Apex

This store really sucks, looks like close out merchandise left over from Savers or Salvation Army. Do yourself a favor, stay away.

I not usually review stores, but oh my god I must do this one! Ok it’s awful! Nobody even in the dark dreary badly done space… was horrific, Lots
of pots and pans for sure and glassware, but WTH $ 40 – 100 for a fan? This is not a department store, this is a hot mess… I will never be back!

Believe it or not. I always find what I’m looking for when I go here. Nice staff and good prices. All kinds of cooking supplies!

Sweet Jesus, this place is scary. The Apex is now home to the main branch of the Rhode Island DMV. Parking is a nightmare. The lines are long and move slowly. The internal layout is confusing; there are spooky reminders all over that this was once the best department store in the area. It’s all dead now and resembles a movie set that might have been used in «The Shining». I can’t blame the employees of the RI DMV for being pissy sometimes… look at what they have to work with here. The computers are ancient, the customers are surly… and yet they handle their job with as much speed, efficency, and personality that they can muster under the circumstances.
The Apex is a supremely depressing experience. The long lines and desperation demonstrate what life must have been like in communist Russia.
Fortunately they’ve opened a «fast lane» DMV at the major AAA in Providence, so you can take your renewals and such over there now. Avoid the Apex, but say a prayer for the poor, brave souls who work there every day.
