I’m visiting from out of town and wanted to try Texan Bbq which i hear is all the rave! The ribs and brisket were tender however the sides were just ok. The potatoes were hard in the potato salad, the corn was pretty bland and the baked beans were overcooked and disappointing in flavor. I would come again if I just had a taste for the BBQ meat and Bbq sauce. But this place wouldn’t be my first choice. The food looks much better than the taste. Sorry guys.

I am usually pretty forgiving when it comes to food, but I tried Skeets for the first time yesterday and was shocked that I was unable to enjoy any of my meal. As a first timer, I ordered a pork rib dinner to go – a staple for any Texas BBQ joint, right? I selected potato salad and mac and cheese for my sides. Total bill was $ 12.94 which his kind of pricey for a single-serving BBQ plate. I made the short trip home and sat down to eat. The potato salad was ghastly. It was warm, flavorless, bizarrely white, just horrid. I spit out my first and only bite of it and then scraped it from my plate. The mac and cheese was clearly the Kraft boxed kind. Nothing to it. But they added some sort of seasoning to it that gave it a sweet/spicy after taste similar to chili paste(?) so they managed to mess up boxed mac and cheese. The pork ribs were ok… they were a bit underdone in some areas the a few pieces were extra fatty. Overall, it was hugely disappointing. I should have known. The place only had 2 customers when I popped in, but I attributed that to the rainy weather. Now I know better. I will not be back. Oh, wait. I did enjoy one part of my meal. The sliced pickles were excellent.

I’ve been to skeets often. Like the BBQ. The sauce is thin, but good. Went today to get three pounds of ribs, and they would only give me a little BBQ sauce. Forty five dollar of meat, but just a tiny bit of BBQ sauce. The manager confirmed that I would have to pay extra(even after paying $ 45 for meat) to get more BBQ sauce. I went next door to Smash burger and had their BBQ burger.

Nothing very special. I’d probably give this place 3 stars if the workers were a tab bit more friendly. On the«shut up and order» side, but not rude. Food is decent and they have decent drink specials.

Came here for lunch yesterday and ordered a baked potato with chopped beef. The baked potato itself was good but the BBQ sauce was very weird. The smell from the bar scene the night before is quite disturbing. It’s hard to enjoy your food when all you smell is cigarette smoke. Also, the restaurant itself just seemed very dirty. Will not be returning.

Our third and last time here! I ordered the brisket plate with two veggies. They served me slices of fat, which was awful! We were the only ones in there at 7PM on a Wednesday night! That should’ve been an indication that this place is in trouble! One of these days we’re going to get quality BBQ in the Silverlake area!

They aren’t lying, the ribs are tender luvin’ good. Great atmosphere, activities and a digital jukebox, and they play Cops Reloaded every Sunday! Needless to say, it’s my Pearland go-to.

don’t purchase their peach cobbler; its nasty. take a look at your kitchen sponge… yeah, that’s the texture of the bread that they use. furthermore, when asked for a refund – i was refused. as if i would eat all of that«scotch brite» breading then look to get a full refund –_– but hey this a non meat eater grading their dessert. i can’t speak for their bbq.

One of my favorites. I almost always get a backed potato with jalepeno sausage. This sausage is the be best in the city. It’s spicy and flavorful. The potatoes are big and loaded. You won’t need anything else. You’ll be full after one potato!

I picked up BBQ with all the sides from here the other day, and it was awful. First off, the 3 guys working there were more interested in watching the program they had on the TV vs. waiting on their customers. The potato salad had bad mayo in it and tasted like it was curdled. The meat had very little taste to it and they were very stingy with servings. Beans left a lot to be desired, they were bland with no flavor and to top it off the BBQ sauce tasted like tomato sauce and it tasted like they had poured the meat fat drippings in it for seasoning. If you want good bbq go someplace else. I wasted $ 40.00 here on my husband and I. We wanted to try a new place :((

Skeets is one of the closest BBQ restaurants to my house, so when I’m craving BBQ, I always come here. I’m not a big fan of meat so I usually get the loaded baked potato. Let me tell you, it is beyond good. I have had quite a few loaded potatoes in my life, but Skeets is particularly amazing. The potato itself is huge. Then, they load it up with sour cream, butter, bacon, cheese, and your choice of meat. I always get the chopped beef on mine. It’s a very thin kind of meat with no fat or gristle on it. Instead of putting BBQ sauce directly on it, they give it to you as a side item so that the customer can control how much they want to put on. I usually pour a pretty hefty amount on mine. I think the sauce is delectable. Smoky and sweet. Aside from the one amazing food item that I’ve had, the place itself isn’t that great. It’s in a strip center and definitely draws and older, tougher crowd. Not necessarily my kind of people.

The BBQ is all right but the cobbler makes up for it. Still a little pricey for what you get. For that price I will do down the road.

I’ve actually never ate their food before, but their bar is one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. Hands down. I know what you’re thinking, «how can this little neighborhood bar/restaurant be any good?» I thought the same thing too when my best friend took me here for the first time. I originally thought it was some boring Cheers 2.0 bar with boring old people and below average drinks. Boy, I was wrong. The clientele here are the nicest, most interesting, and social people you’ll ever meet. There are no stares, no snooty attitudes, no douche bags, no annoying hipsteresque pretension just everyday folks having fun on a Friday night. Expect a few people to buy you a drink! The bartenders are attentive and the drinks are strong. Skeets is a good choice for people who want a bar that’s near and isn’t filled with idiots.

I know my review is going to be a tad offbeat from what most people will rave about. This place has(hands down) one of the best ranch dressing recipes around. I always order the smoked turkey salad. My husband really likes their bbq because they smoke with pecan, and that is what he uses as well. I love the corn on the cob, beans, potato salad AND,(who can forget) the jalapeño cheese bread. Ask them to substitute that bread on your sandwich and they will. The peach cobbler is really good. My only complaint about the baked brownies is that they tend to absorb the smoked bbq smell from the restaurant.

Killen’s may have taken over BBQ in Pearland, heck even in Houston, but I still like coming to Skeets to get a good stuffed potato for lunch. OK, so it may be one ice cream scoop of butter, half a pound of cheese, and it can get soupy really fast if you let them top it off BBQ sauce, but what keeps bringing me back is the soft potato and the chopped beef I always get on it. I am not a fan of fatty meats and their brisket is pretty lean, while still being moist. I can’t vouch for anything else on their menu, because I only always get the stuffed potato with chopped beef when I come here, but you can bet I’ll be here instead of Killen’s on some days to fill my potato void.

We are regulars here but today was not their best day. We took a bite out of the jalepeno bread and saw mold. My bf took the bread to the counter to tell them and the first guy said«I don’t know ask manager» then we proceeded to tell the manager and he said«that’s just the jalapeño but I’ll give you new ones » umm I think we know the difference between fuzzy bread and a jalapeño. We won’t be returning.

Imagine that bbq can get 100 million times better than Skeets, that is Rudy’s. That is what my friend said. I can’t believe it because I thought Skeets was pretty good. What do I know about bbq? Absolutely nothing. And that is why I am giving Skeets four stars. I am not from Texas but I did enjoy my food from Skeets. That includes two pounds of brisket I smuggled on the plane and brought to New York. The loaded baked potato I bought for lunch lasted all about 10 minutes. I ate it. So. Fast. Everything is bigger in Texas. You know those styrofoam containers for to-go food? My baked potato was that big! It weighed about two pounds! Ice cream scoop of butter, sour cream, BACON, onions, and chopped beef… The potato was large and in charge. It was very good and I have no complaints about the watery bbq sauce. It was smokey and sweet, a nice touch overall. The brisket is delicious on its own. Skeets slices it very thin. It’s extremely tender. You don’t need a knife to cut it. I want more! For a casual fast food-ish bbq joint, Skeets is a decent spot. It’s close to home and will satisfy those bbq cravings. I can’t wait to try more TX bbq. $ 5 fix? Can’t beat that.
