they were some of the best I have ever tried. They were outstanding! The owner and staff were super friendly and had my food out to me in no time. If you see this truck on the side of the road, I highly recommend pulling over and grabbing a bite to eat.

Painfully slow service. And I mean painful.
We waited by the food truck for over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. And it wasn’t the girl working at the truck’s fault… she simply had no help. It was really a resource management problem.
With the amount of people this food truck was trying to tend to, there should have been at least 2 additional people there working.
No sane human would wait as long as 10 minutes for a food truck to even acknowledge a customer, but my girlfriend was starving and there was nothing else open in the area. So we gave this a shot and felt utterly disappointed.
Another thing that really irked me was that the girl at the truck said it «would take approximately 7 minutes to get our food.» I was so disgruntled with initially waiting 10 minutes to be looked at that I decided to time how long it would take our food.
It took over 23 minutes to get our food! I hate lies. Just tell me it will take over 20 minutes! Don’t lie to me and tell me a number ¹⁄₃^rd lower!
Anyway, I won’t be returning. I can deep fry chicken and make waffles at home faster than these people can acknowledge a customer.

My chicken and red velvet waffles were delicious! The workers were friendly and to my surprise the wings were actually seasoned, not just breaded and fried like most establishments that sell fried wings. I will definitely be returning

Woke up in the mood for some Chicken and Waffles! Went on Unilocal to see what’s nearby and found this Food truck at the Sunoco gas station. Appearance is a clean and nice food truck. The people inside were really nice. I got the Chip o’ late chicken and waffles since I love chocolate! The chicken was fried nicely kind of like Publix fried chicken. The waffles were made really well. The chocolate I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. Maybe the brand they use. But overall it was a good spot. They’re planning on opening inside the gas station in the near future. It’s a good spot to check out!

2^nd time going to Granny Bz and I was disappointed. The first time was amazing. But this time my red velvet waffles were really soft like borderline done, small, and the chicken wings had no flavor. I expect consistency since its $ 13.00 anyway. I did go late in evening and there were a lot of orders, so I think this made the difference. My advice, go early when there’s not a lot of ppl.

Where to begin… Amazing!!! The wife, my one year old am I destroyed two plates of chicken and waffles and one order of the fried shrimp and grits. Absolutely perfect. The seasoning is on point; the waffles are fluffy morsels of heaven. Especially the red velvet, so good I ordered another round for dinner. I highly recommend you stop in. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Almost forgot… Get the mystery punch. You will not be disappointed. WOW

Food is fantastic! Nothing better than driving up to this food truck in my pj’s (don’t judge me) & walking away with GRADE A soulfood in 10 minutes flat which is possible when you prudently order in advance. My go to dishes are the Red Velvet Waffles or the Blue Berry Waffles with an order of fried wings. YUM, YUM, YUM! The mystery drinks are super sweet & tastes like Kool-​Aid mix.
Granny Bz gets four stars, only because I’ve called & driven by a couple times only to arrive to an empty lot.

The funk. One of my favorite places to pick up chicken and waffles. The red velvet waffles are the best. Chocolate chip waffles are delicious as well.

I ordered the chicken and waffles… the fried chicken was so good! Well flavored and well seasoned. I am looking forward to coming back to this food truck and trying more items!

This food truck made me finally make a Unilocal account, as they deserve a recommendation for they’re outstanding food and service.
I came by way of Unilocal searching, and there were a few people there already (good sign). I ordered the Smothered Pork Chops, Mac-​n-​Cheese, Seafood Rice, and Collard Greens– all delicious by the way– but the collards were out and it was about a 15 min wait :(. However, the ladies working we’re gracious enough to offer they’re delivery services– NO FEE :) — to my place by Pembroke Lakes Mall.
Food came in about 20 mins, hot, and tasted like the real deal. They deserve every star and I will be back to try everything on the menu– or have em bring it to me!
Oh, and don’t forget the Flop! Just get it, trust me.

I’m. A. FAN! This food truck is the B’ziness and I’m surprised that I’m the first one to write about them. Granny B’z has come a long way, they initially were just delivering and now have sprung into the food truck game with both sets up; ready to take on the competition.
They are typically parked in Pembroke Pines on the corner of Pembroke Rd & Douglas (in the Chevron Gas station lot). Sometimes they are in Miami as well on the lot of KOD’s. They are usually out and about Friday through Sundays and remain open pretty late. It is highly recommend to call them first and also to view there instagram page (@grannybz) to ensure there location for that day and to make sure they have what your interested in as sometimes they can sell out due to the high business throughout the day.
I have tried the following…
The Red Carpet which is red velvet waffles and chicken wings are fantastic; the waffles melt in your mouth and you immediately transport to your internal happy place as the waffle is soft and makes you feel like your eating a sweet cloud. The chicken wings are just as good — they are well seasoned and pretty big in size.
Fish, Shrimp and Grits — This dish has to be my favorite, the fish (Tilapia) is fair in size and is topped with red peppers and onions. It creates a nice blend of spices and the juice dripping off the fish can be placed on top of the grits which then takes the grits to a whole other planet. The shrimp are just as tasty and you are given a fair portion. The grits fill up the plate and everything just comes together so well. You can have to grits with or without cheese, my personal preference is without.
Salmon and Yellow Rice — Nice portion and always grilled to perfection with great seasoning. The salmon is always moist and the yellow rice is always seasoned perfectly.
Drinks — I have tried the flop and lemonade, the drinks are addictive and not too sweet. They are perfect for a summer day or to just compliment the gourmet meal that you were able to have.
The service is always about the customer and I have never had an issue. Please note that the food is cooked to order so please allow some time for it to be ready which usually is not that long. You have the option for delivery or to pick it up at the location there at. Granny B’z also has tables where you will be able to sit and enjoy your selections as well. I haven’t had there brunch specials yet but I have heard they are to die for. If you visit there instagram page you’ll be able to see the many dishes they create!
I highly recommend checking them out to fulfill your southern comfort meals, and when you do… you’ll thank me — because they B’z on point. (Let them know that I sent ya)
