We were in town to visit Moore State Park and we’re looking for a nice place to grab lunch. This was a pleasant surprise– bright and clean, cheerful and attentive staff. The menu was pretty much what you’d expect from a breakfast & lunch place and the food was great– turkey club sandwich was excellent. But here’s where it got really good. The home made rice pudding was absolutely the best I’ve had. It wasn’t the usual diner slop– rice with vanilla pudding and cinnamon. This was the real deal, a perfect creation using wholesome natural ingredients– eggs, cream, milk, vanilla, sugar, etc. I couldn’t tell you the exact recipe, but if you’re a foodie and are fond of rice pudding, Theo’s is the spot.

Happened to be in the area around lunch time and decided to give Theo’s a try. We were happy we did. Great service and great food. I’d certainly like to try them for breakfast some time.

We moved to Paxton in Novemer, and with that, discovered this place was within walking distance from our house. The food is exactly what one would hope to find at a diner, and the owners, who you can also see in the back cooking, know the difference between an over easy and a fried egg. The prices are certainly reasonable, and I’ve yet to have to wait in a long line to get a table there on a weekend morning.

I’ve been living in the area for the better part of 20 years. Naturally, this location has had several owners and operators over that time… finally…GOLD! TIP– If you haven’t been here since the new owners took over in the last couple of years you really need to go back. Granted, the previous owner seemed as if he was living in bizarro world where everything is the opposite of how it is in regular world. Breakfast is hot in regular world, breakfast is cold in bizzaro world, etc. The family that owns and staffs Theo’s are extremely warm and friendly. Now, I admit, friendly doesn’t fill the gaping hole in your Sunday morning belly but it sure goes a long way to put a smile on your face as you wait for your first cup of coffee. Speaking of coffee — –are you kidding me??? The team here is more attentive than a a car salesman on the last day of the month… but I LOVE it. I defy anyone to take more than two healthy sips of coffee and NOT have someone come over and«top you off.» The coffee is great and probably because they don’t keep it in the pot long enough to let is get stale. It’s FRESSSHHHH I tells ya! The breakfast choices are delightfully hipster free! Please Please Please don’t try to make breakfast«cool». It’s all we have left. Breakfast should be dorky, predictable and delicious. If I see one more bag of rocks on TV telling me that I haven’t had a real breakfast until I’ve had my eggs with a steaming side of bone marrow I’m going to by a case of Pop tarts™ and end it all. Back to the food… It’s excellent. I’ve had the omlets, the french toast, the egg sandwiches and the pancakes. They are all great… they taste awesome, the look awesome, they digest comfortably and with great compassion. They also have this thingy that they call hashbrowns but they are more like giant freaking awesome grilled potato pancakes. Mashed potatoes with my omlet… your damn right I’ll take that and a box of frogs and call it a day. —I just reread my review and changed my score from four stars to five stars. I mean, what the heck else am I looking for here. The prices are«please don’t go out of business» cheap, everyone seems really happy to see you and there are PLENTY of seats. Go to Theo’s. You must go to Theo’s.

Will be coming here every time I visit family in the area. Pros: — Cheap. So so so cheap. I got some fries and a BLT for ~$ 5. I come in from Manhattan, and am used to much higher prices, so I found the prices here amazing. — High quality food — Quick service Cons: — The interior is tackily decorated — The wait staff doesn’t seem to be capable of smiling — Seriously, the interior decoration here needs a makeover. But the Cons above are nitpicky– this is an excellent location.

Our weekend spot. We go in and my husband gets the breakfast sandwich each week without fail. I usually get a pancake and a scrambled egg because I can’t decide. Their hash browns are different — more like fried mashed potatoes. I had a grilled muffin this morning that I wish I had bought four more of — it tasted like cake. The ladies who work there are so nice and the owners are always cooking in the back smiling and saying hello to us as we come in. Great local feel. Wish they would serve some sort of fruit or fruit cup though! :-(

Can’t beat the value for breakfast. My daughter gets a Mickey Mouse pancake with whipped cream and syrup for $ 2…and its a big pancake too. I’ve dabbled across the whole menu… it’s all delicious. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for a tasty breakfast with great service and even better prices.
