The library isn’t overly large nor is it super tiny; it seems as it’s just right to some. There isn’t enough tables located in quiet areas. The children’s section wasn’t completely separated from the adult section as I could hear rambunctious kids talking oh so loudly and playing as if they don’t understand the concept of silence. It does seem like the selection of audiobooks and DVDs is far greater than what Parker Williams and Freeman library has combined. Though, this isn’t a Harris county library branch. I’m not sure if that’s the reason why they don’t have wifi for guests. The staff wasn’t very welcoming as when I walked in I wasn’t greeted, just stared at like I was an alien from outer space. However, one of the shelving assistant that had a Irish accent or British accent was polite and showed that she was friendly. They have early voting going on now in a separate room. There aren’t any tile floors just carpet and no bad odor inside. Also, the parking wasn’t limited meaning there is lots of spots available. It’s pretty convenient to find, if you’re traveling from Green Tee just drive straight onto Liberty Dr., it’s on the right side across from City Hall. Just off of 518, right before you get to the episcopal church.

This is a super small library compared to the one I’m used to, but they have an ok selection, and you can return books that you take out there at the westside location, which is a big plus for me since it is way closer to my house. Everyone is nice and helpful, and even though it is small I have never had a problem finding books I want or having them order stuff for me. In fact, its nice that it is not overwhelming… I like to go up and down the isles waiting for titles to jump out at me, and I have been able to find a couple of new series here that I really like… at my old library it would take to long to do that, it was better to go in there with something in mind. I like that they offer e-books although I haven’t downloaded any yet.

I haven’t checked out books from a library in years! I’ve been doing a lot more reading over the past few months and my mom suggested that I get a library card to save money and space in my house. The application process to get a library card is simple and takes 5 minutes or less. They give you the card right there on the spot. You can also set up an online account and link it to your card. They have a lot of titles. I love reading YA, crime, suspense, dystopian, biographies, etc. The majority of books on my to read list are available. If they are not at the Pearland branch, they usually are at another branch within Brazoria county. You can request books online or place your name on a waitlist if a book you want is checked out. When your request is ready for pick up, they give you a courtesy call. You can also check the status online. The library itself is nice and clean. The librarians are friendly and helpful too. I’m a huge fan of the self check out option. The librarians will check out books for you, but the self check out is so quick and easy. You scan your card, then scan your books and that’s it. You can print a receipt which will let you know when your books are due back. If you need to extend the due date you can do that as well(or online). It’s just so quick and easy. They also have different formats for borrowing(book, audio, electronic). Everytime I’m at the library, I notice there’s a good variety of ages. I thought there would be a lot of children there(especially with it being summer right now), but I see plenty of adults there too. I’m really glad to have a great library in this community.

I am not a thorough fan of the library as one could hope — much of my usage centers around my children. I do like that you can lookup material(books, dvds, etc.) availability online, and request material be sent to a closer branch. I periodically research titles, authors, and lists and have a fairly good chance finding them in the BCLS system. You can also download books to your ipad/iphone/android/kindle — but I haven’t done such myself. They have a good amount of kids activities at the various branches during the summer months. We’re regulars with the summer reading programs. You can check fliers and look online for information regarding summer activities. The staff is also friendly and helpful.
