I like the happy hours. 2 beer for 1 is very nice for everyday. George, bar tender is great. He is so helpful and friendly.

My fav «go-​to» place in Pasadena to relax & unwind with drinks and music that doesn’t seem like a club scene, but more like a regular restaurant scene. Highly recommended for anyone that loves dining with some drinks in Pasadena.

Ended up here to pre-​game before the Beyoncé show and of course they were playing her jamz so knew we were in the right place. A friend and I both had ‘The Smartass’. I enjoyed my drink but my friend felt like hers was more ice than drink. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and setup of the place and definitely want to come back for more drinks and to try the food

Saw great reviews on Unilocal,figured it was a great place for my cousins birthday– and they did not disappoint! First off, the host was very friendly and sat me at our table while I was waiting for the rest of my party. Right away, Judy checked in with me and got a water right away. Once we were all here, drinks were ordered quickly and at our table just as fast. I snagged the George Smash– very yummy! Food didn’t seem to take long either, and many servers checked in and refilled our waters constantly. I recommend the pork belly and the shrimp appetizers. Judy was super friendly and made all of us, especially the birthday girl, feel great! Thank you Judy and the rest of the White Horse Lounge staff, we will be back!

I have been here twice now and neither time has it been busy… Which is strange because the drinks are true artistry and the bartenders are the nicest guys ever! The first time I stopped in with a friend and Jason Yu took care of us… He dripped with passion as he explained my drink to me, the Sucker Punch… Which is a milk punch that takes several esoteric ingredients and four days to make. I highly recommend it, although it goes down way too smoothly… You will want another and another.
The second time I visited was with my honey… Brian served us at the bar that evening and created some pretty delectable concoctions for us. We had the Georgia Smash (outrageously delicious), the Sucker Punch (once again cause it is amazeballs) and the Forbidden which Brian literally lights on fire! Gosh do I love a show!
These guys know what they are doing and are passionate and good and kind and just living dolls in my eyes. I wanna see this place packed… At least I think I do… Cause it deserves it. Insert super smiley face here.

My friends and I needed a restaurant that could accommodate 10 people last minute (aka less than an hour before the get-​together) and White Horse was the first place that said yes to our group so we ran over there. The people on the phone were friendly and didn’t balk at our request so I liked them before I even got to the restaurant. I’ve been to Old Town Pasadena so many times but had no clue this place existed. I was surprised that it was so empty on a Saturday night but yay for us.
Our server, John, was nice. He was attentive to the birthday girl, bringing out a special drink for her right as we got seated. They had a decent drink menu, I went with the $ 12 Silver Dollar (gin, yuzu, lime juice, cucumber and agave). I’d get it again but maybe ask for a little less agave next time.
As for food, we thought we’d get starters to begin and move on to the main course but loved the wings, brussels sprouts + bacon and spicy mac + cheese so much, we got a double order before moving to the main course. I loved the barbecue sauce on the wings and the mac and cheese had the perfect amount of kick. The salmon was excellent, the generous portion was served over a bed of rice and well seasoned greens. I was too full to try the chicken and waffles but that’ll be top of the list next time I visit.
While this place was good, it’s so hidden and has a little bit of a dark ambiance that people may just walk by without noticing. I couldn’t tell the vibe they were going for — is it a French restaurant or inching into the overcrowded gastropub scene? In any case, it was perfect for our Saturday night. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a good time.

White Horse Lounge gets 5 stars for service no doubt. And also because they have a late night menu! Mmmm garlic truffle fries anyone?
The bartenders are super sweet and fun, I recommend you finding a seat at the bar if you can. The drinks are pretty good and well-​priced as well. I had the Sucker Punch which for some reason tasted like it barely had any alcohol. Might have been a mistake, but my boyfriend’s Manhattan was very good. The service was so great, that I didn’t want to mention my drink. Will definitely be back though the next time I’m in Old Town!

Just left… horrible service… horrible.
Waited 5 minutes to have someone seat us. The bartender looked confused while we waited by the front. Once seated a Hispanic guy brought us menus… that we had to ask for.
Waited 15 minutes… he never came back. Meanwhile the Hispanic guy and a white guy (server) with a goatee were bringing a round of shots to a table of women and taking he shots with them. Very unprofessional. The white guy told another guy to «tell station 2 I’ll be right there». That guy was confused and didn’t come tell us. They took selfies with the drunk chicks and were drinking on the clock. Classy place.
We left. Won’t be back. Headed to another establishment that values their customers.

My friends and I came out here tonight to celebrate my best friends accomplishments. What a beautiful place and such great customer service. The drinks were amazing, I ordered the smartass, recommended by our waiter Brian, who was AMAZING and ATTENTIVE. We had a really fun night with such great service, food, and drinks. We will definitely be back. If you are in the area, drop by and ask for Brian, he knows what he’s talking about!!!

I am in love with this place now! I came here for happy hour from 4−6pm. My friend and I got a few drinks and tried some of the small bites for happy hour.
I got the old fashioned, which comes in three different types. I opted for the tequila version and felt it was too strong. Our bartender Jason realized this and offered to add some simple syrup and a zest of lemon to balance the taste, it was perfect after that. I love that he was willing to adjust the drink to make it more tastier. His concoctions on «Bartender’s choice» was a hit for both of us.
The happy hour food we ordered was pretty good. The ‘Merican burger was a hit. The fries were delicious and huge portioned!
My friend accidentally spilled both our drinks and Jason realized this and made us a small drink to compensate for it, which I thought was great and very attentive of him.
Great service, great food, and great drinks! I can’t wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our dinner at The White Horse Lounge and the service from our waitress Chelsea was really excellent. For appetizers we enjoyed the succulent crispy fried shrimp on skewers and the BBQ chicken wings. The beef short ribs were very tender and tasty as was the potato crusted salmon. The beignets were an excellent desert to finish off the experience.
My wife really loved her well made cocktails by George and I was impressed with their good selection of single malt scotch whiskey. They had a lot of my favorite scotches: Balvenie Double wood 12 and 17, Lagavulin 16, Oban 14, and Laphroaig 10.
We will most definitely return for dinner again sometime soon the next time we spend the day in the Pasadena area.

Old Fashioned is ok, but since I don’t know much about cocktail, I can’t comment much. We just need the drinks for food here. H.H. meal is almost half off of the original price!
BUFFALO BRASS: Tempura Cauliflower, cut into size of a chicken wing, tossed in buffalo sauce, comes with bleu cheese sauce. Great vegi interpretation of buffalo wings.
THE TRIO: Fluffy pita bread to go with hummus, baba ghanoush and tapenade. Hummus and baba ghanoush is pretty good, tapenade is little too salty.
‘MERICAN BURGER: Classic burger with lettuce and tomato. Juicy beef patty. Can’t complain cuz it is only $ 6!
Truffle Fries: Smell so good. Can’t stop dipping their Siracha ketchup!
REFINED IRISHMAN: corn beef sandwich. The corn beef is just way too salty. I only ate half of it.

We came here on a Friday evening at about 7:30PM for dinner for a party of two. We were seated promptly in the dining room. The dining room is very cute, «lounge-​like», and just an overall good vibe.
The overall experience was fantastic. The drinks, the service and the food. For dinner we shared two entrees. We had the Refined Irishman and the Black Sea. Both were incredibly excellent!
The review is short, because it was all excellent.
I will most definitely return again.

End up here randomly because of an Easter Bar Crawl. This place is extremely cool inside! Like a dark Alice in Wonderland. You know the one that we thought was going to happen when Tim Burton directed it but it turned out to be fucking crap with an Avirl Lavigne song in the credits. But not even Complicated.
If you go here you won’t be dissappointed like you were with that movie.

I must have come here back at least 7 years ago when it was called Cheval Blanc which translates to White Horse, and so it seems that the interior hasn’t changed much either, although the cuisine has now skipped over from a French bistro style to a 21^st century eclectic gastro-​pub mode.
The front reminds me of a cluttered hotel lobby w/​plenty of wing & high back chairs, over-​stuffed sofas & an old fashioned fin de dix-​neuvieme siècle long polished wood bar. The interior dining room extends this feeling by having tons of dark wood paneling. Its good to see that the exterior of the building still retains its good looks being Spanish influenced w/​dashes of Art Deco.
The staff here is manned by Millennial twenty somethings who tend to be casual, insouciant, somewhat lackadaisical. That describes my waiter who seemed more interested in his own business than tending more closely to the tables. However, the young East Asian waitress, who was not really my server, was far more engaged in providing good service. Kudos to her.
Ordered The SmartAss: «DEDICATED TO THOSE WITH A SHARP TONGUE AND A LOVE FOR WHISKEY», Jameson Irish Whiskey, Fresh Lemon, Organic Honey, Guinness Reduction, Spanked Mint. Nice mélange of Irish inspired flavours such as the Jameson & the Guinness. The lemon added a tart gastrique while the honey added softened sweet tones to contrast to the more woody, smoky, fermented taste of the whiskey. Mint added that fresh, herbal oil to up the refreshing scents & taste.
FINE IRISHMAN: Brisket & short rib blend burger, Port Salut cheese, crispy potato chips, peppercorn Jameson cream sauce, jalapeño onion relish, served on a soft brioche bun. This was a hefty burger w/​a white bread bun topped w/​black & white sesame, & poppy seeds. Although the meat is soft, meaty, moist, medium that might be spiked w/​a bit of finely diced onions, there is only a bit of beefy Umami which would be more pronounced had it been grass fed beef. (You are what you eat.)
Nice thick slice of yellowish white Port Salut which was mild & creamy in flavor. To me, the peppercorn Jameson cream sauce was missing in action since it seemed overwhelmed by the Jalapeño Onion relish which had a good sulfur based funk of onion along w/​a sweet acidity that woke up some of the beef flavours. Good hamburger, but should be when it cost close to $ 15.
Bacon Wrapped Shrimp & Jalapeño were on skewers: The bacon infused a salty, porky, fatty, soupçon of smokiness to the broiled whole shrimp. The pieces of jalapeño contributed a smoky, green pepper scent, & bit of piquancy to up the shrimp & bacon flavours. Drizzled aceto balsamic demi glacé sauce was a good addition adding a mild acidic, fermented, sticky sweetness that married all the flavours.
The food at the White Horse seems to border on the comfort food zone even though the eclectic menu shows that it is aware of the ever continuous flow of outside world influences. 3+ Unilocal stars.

A friend took me here because he knew I’m a drinker: P jkkk But I do admit I’m a big fan of lounges. Hmm Turned out to be one of my favorite lounge mostly cause of the Classically decorated bar with its chill and relaxing ambiance. Kind of giving that old school vibe cause of its décor with those dim lights.
Came here on a Monday night it was pretty empty so we got seated right away. Our waitress Jacklyn was super friendly and there was another waiter who explained to us patiently about the menu and their most popular dishes.
My friend got their burger. Ehhhh it was okay okay. Their fries were pretty good! I tried papardelle which comes with oyster mushrooms. The only complain is that the sauce itself was pretty flavorless. Oyster mushrooms were good though, definitely added a nice kick to the pasta.
Dinner was incomplete without drinks! My friend got their well known award winning cocktail — The Forbidden. I tried their signature cocktail — White Horse. Mine was sort of like old fashioned. I like how they added in one huge ice cube so it’d keep the drink at a perfect temperature without watering it down. They were both very delicious and had the perfect amount of alcohol.
I would give a 4 star for their ambiance and drinks but took one off because of their food. Great location for bar hopping though.

Came here during St. Patrick’s day and it was busy! Luckily, there was open seating at the bar.
I had their Forbidden, a strong fruity drink made with flames that also included absinthe.
My friend had their White Horse house special, which had whiskey, a piece of bacon, and a single giant ice cube.
Bartenders were nice, had a good sense of humor, and gave us water along with water refills to make sure we stayed hydrated. Would love to comeback again!

Stopped in for the Pasadena happy hour tour to find out their happy hour is not extended hours as the sign in their window indicated. A bit miffed but we stuck it out and ordered drinks… beer and mule for me and my bride. Average drinks with above average sticker prices. We sampled the truffle garlic fries. heavy on garlic but light on the truffle which disappointed. Bartender was friendly but the vibe was a bit snooty.
Ambiance is upscale saloon and prices are inflated.

I’ve been on DeLacey Ave a few times and I totally missed this cute Lounge. I was introduced to this place by my friend. While waiting for my friend to arrive, I’ve noticed that the décor and ambience was elegant and modern. We checked in for a table but grabbed a drink first. I got their well known award winning cocktail — The Forbidden, lots of whisky and bitters in it. I had two because I like it that much. We finally got a table and we ordered
Buffalo Brass — It’s like BWW Chicken Wings but substitute it for Cauliflower
That was my friend’s favorite because I only had one bite while he devoured it.
The Lafayette Shrimp Tacos — It was pretty good, very zesty and a nice kick to it.
Yearling Rose — A Lamb chop — It was good but there were more fat than usual.
Overall, it was nice place to catch up with a friend or a nice date night or girls night out. Chill atmosphere and good service.
Parking structure is close by.

Found White Horse through Unilocal,and was also lucky enough to snag a Groupon for this spot.
