The Art of Healing

I was recommended to this place by a person who says her knee problems were greatly improved by the services she obtained here. My problem is tendonitis in my right arm, which according to my doctor can only be cured with rest. But I thought it was worth a shot and the 75 bucks they charge for a first appointment, if only to satisfy my friend who was insistent that I must try it.
It was a complete waste of money.
I made a 2PM appointment with the Managing Director, Bill Bubenicek. When I arrived at 2:00 he was behind the front desk eating. He handed me a form to fill out and continued to eat while conversing with a person later identified as one of his «independent contractors.» I later learned from Bill (as he conversed with another contractor while giving me my treatment) that none of the people working there actually work for him, although they cater to his «clients.» During their discussion they talked a lot about one of these contractors who had stood up a number of clients over the last couple of days and was not responding to attempts to reach her.
Bill attempted to diagnose my condition despite my assurance of what it is — tendonitis. He tested for something that is caused by tension and another caused by something misaligned in my shoulder. All that came from these tests was some pain where I’d previously had none. Then I was told to lie face-​down on a massage table and he began applying pressure to the area between my shoulders and back, which caused pain down each arm. I have no idea why he was doing this. Later came a lot of poking and rubbing around my elbow, also painful to me, and then a lot of rubbing of a tendon above my elbow. He never really touched the areas that I described as being where the pain was. The little red «cold laser» lilghts were pointed at me a few times, and he said «let’s let that cook a while» while he went off to answer phone messages and make calls. And pee — clearly heard through the restroom door. All this was while I was face-​down and could not see what was being «treated» by the cold laser.
Bill was sure to tell me about the $ 20,000 he paid for his cold laster device and the science behind the use of it to heal by addressing the vibration of cells. What a lot of clap-​trap. I don’t know who is the bigger sucker — someone allowing Bill to «treat» him with this thing or Bill for continuing to pay for updates to the huge manual that came with the device — my guess is the former, since we’re the ones paying Bill.
After 30 – 40 minutes of treatment I was told to sit up and assess my arm. I was in a lot more pain than I’d been when I walked in. I was told that this is not uncommon, but tomorrow I should feel a lot better and, if I do not, to come back next week for a second treatment «on me». I paid him his $ 75 fee. It was weird seeing a business owner giving me change by pulling a wad of cash out of his pocket — like dealing with a vendor at a flea market. From what I could see there was no record kept of my being there other than the form I filled out when I first arrived.
The following day my arm was more sore than it’s been all week. Why would I subject myself to more of this, even at no cost to myself other than my time and the gas required for the 30-​minute each-​way drive to the «office»? Bottom line — I won’t. Instead I’ll use that time to give my arm some much-​needed rest.

My little 4 lb Chihuahua K., along with her other congenital issues, has now hurt herself and is afraid to walk on hardwood floors. It seems she has a bit of a slipped disk in her lower back. We had taken her to our holistic vet for acupuncture but being a little restless the needles kept falling out so it was not the optimal situation for her to get ultimate benefit from the session. Our wonderful vet then suggested we take K to The Art of Healing for some cold laser treatment. I had heard of cold lasers before, as my friend’s dog gets such treatments and is doing well, but for K I was a little pessimistic. But once I met Bill and felt his aura, I knew K would be in good and competent hands. His practice sees both people and pets!
He first used an Activator which is a spring loaded device which delivers precise energy to stimulate the nerves and promote healing. K was a sport about it as it must have been a little scary for such a small dog since there is an audible so close to her ears. But since it was topical, it was completely noninvasive and therefore she did not have to keep still.
Then he brought out the cold laser machine which was directed on her back. It was like Laser Pink Floyd from the old Hayden Planetarium in the 80s ;))), but miracle of miracles, she was able to walk (much better and in general) after her treatment! I would never have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes. I realize she needs a few more treatments but his prices are very fair and it worked! And he was super nice and I am sure there is much more knowledge about this type of therapy and other less «traditional» treatments to be gleaned from this guru of alternative therapies!
