I had shoulder surgery with Dr. Tang. I thought he was great. He spent time with me and answered all my questions. Unfortunately, his assistant Monica has not been great to work with. She is very rude, never returns phone calls. I finally had to complain to the office manager. Of course, this did not help. I would recommend Dr. Tang if not for his assistant. You really need the office staff to work with you and help you go through all the steps to surgery in a helpful way. You will not get this with Monica. If you can deal with another medical assistant, than Dr. Tang is for you.

I have no idea how Dr. Tang can be rated so lowly. Are you kidding me!!! I have been to three different surgeons for my ankle. I have two pins, a fake tendon, and this last surgery, Dr. Tang fix my torn ligament. I completely disagree with Dr. Tang having a bad bedside manner. He was the most patient surgeon I went to. Since I have had so many bad experiences — hence the more than one surgeon and more than one surgery, so I don’t know what these other people expected, but I found everything running smoothly. This center is crowded, since there are so many doctors and also physical therapy. I know a lot of people don’t have a choice because of their insurance. I notice a lot of older people there. However, I CHOSE to be there. I haven’t ever been disappointed by the customer service at the center, and I ask the most questions ever. Dr. Tang never once got annoyed and reassured me many times that everything would be fine, and even let me decide if I wanted the cast(since my horrible experience before started with that). He basically told me what was best, and let me make the decisions because he recognized that I was a smart individual who know what I talking about. It was respect all around. I started off at Cedar Sinai. I had 100% covered medical because I had TriCare(the military insurance). The surgeon at Cedars could only see me for my knee — and wanted to scope it immediately after the MRI, so I had to schedule surgery. For my ankle, I was referred to another Cedars surgeon. Dr. Tang is a specialist in sports medicine and took care of both my ankle and knee(my knee did not need surgery), but my ankle did. I’m now recovered and doing great. Thank you, Dr. Tang!

Went to dr. Tang’s office for the 4th time. Each time, I waited for a minimum of 1.5 hours just to see Dr. Tang. This time, I waited for over 1 hour and I didn’t even get seated in a room after the x-ray. I decided I couldn’t tolerate this type of service and left. This is by far one of the worst managed offices I’ve ever experienced. I’m curious if they’ll even bother calling me back since I left abruptly with my injured son. I doubt they will even realize it. It’s time for doctor’s to be held more accountable for their service rather than billing insurance companies and overbooking their appointment books for their mercedes and BMW’s.

Dr. Tang is a wonderful doctor, on the other hand his office staff is horrible. I went out on disability, and on the 23rd day, I called his assistant to see if they submitted my disability paperwork. Of course they did not. Apparently people don’t realize that I also have bills to pay and rely on my monthly income to get by. It will be almost 6 weeks before I get my first check, all because this office staff did not do their job. Thanks again for all the late fees I will accumulate because I won’t be able to pay my bills on time. Oh and my rent will be late as well !!! I’m sure I’m not his first patient to go out on disability.

My physical therapist rated Dr. Tang as a good surgeon in that he goes in and takes care of what needs to be done and doesn’t dilly-dally. So I went ahead and signed up to have my surgery done by him. After having the surgery and going to all the follow-up appointments I believe Dr. Tang would much rather deal with a sedated patient than one that asks questions or wants anything thoroughly explained. He zooms through appointments and gives you uninspired impersonal care. His office location sucks as the parking is expensive at $ 1 for every 15 mins with a maximum of $ 6. That doesn’t seem expensive until you realize Dr. Tang seems to always run 1 hour late, so you are guaranteed to pay $ 6 for every appointment. His surgeons assistant Monica is no sweetheart either. She treats patients with indifference and acts annoyed by having to deal with you. I am not high maintenance, but I don’t have surgery everyday, so I may have some questions or concerns. Good luck getting her on the phone, and if you leave a message you’ll never hear back. I’m sure that he is a fine surgeon, but when it comes to healthcare your doctor should be somewhat invested in you as you are putting your life in their hands.

What a waste of a doctor. Saw him twice. He could barely remember my name and gave me a pointless diagnosis that was typed off a piece of paper. When I asked what was wrong with me knee he said that I would know better than him… What?!? You’re a doctor man! Maybe he paid for his degree… Stay away.
