Ordered matzoh ball soup if you want to call it that. The ball was the size of a ping pong ball when questioned was told the cups got bigger! Bs at its best. Asked for a corn muffin made today. Only stale plastic wrapped available. You want it toasted? Yikes. Gotta leave this place

I always liked this place I been stopping there on my way up and down to upstate for five years at least Noticed lately that the food and service has been dropping off Tonight I was told that they run out of coffee When I asked how is that I was given a lecture on cost and having fresh coffee on hand This is a diner open 24⁄7 Right ? I never heard something so rediculous And to argue with a customer over it ? If your cutting corners on the coffee I gotta wonder what corner was cut on my burger Because when they cut corners They don’t stop at one

Yikes, this place is not good. Got the Texas burger. Would you like the regular or deluxe? Mmm interesting, whats in the deluxe? The deluxe comes with lettuce and tomato and fries. …the deluxe comes with lettuce and tomato… what? I guess those staples to a burger are a little too high-end for the standard. So I get the burger, and like 10 french fries. Actually, let me rephrase that. I got like 10 slices of potato. These bad boys were almost white they were so raw. If I had the choice of having that same meal again or going hungry i’d chose hunger in a second.

The staff is great. Alicia and Harry are top notch, as are the rest of the staff. That is why I come back time and time again. The food is as good as the service. I don’t ever recall having a bad experience. I’m greeted warmly when i walk in. Great job!

I have been here a number of times, it is a frequent dinner spot for my family and I. The staff is always helpful as my mother and I have very restrictive food allergies. And the food is usually good, sometimes a little over cooked but not bad. That is until tonight. My parents and I went to have a nice relaxing dinner. My mom saw something she was interested in and asked the waitress if there was flour, corn starch or any type of coating in the veal. The waitress asked both the chef and the manager, and they said no. So she ordered it with double sauteed spinach(we have a potato allergy in addition to others) and I ordered their Romanian Steak, medium rare, like I usually do with double mixed veggies. When our dinner came out my Romanian Steak was not medium rare but medium well to well done. My mother’s veal came out and the gravy looked thick so she asked the waitress to check with the chef again… as the waitress checked my mom scrapped some type of coating off of the veal. When it was mentioned to the waitress she told us again that there was no coating or flour or corn starch. So my mom starts to eat it and can clearly taste something coating the veal. The manager came over and started making a scene going on about how there’s none of this and none of that and he didn’t want to have his customers sick, going on and in upsetting my mother and basically ruining what was supposed to be a nice meal. He told my mother that he would take the veal off the check, but when the check came the veal was still there and there was a charge for 2 sauteed spinach. The check was fixed, but I am not sure I will be returning for how my mother was treated.

We came to celebrate a birthday with some friends, and left amazed by the great atmosphere awesome service. Our waiter extraordinaire, Nate, went above and beyond the usual call of duty, adding his creative touch to every order. Friendly, quiet, quick service as well as great food is how we would describe Putnam Diner. We will definitely be returning again and again, and recommend it to anyone passing through the area. We love you, Nate!?

Who knew there was a Patterson in NY? I certainly didn’t! I found myself on the road on my way to Massachusetts and made a pit stop at Putnam Diner & Restaurant for some much needed breakfast. Now, I knew I made the right decision when I walked in and there was a sign saying they had pumpkin spiced waffles & pancakes available. Our lovely waitress, Lisa, came over and greeted us and was genuinely such a nice person to talk to. I ordered the eggs benedict, without asparagus, and we shared a pumpkin spiced waffle. The coffee was okay, but nothing to rave about. The food was absolutely delicious and very filling. My favorite part was the pumpkin spice waffle. I would go back to Patterson just for those! It’s your typical diner, but I would check it out again if I were to ever find myself in the area again.

I was there over the weekend with my wife and we ordered coffee and a english muffin. The coffee was good and the muffin was under toasted and dredged in butter. The bill came to $ 6.00 and we felt it just was not worth the money. The place was clean and the waitress was nice, just pricey.

Won’t be back. Simple breakfast food was subpar. Most inattentive service I’ve ever received. Never saw our server again after food was served. Eventually had to go to the counter and ask to pay and leave. Only good thing… the fish pond.

This is a good stop if you are looking for good simple food at very fair prices. Nothing will blow you away, but there is little to complain about. Breakfast items are fresh and the portions large. Service is more laid back than slow, but it’s not the place to eat if you’re in a rush.

Typical diner experience here, everyone was friendly. Not going to go on at length, since there was nothing special about this place. If you are hungry though and in the area, this place is doable for a lack of a better option.

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had a complaint. This is the only restaurant that uses filet mignon for the Southern Fried Steak. George, I think he’s a manager or should be, I’ve known him from the restaurant for years he is so professional and courteous. He remembers my order to the letter. Folks, there’s not a restaurant that is consistent in every category. Sometimes it’s the food, then it’s the décor or staff that’s not up to par, but this restaurant is one of my favorites in Putnam county, let me say within 30 miles because I live in Dutchess and I still come here. I’m not paid, nor do I get compensated with free food for writing this review. I’m doing it because they, especially George deserves to be acknowledged.

My first experience of many, consisted of an egg salad sandwich a la hair and fuzz. Disgusting! And this is how patient I am. After the first little hair, I thought«Hey, things like this happen. It’s just one little hair.» Picked it out. Looked closer. IT’S ASIFTHEYDROPPEDTHESANDWICHUNDERTHECOUNTER! I had already eating a ¼ of it. I turned green. I didn’t complain because I was with my mother, aunt and grandmother whom frequent this local diner a lot. I didn’t want to hurt their feelings. I just said I was full. And, unfortunately, this meant we would return over and over again. The service is friendly enough and one of the pluses is that it’s handicap accessible for my grandmother. We always get the big back room which is great for the babies and grandma(great-grandma). But the food, when not covered in hair, is just ok. Battered blah onion rings. Grilled cheeses are alright. There aren’t many choices in the area, but if you can skip it SKIPIT! If you can make the trip, go to McKinney & Doyle/Corner Bakery in Pawling.

Good diner food. Will definitely be back. Been twice, once for an early dinner, once for breakfast. Sausages are plump.

I like the food but watch out. They charge about 5.00 for a glass of iced tea and then charge you for refills. When I complained, they said they hear that allot. Thank goodness I only had one refill but over 20.00 for iced tea, it was more than the meal. Shame on you Putnam Diner. We will no longer be eating there

Good diner. Friendly service. Excellent fries & turkey burger. Milk shakes too. Good for groups. Average prices. Lots of choices which is typical of a diner. Fresh coffee. Clean. Private parking lot.

Just an average diner in my experience. Not good, not bad. Just not the right one for me. They were super sweet and accommodating to our dietary requests but unfortunately we were very limited in what we could eat. I am sure it is a wonderful place for others who enjoy it very much but for us it would do in a pinch. We had breakfast there. Perhaps there are more options available for lunch and dinner. Maybe they are deserving of another chance since they were so nice?
