Summer is definitely here or was here! What’s perfect for this hot humid weather? Well you don’t have to guess far, my favorite is icee slushy! I was in love with crack seeds icee slushy with soft serve vanilla ice cream and liquid li hing mui juice! Omg it was just heavenly and I use to get it every other day after work… But sadly they closed their business and just do online orderings.
So when I saw that they had icee slushy on their window I had to come in an try it. This place is located right next to pizza hut at the pearl highlands shopping center. I was lucky because I found parking right in front of the store (SCORE).
Walking in I see a few jars of pickled and dried fruits. I walked around and didn’t see any pickled mango, no pickled apricots (my fav) and well basically all just dried fruits. They didn’t have much to choose from and its a bit disappointing. But they do have a wide selection of ice creams and like I said they have icee!
I get to the cashier and she is so friendly and welcoming and ordered my strawberry icee with ice cream and li hing mui. They don’t have the liquid but they have the powder. I didn’t have enough cash so I asked if they had a minimum charge on credit cards (which I assume they do) but the cashier told me not to worry about it. So happy that she was very nice because it saved me a trip to an ATM! Along with my icee I found a last minute treat tamarind (candy with sugar sprinkled outside) totally it to $ 6.
The icee it took a while for me to enjoy because the ice cream kept clogging my straw and it took forever to melt. And the powder li hing mui was just terrible, it was very grainy and it seemed like it was really dried out and old. The tamarind was another disaster… With my luck I happen to get the spicy one with chili powder and I didn’t realize it until I took a bite out of it.
But with all that medicore treats I would still go back because the staff are nice. They have icee ;) and this is just a many last shops that we have that still carries li hing mui fruits and etc.
