Toplight Nails

I feel customer service is really important and I just didn’t get that yesterday and I can’t really endorse this salon the way I used to.
In this particular visit, I was greeted at the door and told to sit in a spa chair. At the time, there were two customers being helped and a total of three workers. So I sat in the chair. I was in the chair for almost 30 minutes with my feet in the water while no one said anything to me. I had to ask how much longer before I was helped or got any any type of response or acknowledgement. I was told 3 more minutes. Following my questioning, a woman worker helping the other customer then began to wrap up her current customer to help me. Then the staff began talking in Vietnamese.
After 30 minutes my toes were wrinkly and I was ready to leave. I feel a simple «We’ll be right with you» would have worked fine. Or better yet, a heads up for time approximation so I’m not just sitting there would’ve been even better. Overall, if they would step they’re customer service game up this could be a greater salon. The quality and services provided are still good don’t get me wrong its the customer service that needs to change.

Came here today with my mother and grandmother and man what a horrible experience, Ann was very rude to my mother telling her that she is going to do her nails how she feels they should look not to how my mother wanted them. Once she was working on her nails my mother told her she was being rude and very aggressive towards her and Ann started laughing and told her that she didn’t need our money and to leave we were going to leave and she didn’t let my mom get up she insisted on finishing she made sure she make my moms nails look horrible all the nails are uneven and lumpy. I have came here for years and always had a bad experience but what happened this time is unforgivable NEVER coming her again.

Oh goodness. Im giving 1 star just because i cant give less. Last saturday i stopped by to get a full set with ann. Sadly, it was really busy so i couldnt wait too long. Ann asked me to return in 1 hour if i wanted to. I said ok i might. I didnt end up going back that day because i had lots of things to do. I returned the next day and luckily there was no one waiting but my sister and i. Ann asked what we wanted done and we told her a mani and a full set. She simply said ok. After 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting, my sister and i got so frustruated and decided to walk out and leave. Ann immediately asked us to wait. That she was almost done. So we waited. After all we had waited long enough already. 10 minutes later ann began to work on my fullset. As she approached me, she rudely said, «you never came back yesturday. i wait for you you dont come. Thats why i make u wait today» and then she giggled. I was so upset of how rude she was. I didnt say anything just asked her to proceed. As she was doing my nails, she kept walking away to help other staff and to just walk around. I was very upset at the fact that she kept getting distracted and leaving me there just waiting. Not only that but as she was filing my nails she kept looking away. She cut me 1 time and when i said «ouch» she just laughed and kept filing. My nails came out horrible. The acrylic was not even. It was very lumpy. I asked for french tip colored in, it looked horrible. My sister’s mani looked ok but my full set looked hideous! I left without saying anything because at this point i wanted to just walk away before cussing her out. Not only did my nails look bad but the next day (monday) the nails were already lifting from the sides. I was very dissapointed. Ann use to do good job back like 5 years ago. I will NEVER be returning to this nail shop. 21 $ went down the drain. Definetely Not Recommendable. Im Trying Jasmine Nails instead.

This place isn’t the same like it use to be. I got cut in one finger and toe. Plus the lady was aggressive and just wanting to finish. I think it’s time to go else where.

Went here a few times… thought it was pretty neat that my nail tech was the same as Fergies nail tech. I sure did let that fool me lol. This place is a bit overpriced for the type of work they do. The last time I went there and got a full set with a pedi. within 4 days my nails started lifting! I’m very careful with my nails especially after getting them done lol so hey maybe she forgot to put some solution to keep them down. Took the benefit of the doubt and went back on the 5^th day lol had her redo them and again the same problem within 3 days this time :(very disappointing! Oh well…

After coming here for years… I will NEVER ever come here again. I keep giving them a chance but now I’m done. DONE

Not a good place!
1. They do not know how to apply Gelish Nail Polish yet they advertise it, not to mention their colors don’t match. (hand polish with toe polish)
2. Their massage chairs are broken.
3. They talk about people in their language. (I know, I understand)
4. They are not customer pleasing, money hungry!

I have been coming here for years and I’m always happy with the service. My mom comes here too and we both love not only how our nails are done but also the fact that their massage is really good. I hate getting my nails done and getting a half ass massage.
When you walk in, it’s not the fanciest place but give them a chance. All the ladies are pretty friendly. In fact, the last time I was there the owner came up to me to ask me where I had been. It made me feel good that she actually remembered me and that I wasn’t just another mani/​pedi for them.
They always take their time and have a good variety of colors. They always make sure to clean their spa chairs. I know this sounds like an obvious thing but I have, unfortunately been to places where hygiene has to be reminded.
The pricing is good and there is plenty of parking in the back.

I phoned this place to schedule an appointment and was told the cost for my mani would be $ 40 and for a pedi $ 50. I only called because I thought the cost would be $ 30. I passed and would not recommend this place since it seems as if their prices fluctuate based on who the caller is/​day of the week.

I’ve been meaning to get my nails Minx-​ed. After reading Irma’s review, I decided to give this place a shot, since its a lot closer for me than to go all the way to the places in Beverly Hills or Hollywood.
I called in a week in advance to make the appointment, specifying that I wanted the Minx nails. I was really excited the whole week to get my nails done.
My appointment was on Friday at 11 and I get there at 10:50.There was one other customer there. I tell the lady, who was working on someone, that I was there for my 11:00 Minx appointment. She tells me that the lady who does the Minx nails just LEFT. I was like «But I made an appointment for 11:00». She responds by telling me, «Yes, but she left. Can you come back at 1:00?» By this time I was really irritated and did not understand why the lady left when she knew I was coming.
I decided to not take the risk of going back at 1 and her not being there. I had to make sure I had enough time to do my hair and makeup as well, since I had to leave the house by 5 to setup for the party. I ended up going back to my usual place (Bonsoir in South Pasadena) to get some nail art done, which had much better service and was a lot cheaper.
There’s a reason why they only charge half the amount compared to a Beverly Hills salon, because you only get half the amount of service.
Kate P. was right about this place being a hole in the wall. When I walked in, I would have never guessed that this place would have the latest Minx trend. The place looked old and dirty. I would have stayed gotten my nails Minxed there had the lady not left. Now that I’ve seen the place, I don’t think I’ll go back, even if its half the price. Don’t want to risk getting any bacteria/​fungal infection from this place.

Well, based on the previous reviewer, I went today to get my nails «Minx-​ed.» I had just had my nails done at my normal salon a few days ago but as they were already chipping and I was going to take the polish off I decided to go ahead and try Minx.
I called them at 9:30 for an appointment, but when I got there it was apparent that it wasn’t necessary on weekday, the place was absolutely empty. It’s a small little hole in the wall, nothing fancy but for the price it is absolutely with the drive. Like Irma said, it’s only $ 30! I can’t wait to go back and try it again. But hopefully I don’t have to, I mean that is the point of Mix after all…
