Boat Doc The

My outboard quit running. I took it to the boat doc. They told me I needed a new power head and the cost would be more than the engine was worth. They also told me there was no compression in one cylinder. I opted to get a second opinion due to the motor running perfectly fine before briefly overheating as I knew it never got hot enough to do any damage. When I picked up the motor, the chump tried to buy it off me but claimed he didn’t know what it was worth. How do you spend your life repairing outboards n not know their value? He mentioned wanting to put it on his duck hunting boat and how he could fix it n make it worth his while due to being in the business and being able to get parts cheaper. I knew it was all bs and took it to Daniel at speed marine. Daniel replaced the head gasket and thermostat and had me back on the water running great for 50 bucks. Oh yeah the compression was excellent in both cylinders. Don’t trust these guys. I later found out these guys, are notorious for this kinda stuff in North slo county.

We have now taken two different freshwater bass boats to this place for repairs and every time we are told ‘the problem is fixed’ and it isn’t. We get charged, of course, and then we have to haul it all the way back over the Grade because ‘this time’ they are going to ‘really fix it’. .. for another bill of several hundred dollars. This has now cost us thousands of dollars.
Today was the last straw. First, he could not find our paperwork on his desk and he could not find our information in his ‘program’. After standing around for 15 minutes while he fumbled through his pile of disorder, an employee in the back located us on the computer. As we forked over ANOTHER $ 355, I asked what our recourse was if the boat was still not fixed. He said we’d have to bring it back so he could take it on the lake to check it out. Not «it’s finally fixed», mind you, because he finally admitted he doesn’t even know what is wrong with it!
At this point, I think this ‘Doc’ needs to be sued for ‘malpractice’. He is a charlatan and a conjurer. We didn’t know this because there was no Unilocal review before ours but now that we know of his reviews on Yahoo, we are *not* surprised. (

I emphatically can _​NOT_​recommend this place. Learn from our very costly mistake and stay far away from this Mock Doc.
