Diamond in the rough. Found this place on Unilocal when we were trying to find something other than a chain/fast food restaurant near the Jackson Airport before our flight home. Fried catfish was wonderful! Cole slaw was delish, too! Don’t be taken aback by the outward appearance. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!

I believe I would give the food a 2.5 but since that’s not available, they got lucky with a 3. The food was OK, not rememberable, and I wish they had a 2pc catfish plate. The coleslaw was blah, the fries were blah, but the catfish was ok. Will I return? Probably not. If I’m in this area I would eat at Harvey’s fish place or moss creek fish place.

I got their 3pc catfish plate with coleslaw and hush puppies. 1st of all you get 3 good size of catfish(bigger than I thought I would). They was really good and hardly any catfish taste. Great batter and not greasy at all. 2nd the coleslaw was great as well, sweet like I like it. 3rd the hushpuppies was really good as well. 4th they threw in two pieces of bread, I don’t know why but hey I ate one slice. Polite/friendly service and good turnaround time when waiting on my to go meal. I’m a big believer in supporting local family owned businesses and not only is this a very good place to eat, I will be going back again for sure.

Great quality fish, great flavor, great sides and good customer service. So far I’ve had the chicken tenders, chicken wings, 4pc fried catfish order and the whole catfish order. I give each item an A+. I usually call in and pick my order up. So far I haven’t had to wait a long time. If they say 20 minutes then I wait 20 minutes and the food is ready when I pick it up. What makes it even better are the great prices. I’ve returned many times and I plan to continue to return. I’m sure you will enjoy Tony’s Fish House as well.

Awesome awesome and awesome! I want good food! The food is always fresh and delicious! The owner is very polite & always up for a little chit chap. This place, as humble as it is, is always busy because they serve good fresh food… that being said, I don’t mind waiting a few minutes for my food. I have nothing negative to say… DELISH!!!

The best catfish in the Jackson Metro area. This is not a place you go to sit or Waldorf Astoria service. This is an olé school hole in the wall fish joint. Call ahead if possible. The staff could improve on service, but if Tony is their just tell him. The owner is real approachable.

I only know one thing about Tony’s — they serve what is arguably the best fried catfish in the Jackson area. Our group had both filets and whole fish and all reports started at «Very good!» and went up from there. Mind you, it’s a basic fish house with no frills… just very good cathish!

I agree with the customer service, their was none. When I came inside the restaurant, there were two sets of customers. One was waiting for their food and the other is waiting to order. Their was no waitress at all, it was a one man operation. This was at 5:00 pm. I had to wait from Tony who was taking order from the phone and cooking at the same time. Oh the waitress/helper finally came in at about 20 minutes later I had the fried pan trout dinner(taste a lot better than a catfish), it was pretty good. As a matter of fact it was a decent dinner. The sides I had was salad and hush puppies. This place has a lot of potential but the owner has to hire some more people in order to make his customers satisfied and happy OR their customers will take there business somewhere else.

I have to give an o.k. rating and the reason is, the staff — the owner is real cordial, but for a new establishment I want that«wow» service. We arrived 20 minutes before closing and it seemed like we were not welcomed prior to closing. Once again for a new establishment, in this economy, when jobs are and dollars are hard to come by, I want to feel like the money I’m spending in an establishment is appreciated. With that said, the food is competitive with Valley Street Fish House, Harvey’s, Dixon’s and Eddie & Ruby’s, but I hope the owner addresses the staff about customer service, because the food is actually pretty good.
