This review is for agent Robert Sousa of Merrill & Associates Real Estate in Paso Robles, California. Robert has represented us as first time home-​buyers for the past few months and thanks to Robert, we are close to closing escrow on our first home.
My husband and I have very different ‘home shopping’ personalities, and Robert was exceptionally perceptive and thoughtful in working with us. My husband spent lots of time searching the online portal and wanted to consider and discuss EVERY property. Robert always responded on the same day with in-​depth pros and cons about each house that caught our eye.
I had LOTS of questions and nerves about every tiny detail. When we did home tours, Robert was incredibly knowledgeable in pointing out things that might increase maintenance or costs. He was candid and honest in telling us when he thought a home wouldn’t make us happy in the long run. When I made comments about knocking out walls, changing floors, or painting walls, Robert had recommendations for costs and reliable companies. He even had tips for choosing and buying a reclaimed barn door, when I mentioned wanting to add one!
We had lots of questions, wanted to know everything, and wanted to see everything. Robert really understood our ‘personality quirks’. He respected our needs and our limits. He gave little extra tips and thoughtful gestures that helped to keep the process stress-​free. We can’t thank him enough!

I found Robert on Unilocal and decided to give him a call after reading his reviews and what a great idea that was! I’m a fellow Real Estate agent in Northern California so I expect a lot. First thing was the return phone call just a short time after leaving a message, this is important when hiring an agent. He was very professional and said he would go to the property that I wanted to list and do a market analysis for me. That CMA came back very fast and was very detailed. He explained the market in the Paso area because he knows it so well. I listed with him and he was able to sell a, not so pretty house in a realistic time period. I was very fortunate to find Robert and you will not be disappointed to hire him to buy or sell. He is a VERY competent Realtor that takes his job very serious. Great guy!

I have to echo all the other amazing reviews on this page. Robert Sousa is the BEST! He goes above and beyond to make sure every aspect of a real estate transaction progresses as smoothly as possible. Robert listened to everything we had to say and really took the time to understand what we were looking for. We found our dream listing the day it went on the market and were so disappointed to hear that the owners were going to wait a week before they started showing it. Knowing us as well as he did, Robert was able to speak to the listing agent and communicate all the ways that he thought we would be great buyers for the property. An hour later, the owners called and invited us to see it! We were amazed and I still can’t believe how lucky we are to be living in our dream home. Robert seriously wants the best for his clients and won’t hesitate go to bat for them. You could not do any better than to give him a call. THANK YOU, ROBERT!!!

I am so happy that Rob helped us find our next home! We started the process knowing we wanted a 4bdrm home and more land, but were otherwise uncertain of exactly what we wanted. Rob patiently answered our many MANY questions, laughed with us, and viewed many properties with us – even when we wanted to see more houses in the middle of escrow. We are absolutely delighted with how smoothly our transaction went, despite the challenges of buying a fixer-​upper (lots of construction quotes were required). Rob is quick to respond to messages, keeps things on track, and, above all, seeks the satisfaction of his customers. He also gave us great referrals to a network of all sorts of different tradespeople for the many improvements being made in our new home. Rob is the total package — easy to talk to, happy to help, honest, experienced, and effective. I look forward to the next time we work together!

I found Robert on Unilocal in the Paso Robles top Realator’s section and he was the best find ever!!! We highly recommand Robert now and in the future for any Real estate transaction you have in Paso Robles area. He is very, very professional, extremely knowledgeable, proficient and gets the job DONE what ever it takes. Responds to phone calls and emails a.s.a.p. which is also deeply appreciated. Unfortunately the sellers agent was NOT professional and was not responsive or helpful in the transaction at all, therefore Robert did all the work on both sides, thats how hard he works to get the job done and then some!!!
We really appreciate all your hard work Robert and will be using you for our next home and referring you to all of our friends.

Robert has guided us through the (intimidating) gauntlet that is purchasing your first home! Always readily available to answer any number of the oddball questions that we have had for him (the man is a saint!); his vast knowledge of the area helped us narrow in on the perfect home for us!
During the «searching process» he sat down with us and really got to know ‘exactly’ what we were looking for (Robert helped us explore areas of Paso to really get a feel for what we were looking for), not to mention he was more than patient and helpful in showing us properties (at the tune of showing us nearly a hundred units).
Picking out what makes a good first home is such a daunting and involved process and we could not have asked for a better person to accompany us on that journey!
