Sfronia Cafe

Just dropped by at 5 pm on Friday, 4÷4÷14 and found the place locked up tight! No sign or note giving any info about closure. Unilocal shows that the restaurant is open. Was looking for some soul food!

Sometimes life has a way of guiding you to certain places. This was one of those places for us. We decided to go on a hiking adventure on the Metro North today. The train ride seemed long and made us hungry. We «yelped» a little brunch spot right near the train station, but when we arrived they were closed… thankfully. We decided to venture up the road towards the Blue Mountain Reservation and see what we could find along the way. That’s when we found Sfronia.
They have amazing food! I ate light because we were on our way to hike so I only ordered an order of cabbage and some rice and peas w/​curry gravy on the rice. Delicious!!! Cabbage was made with a little red pepper and it gave it just enough spice. The curry gravy was so good. I didn’t want it to end, EVER! My boyfriend order a small chicken, rice and peas, and a side of potato salad and loved every bite. His chicken had the curry gravy on it too. He loved the potato salad because its just like the kind he makes himself.
We finished our meals, went hiking then stopped back for dessert. I ordered the mango cheesecake and my boyfriend ordered the bread pudding. Both desserts were perfect portions and delicious. The guys working there were very friendly too. We will be coming back on more adventures.
Sorry for the book! I don’t usually write so much but what else am I going to do on the train ride home!!!

Excellent jerk chicken. Very good homemade desserts. Looking forward to trying more. The place is nice and clean, and staff is friendly. Nice addition to Peekskill.

Outstanding!!! Great selection of Caribbean & Soul Food! Everything is extra fresh & very very tasty! Service is mad cool. I can’t wait to go back and try some more of greatness they have to offer!
