Customer service needs to be improved. Stood at an empty counter for five minutes before ordering because one person was washing dishes and the other was«on break.» Sometimes service is quick and friendly, but every now and then I have a weird experience here. Nice decorating, lots of condiments, menu has variety, quality coffee. Just wish the staff was more personal.

Asked the worker if they had kona coffee. She looked at me funny and said no. So I ordered an Americano. Stirred my cream and sugar into my coffee while looking at a sign that said they offer 100% Hawaiian kona coffee. Confused. Lol. I’m glad they have this nice coffee shop on campus though. Very hipster. Love it.

I frequent this small coffee shop at my college campus. Recently the manager on staff has changed. This change had adversely affected the quality of customer service delivered by this institution. The friendly demeanor exhibited by the batistas has markedly decreased. Furthermore I was treated with disrespect by the manager when I requested my second refill of the day. The manager refused to charge me for a refill because I had thrown away my cup. I buy coffee from this place 3 times a day 3 days a week. Due to this event I have elected to buy from Starbucks regardless of the higher price and inconvienence. I know several other customers share this sentiment.

I always get an iced green tea latte from here. They taste more like milk rather than green tea. This time I ordered a croissant & I did not get it. I waited about 10 minutes & I still didn’t get it. My total was a little over $ 10. I ended up rushing to class because I didn’t want to be late. The workers made some eye contact with me, but didn’t engage with me standing right in front of them. I will not be ordering a food item again.

NOSTARS. Horrible service, horrible drinks. 3⁄5 times I go there my drinks are never full and they give me dumb looks when I address it. Trash.

Music’s way too loud. Waaaaaay too loud. I guess they don’t want you to stay here too long and study, just drink your smoothie and get the f@#$ out. Besides this, quite good service, good coffee and açai bowls.

For a campus coffee shop, it’s a lot better than I expected. I’m a student worker on campus so I come by very often but the very first time I came, I was pleasantly surprised. To me this is what a cute little coffee shop should look like. Someone knew what they were doing with the interior and it’s not just a little dinky stand on a college campus. It’s very cute in my opinion but also hip looking and the lighting is low which gives off a very comfortable feel. I would probably come back here even if I wasn’t working on campus or in school. Their food items are alright. I’ve had various muffins, a bagel, and brownies but my favorite is the turkey panini and I add pesto. *Thumbs up* It’s a bit pricy but not too bad. Plus, I can’t stand walking all the way down the noisy campus cafeteria especially since they don’t accept card and I have to go and pull from the ATM. Kimo Bean accepts cards thankfully and the location is so convenient. As for drinks, I love getting either teas or the different freezes. My favorite is the Cookies and Crème Freeze. I can’t get something like that anywhere else, not since Gloria Jean shut down in Pearl Ridge. Problem is, like another Unilocaler mentioned, the quality changes between the people who make drinks. When it first opened, I got the Cookies n Crème Freeze religiously. It was amazeballs, strong coffee taste, not too sweet, but very cookies n creamy… if that makes sense. Then that tall guy with the glasses left and at some point, either the recipe changed or it was just the person making it… but it has been coming out way too sweet. I started needing to add an extra shot and I avoided the chocolate drizzle and whipped cream to keep it tasting like coffee. If you notice in one of my other reviews, I just can’t eat or drink things that are too sweet. I can’t even force myself too. Thus, I know there is a definite difference because I had been ordering that for so long with no issue, and all of a sudden it was so sweet I couldn’t drink it. Overall though, I really like the drinks and they are definitely better than Starbucks. I don’t know if it’s because they use Kona Coffee in everything or what but I somehow feel that the drinks don’t taste like… mass-produced ingredients that have filler or whatnot in order to cut costs. You know what I mean? I like when my drinks taste real or «fresh» and not as if they were made from a bunch of syrups and powders. Kimo Bean does not have that off taste that I have noted from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.(Now that’s one place I will stay away from if I want good coffee or good tasting mixed coffee drinks.) All in all, I technically would like to give Kimo Bean 4.5 with only a .5 lost for the differing drink quality, but I’m unable to do that with Unilocal.Having to add a shot every time has been costing me extra and when you go every day so you have something to drink at work, the extra starts to add up. I think next time I will ask how they make it and if they put some kind of liquid sweetener I will ask for way less so I don’t have to up the espresso. If they can do that for me, I will definitely be satisfied and add the last star :)

This was my first time here. I don’t attend this college but I just wanted to try someplace new. Happy, friendly workers. Helpful with answering questions I had about the menu. Looks like lots of students study in here. I ordered the iced mocha latte, it’s delicious! Very similar to the iced mocha I get from island vintage coffee.

I am a student that is on campus once it opens until it closes; so if I need a coffee fix or a quick snack to eat, I usually just go to Kimobean. The prices on the drinks and food are a little pricey, but that’s what we would expect from a coffee shop. I’ve tried every panini and muffin they have, but the veggie panini and banana nut muffins are the best. If you’re trying to decide on a «freeze,» their white mocha with a fresh shot is amazing! if you don’t like coffee, they also have smoothies and fruit freezes. I like the strawberry lemonade fruit freeze but it’s a little too tart for the average taste buds. Other than their products, Kimobean has a bunch of tables for students to park it for studying. The workers are pretty cool and they play a wide range of music, it just depends on who is working at the moment. I love kimobean!

Located within the library, this coffee shop is one of the best places to study on campus. I normally stay here for hours! the employees here are very friendly and have no issue with you eating your lunch in here(as long as you buy something). The noise level is definitely less than what you would normally get at the cafeteria or the student lounge, and it definitely smells better. The drinks here are great, but there is also a decent variety of food items as well, muffins, croissants, and acai bowls. The mocha freeze(like a Frappuccino) is super creamy, and it’s my go-to when i want my chocolate/coffee fix, definitely worth a try.

Koko mocha freeze mmmmm so yummy! You have to get it with whip cream though because it makes it just that much more awesome. Great place to stop by when you’re feeling a little sluggish. Kimo bean gets the job done for me!

Located in the lcc library. You’ll see it right in the front. It’s very convent if you go to school here. Actually you don’t even have to go to school here, just park in the school parking lot and head to the library. I actually like their drinks here rather than Starbucks. It seems less… How do you say overrated and more underrated?

I would have given this coffee shop at least 5 stars if my first experience was anything to write home about. It wasn’t. The first time I went there were four people working. Two girls were on the side standing and talking. One guy was taking orders at the register and the other girl was toasting bagels. It was 3pm when I went and there was a very, very long line. No one was making drinks. By the time the guy realized that all the girls were doing other stuff, he then scrambled to make drinks so that people didn’t have to wait so long. He didn’t write names on the cups so he began to just call out whatever people ordered. He didn’t rinse some of the containers out either before he started to make another blended drink. Personally, if I was like the girl in the front of me, who ordered a red velvet something drink, I would not want traces of green tea in it. I didn’t pay for a sloppy job. I paid for 100% of my drink and expect only that flavor of drink in my cup. Fifteen minutes later my order was up. It was disappointing. It was mainly ice and milk. The guy tried to be funny as he handed it to me. It was supposed to be white chocolate but I tasted nothing of the sort in there. If my review ended here, then I’d rate them one star. Kimobean can thank their barista Nick for the extra two stars. I went back to try an acai bowl. I’m an acai fan and I know the difference between a nasty flavor and a super good one. Nick was awesome! He took my order and then informed me that the bananas were green and didn’t want to serve me green bananas. He offered to put extra strawberries instead. I liked that he came up with a solution when there was a problem. Honestly, his acai bowl was beyond my expectations. It was so good!!! He also had put extra granola to make up for the bananas. I appreciated that. Now I only order when Nick is working. I like to get good quality tasting drinks. Three stars for you!

I was excited to try this place out because they had pretty good reviews. I was recommended to try the koko mocha, and it was okay… The mocha was very overpowering, I could hardly taste any«koko»(which I think is supposed to be coconut). 2nd time around I ordered an iced chai latte and was really disappointed to see that they made it out of a powdered chai mix, rather than a liquid chai concentrate. It was basically just milk and powder, and the powder collected at the bottom. IMO, they’re pricier than Starbucks, and Starbucks has better tasting drinks. It’s not thaaaaaat bad, but I still much prefer Starbucks or coffee bean over kimobean.

KiMOBEAN is an awesome place. I love the fact that it is locate on LCC and the prices maybe over price but reasonable, being an on campus shop. I love that they toast your bagels, croissants are very savory, and a blended cookies and cream coffee is my go to. Only comments I really have to say are that they only have 2 workers working at a time so patience is necessary as a customer and the line does get a bit long. Other than that, it’s an amazing coffee shop and check it out ^_^

As the newest food and beverage place on LCC’s Pearl City campus, Kimobean is a welcome change of pace from the usual campus fare, but not much of a difference in price. Located near the entrance of the new Learning Commons(formerly the first floor of the library), Kimobean is a coffee/snack place. Their menu of food items is smaller than Starbucks’, but their drinks offerings are pretty much the same. Espresso shots, blended, fruity, and tea-flavored drinks are all available. There are baked goods for sale like muffins, croissants, and bagels. The food selection is limited to breakfast sandwiches, but I suppose that was one of the stipulations for being on a campus with a cafeteria. Wifi is available and free, just like everywhere else on campus, and there are little tables and a wall bench inside if you want to get that«Oh ho! Look at me with my laptop and hipsterish ways in the coffee shop» feel. Prices are… eeeh…I would like a little more quality or selection for the price(~$ 5 – 7 usually), but if you don’t want to leave campus for a coffee fix… Acai bowls are available here, and are around $ 8-$ 9 for a large cupful. I wanted to try one, but they were out of acai last time I went. Mochi ice cream from Bubbies is sold there as well, so if you want that cold/sweet goodness grab a few or opt for their individual pieces. I’ve tried their regular coffee, and I’m not much of a coffee connoisseur, so. it was like coffee :/. Their blended chocolate thing(I forget the exact name, but it was a non-coffee blended drink) was alright. It was described to me as being«like a shake». I freakin love milkshakes, so that was setting the bar really high for me. It was more like… a chocolate soymilk slushie, nah’mean? It had like a watery consistency like soymilk when I was expecting cream but. ah, you live and you learn, ay? Workers are alright, I’ve experienced either a «merp» kind of attitude or really enthusiastic/helpful baristas. Nothing to complain about, just how it’s been every time I’ve gone. Bottomline: Quality and price are wavering at the 3-star mark, service is alright.

This place it pretty good. I enjoy their smoothies and and fruit freezes. I think their green tea smoothie is really good. I definitely like it more than Starbuck’s green tea frap. However the quality might vary from whoever makes it. When they first opened on our campus I ordered the green tea smoothie, it was initially okay but it was quite watery. So I waited a week before I went again and I ordered the green tea smoothie again to see if the flavor improved. Turned out the guy who made my second one was really awesome. The flavor was perfect, I seriously never tasted anything that good before in terms of drinks with exception to first time tastes, because first time tastes can either be really impressive or not impressive. This was a second taste I glad I got. This guy was also kinda artsy I guess because he really made mine presentable. I really enjoyed it. So yup I’m a fan! So 4 stars! XD

What Kimobean lacks in corporate size, it makes up for in quality. At this store you get a quality that far surpasses anything you can get at a Starbucks. AND all of their coffee is from Hawaii! Trying to go back to Starbucks after having a blended coffee freeze at Kimobean would be like trying to enjoy a greasy McDonald’s cheeseburger after eating at Assagios. The warm and inviting atmosphere, as well as the personal touch that the workers exude here is unmatched by any large coffee franchise. Every time I choose Kimobean, I am greeted with a «hi how are you?» by the pretty workers, who then take the time to answer my questions and make a great quality drink. Though they may be in a rush to get to the long line of customers behind me, I always feel at home. Another exciting thing to note about this new store is that it seems that most of their food products are made inside the store. In the afternoon there is the smell of warm fresh brownies or cookies in the air. The taste would rival that of your mother’s recipe. Give it a try and you’ll be grateful that the school chose Kimobean and not a Starbucks as the on campus Coffee/study lounge. These people know their coffee!
