Taste of Poland probably gets Eastern Europeans super psyched. It gets me who is unfamiliar with Polish stuff a little overwhelmed. The strip mall location is tiny, no seats and choc full of all types of polish goods. Beer, Bread, candy, a variety of Kielbasa and a small buffet.
The menu behind the counter is posted on the wall and pretty basic. I went with some Pierogies. 8 Pieces for 3.99 $ they are listed as «Pierogie of the day.» Today was your basic potato and cheese. I was struck by how they are steamed? I’ve had ‘em in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. They were fried and awesome. By appearance they seemed bland. I brought ‘em home, ate ‘em, Marveled at the simple yet polish blast of flavor. so delicious. Somehow the steaming involved onion.
They offer a really nice variety plate, hunter Stew (kielbasa w/​sauerkraut) Kielbasa, a couple Pierogies, stuffed cabbage– 7.99. Word on the street Breakfast is fantastic too.
