I’ve been getting my hair cut here since high school. The shopkeeper, Maria, is always friendly and pleasant. Over the years, we have communicated with a heady mix of English and Spanish, and I’ve always given her $ 20 bucks when I come in– 10 for the haircut, and 10 for the tip/Spanish booster lesson :) I’ve started bringing my son here, and he likes talking it up with Maria’s granddaughter. This is absolutely a family shop, and they do a nice job. There’s no flashy or pretense here— it’s the way a guy from the old neighborhood likes to get his haircut, support old friends and local business, and get a smile. Maria is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met… Always asked about my family, my job, my brothers… Exceptional.

It should not cost a lot to cut your hair. Atleast, that’s Maria’s(Owner) way of thinking. She does a good job on me. But I have heard she has butchered other people’s hair. I have come to know her for years now and she cuts my whole families hair including a number of my friends. Though, she has cut my hair wrong at times, I still come back because she’s one of those people where you tell her what she did wrong and she’ll correct it. It’s partly my fault too, I tend to change my hair style a lot. For $ 10, I always try to keep a clean look.
