History

Established in 1936.

«TSO Southmore» is the nickname of Texas State Optical in Pasadena. Texas State Optical was established in 1936 when the Rogers family opened the first TSO office in Beaumont, Texas. Our founders planned for TSO’s continuous growth and expansion of services, but not without first building a foundation of patient care and quality products that stand the test of time. It became their vision to offer patients convenient locations, qualified Doctors of Optometry and a complete line of competitively priced eyewear that is fashionable and functional. These core values have remained unchanged throughout the years.

Business Owner

Dr. John Mann is the lead optometrist at Texas State Optical.

He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 1984.

He is board certified in all aspects of optometry with special emphasis on laser vision management, treatment of eye diseases, and glaucoma management.

Dr. Mann conducts eye exams in both English and Spanish.

He is married with two children and enjoys sailing, flying, and supporting his children in their athletic pursuits.
