I was getting me eyebrows done for the very first time. I wanted to make sure that for my first time, I’d get it right. I did research on different brow places and this place, although a little pricey, stuck out to me! After months of research, I set up my appointment with Mandy. And I was not disappointed! I was nervous but very excited. She greeted me at the door and offered be refreshments, which was something I did not expect. She is super nice and friendly. I felt comfortable immediately! Now, I will not go anywhere else to get my eyebrows done! She did an awesome job! She knew it’s was my first time so she walked me through the process. I am in love and am so proud of my eyebrows!!! I get compliments on them all the time! Mandy is the sweetest :)

Wow, where do I begin. First off I was a first timer to Zoey Van Jones Brow Studio and I left very happy with the experience.
I have had my eyebrows waxed once in the past, but other than that I know nothing about eye brow shaping or eyebrow make-​up. I came in a little nervous, because I knew after my first visit I would have to make some changes to my make-​up routine. However, Zoey was so great at explaining what needed to happen to my eyebrows (in terms of shape) and she went over the various products. While my eyebrows have a bit of time to go until they are where they should be I am so happy with the service and experience at the ZVJ Brow Studio.
My only negative experience came from myself, because after I left the studio I saw a line for tip on my receipt and then I was like, «wait am I suppose to tip for eyebrows?» And if you’re unexperienced like me according to the internet the answer is yes you tip your eye brow stylist. Boy, do I feel terrible and silly for that mistake. So Zoey or ZVJ staff if you read this let Zoey know I’m sorry!
I will be back in 4 weeks for another appointment and I can’t wait! :)

It was fine. A little too hip for me. Was expecting much more for $ 45. I’ll stick to getting my brows done at my nail place for $ 20. (I don’t think I am their target market)

Long overdue review: After years of crooked eyebrows, I finally decided to go to brow specialists. Having them done right is important and noticeable! I love Zoey!

First timer… Completely satisfied & impressed!
I’ve always either waxed my own eyebrows or have gotten them waxed at my nail shop but started to notice that my natural fullness and shape started to get lost, so looked online for a true professionals help. I came across ZVJ Brow Studios and read all the great reviews. It was about 6am, and I was able to book an appointment online for that same morning. Booking process is so easy and convenient.
They’re located right by Slater 50/​50, I got lucky and found street parking (meter) right near them. I was checked in as soon as I walked in and warmly greeted by Mandy, the Brow Artist. I’d read great reviews about her on Unilocal and she lived up to them in every way.
Mandy shaped and tinted my brows. She’s super sweet, explained every step of the process as we went through. She did a phenomenal job!!! Even before the tint I could see a big difference. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks!

I’ve been going to zoey every 2 months for about 3 years now and all I can say is ‘thank you zoey for making my eyebrows gorgeous!‘
Before this I was going to small nail and eyebrow boutiques, trying to find someone I can trust without having to worry that they are loseing their touch after a few visits with me. So I found zoey van jones on Unilocal,read the reviews and decided to try it out.
When I first started, my eyebrows were thin and as time went on zoey had a specific way of growing them out so it would fit my face structure. Now my eyebrows are full and look more appealing.
Not to mention her products are awesome. I use zoey’s new line of eyebrow pencil and brush on the go (which is so convenient because I am always rushing to work and its a quick fix) then I use a stencil and brush/​shadow to fill in my eyebrows often. Love, love, love it. It may be a bit pricey but you pay for what you get and the things I like to pay a little more attention to and a little extra would be my hair and eyebrows. To me its a big confidence boost and part of feeling good.
Bottom line… I will continue to go to zoey!

Before ZVJ, my brows lacked real arch and definition. Now, they are shaped perfectly to frame my face, and compliment my features. Additionally, the artists teach you how to shade in your brows to fill in gaps and add definition.
+Consistency and attention: I’ve been a faithful ZVJ client now for over three years, and I’m always satisfied with my brows.

My first experience at the salon was with someone else and I wasn’t completely sold on them. It was months before I decided to give the place another shot. That’s when Leslie made me a believer. She’s an amazing brow artist. She took her time to get the perfect shape for my face and showed me how to fill them in without saline (don’t ask).

Zoey Van Jones Brow Studio (ZVJ), located in Pasadena, was my go-​to brow studio when I was living in DTLA. Until I moved to San Diego, I went to ZVJ for two years. It can be really hard to find a brow salon that you like, but fortunately for me, my first experience at ZVJ was so memorable that I knew I had found a «home,» as far as brow services go, while I was in L.A.
This place wasn’t really close to where I lived, but because I was able to book appointments on Saturday mornings or on mid-​week late mornings (once traffic died down), I never had much trouble getting to Pasadena. Parking isn’t too bad to find, either – I always just parked in the structure right across the street, since that was convenient and my appointments at ZVJ never took long.
ZVJ offers a multitude of other services, but I only went for my brows. This studio was so great that even my mom would come with me, if she was ever visiting L.A., to get her brows done. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to Zoey herself – the founder of the place and a true artist – but my mom always books her brow appointments with Zoey (whenever she’s in town), and she raves about her. She says that you just have the greatest feeling of reassurance that you’re in good hands (literally) and that Zoey really knows what she’s doing when she’s grooming your brows.
When I was a regular customer at ZVJ, I would always book my brow appointments with Raquel. She’s always done a fantastic job with my brows, and my appointments never take long. She always does a really good job trimming them and grooming them, and the style (and outcome) is always consistent. Highly recommend her if you’re new to the place and trying to figure out who to book an appointment with!
I think it’s also worthy to note that the artists at ZVJ really take every customer’s personal situations into account. I have really sensitive skin so I was unsure about waxing my brows – had really bad outbreaks before after getting my brows done at other salons, just because my skin couldn’t handle the waxing – so Raquel would pluck my eyebrows, which, at times, was no easy feat! Yet, she always went the extra mile to make sure my brows were trimmed sufficiently, neatly groomed and sufficiently plucked. I never had any breakouts after my brow appointments at ZVJ (thanks to the plucking instead of waxing), and my brows always looked clean afterwards — not too thin and not overplucked; just right.
If you live in the Pasadena area, are visiting from out of town or just need a good, reliable brow salon, I would highly recommend ZVJ. They’re easy to find (you have to walk down an alley, but there’s a sign showing you where to go), and the brow studio will be immediately on the left. Having your brows done by Zoey costs more than having them done by the other artists, but it’s definitely worth it. Even though I’ve steadily booked appointments with Raquel – and highly recommend her – getting treatment at ZVJ is an experience in itself that you definitely don’t want to miss!

This place was recommended to me by a friend and because of all the reviews I was shocked by my terrible experience.
I made an appointment a week early, with Zoey herself, to get my eyebrows shaped and tinted for am event that night. Unfortunately the morning of my appointment they called and told me that Zoey had called out for the day and her next available appointment would be the following week. I needed to get my brows done for the event so I asked if anyone else was available, Raquel was.
Upon arrival Raquel welcomed me with a mediocre hello and less than desirable attitude. She didn’t seem to care at all that I expressed to her my desire to learn how to fill in my brows and was in need of product recommendations. She told me as she waxed my brows that she would give me a mini lesson at the end but never did. She didn’t trim my brows or tweeze at all, just used about 6 was strips then put the tint on. Throughout the visit she walked away several times and each time stayed gone for about 5 minutes, once to answer a call, I’m not sure what the others were for but she made it clear she was bothered by my presence. The tint was in for 3 minutes, I didn’t see the difference at all. She said next time it can stay on longer but not this visit.
At the very end of my visit she said, I’m not going to fill them in because I want you to see what they look like. I said ok, but was disappointed because she said she would give me a lesson. Since she didn’t explain anything I asked her for a recommendation of what to use to fill my brows in, whether I should use a pencil powder or cream type of stuff and she said «it’s up to you, you’ll figure it out».
As this whole process was going on the woman working with a client to the left of me was explaining products and teaching her client techniques… I feel like I missed out on a great experience that everyone else was getting.
To top it all off, my friend who recommended the place saw me that night and asked when I was gonna go get my brows done! Right after I went! All Raquel did was clean up the extra hairs, I could have paid my wax lady $ 10 and at least she would have trimmed and tweezed.
I feel like if my appointment had been with Zoey, like I scheduled it, I wouldn’t have had a crappy experience and would have probably come out of this with nice brows and some good products to use.
Hopefully someone talks to her about her attitude and work ethic. I won’t be going back to her ever!

IDK about this place.
I went to Ginny because there were a lot of positive reviews. She wasn’t bad… she was sweet, helpful, and my brows came out better than it started off. But I still wasn’t 100% satisfied… they were a bit uneven, and wasn’t how I wanted them to look. My eyebrows droop a bit and don’t have much of an arch… I asked her to give me that and she wasn’t really able to do it. I don’t blame her though; no one else in my life has been able to do that for me as of yet. But I AM still looking for the place that can fix this for me. Also they’re super busy so she didn’t have the time to be as thorough as I would have liked her to be. Next time I will be looking for a place that isn’t as big so they can spend more time on each customer.

Ginny does a phenomenal job with eyebrow shaping and tinting. She is professional, skilled and super sweet. When I was living in LA, she was the ONLY person that I would go to for eyebrows — definitely one of the best in the business. Worth the $$.
If you are looking to have amazing-​looking eyebrows, that compliment your face/​facial features, book an appointment with Ginny. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

For years, I’d been going to random salons to get my eyebrows waxed and threaded — and they’ve just gotten thinner and thinner!
So this fall, I decided to grow them out and let a brow professional tackle them. I live out of the area (in the D.C. area) but went home to my beloved Southern California for the holidays, so I searched for a brow salon near my parents’ house.
Thank God I found Zoey Van Jones! I made an appointment with Csilia, who was fantastic. She shaped my brows by waxing them (didn’t hurt) and gave me a brow tint (which was free, since it was my first). She also showed me how to fill in my brows.
ZVJ does have its own product line, but don’t worry about being aggressively sold to – I actually asked to buy the brow powder duo and brush/​spooli myself.
I had a really great experience and will probably make a trip here each time I’m back home for a touch-​up. This is a great place to go for women who have over-​tweezed and want to go back to a fuller brow!

I haven’t had my brows done in about a year and a half to grow them out. This was my first experience with brow tinting and I love my brows now! Ginny did the best job shaping and tinting my brows. This is the place to go!

I really dislike finding parking around the downtown Pasadena area but there are parking structures next to this brow studio. The décor is really nice and clean.
I had my eyebrows done by Raquel and she’s awesome. It was my first time getting my eyebrows done somewhere else besides an Indian threading studio. Raquel waxed, tweezed, and snipped my eyebrows into perfection. She even tinted my eyebrows to make them darker since I had such sparse and light eyebrows. The experience took 20 minutes and it cost me $ 45. The more experience your eyebrow professional has, the more expensive it will be. My eyebrows needed some major help, so it was worth it to me.
I’ll probably be back once in a while. I love how good this place is but I’m on a budget!

The first thing I usually notice about someone’s face are their brows — they can really make or break you.
After moving to LA I struggled to find someone I trusted to work on my brows. After several attempts with various «brow people» ended in failures, I ended up grooming my own brows for the last two years.
Thank goodness my friend finally recommended me to Zoey Van Jones, and just in time for my upcoming wedding! They have saved me and my brows from myself (and everyone else).
Tip: This is a place for fans of bold, beautiful brows.
Tip: Brow tinting really does help to bring out those baby brow hairs (especially for us thin haired eyebrow Asians). It may only last for about two weeks, but I definitely think it’s worth it to not have to fill your brows so much, especially for beach days or those special occasions.
