Came here to use their internet to print out paperwork for my mother in law and I’m just baffled that they allow homeless drug addicts in their premises to sit in the couches and chairs. The reason why this bugs me the most is these drug addicts are in and around kids.

Being a complete nerd and a total bookworm I was excited to get a library card and check out books instead of being impatient and spending too much money buying them at a bookstore. When I walked into this library I literally wanted to cry. The selection compared to the Kennewick and Richland branches is pitiful. Their section of novels are so incredibly miniscule and if you blink you’ll miss their non-fiction section. They did seem to have a fair amount of computers. Half of their books are in Spanish, which I understand since there is a large Hispanic population but it makes me sad since I unfortunately don’t speak Spanish. I tried getting a card at the Richland branch but I have to pay a significant fee in order to check out books that I would be better off just going to the bookstore. Guess I’ll just have to be a little less nerdy and not read as much books.

The only way this Library could get any better is if there were no other customers, or if perhaps they had barriers of age or dress or class. Thereby taking the«public» out of library and making it too expensive for people like me. Hence, crying kids and teens making out will have to stay. This circulation of books and DVDs I consider extraordinary. I find myself looking at Columbo and West Wing and X-files and wondering why it’s so much better then the one in Seattle. I think it’s either that the the population is lower so that there are not as many holds(a thing that makes it impossible to ever find anything on the regular shelves) or that there are a large percentage of patrons that get a card, take out some DVDs, and then never return them, and never return. But in Pasco, the things come back. And I am able to barrow them! Also, everyone is very helpful, there is never a line, and the bathrooms are clean.
