Shant’s Clock and Watch Repair

There is a reason that Shant’s has so many five star reviews.
My story: I’m new to the world of fine watches and recently purchased a Swiss timepiece online. I needed it resized and figured I would take it to one of the places that the brand recommends on their website. Good thing I checked out Unilocal first because I only read horror stories about the quality of service at the shops they recommended. Wanting my new baby to be in good hands, I found Shant’s Unilocal and read through the reviews. I was immediately impressed with the high amount of praise users had for him, including his professionalism, passion, and enthusiasm for watches. I hopped in my car and went immediately to his store in a very beautiful section of Old Town Pasadena (tip: if you need a good parking place there is a covered public lot with 90 minutes free just north of Holly on Raymond; a quick 60 second walk from his store). I’d recommend wearing a pair of sunglasses when you walk in because of the gleaming display of watches and the brilliant smile you’ll get from Shant. I explaind my situation to Shant and he took a look at my watch. He told me I selected a beautiful piece to start my collection. Being new to watches, I asked if he would educate me a little on them in general and we chatted as he diligently took out a couple links. The final product fit like a charm! I can tell you that there will from now on only be one place I take my watches.

Wanted to wait a few weeks after getting my Rolex repaired by Shant before I write this review. My watch was in need of desperate repair and Shant miraculously brought it back to life. It hasn’t lost a minute since ! Shant is incredibly knowledgeable with Rolexes and I am sure he can handle all other high end time pieces. Will be back if any other watches need servicing. Cool guy too.

Came by today to have a new watch of mine size. Really excited and this guy remember me! He’s really cool and nice to his customers, and remembers his loyal customers! He’s always quick and takes my time and money seriously. It took him less than 5 minutes to size my watch perfectly and he made sure I was 100% satisfied! He’s definitely talented to be able to fix/​size watches that quick! Aside from how great the service is here, the prices are the best in town! I definitely recommend and I’ll be back soon!

Stopped in for a battery replacement and it was done within 2 minutes and for a fraction of the cost that nearby jewelers wanted to charge!

Okay. I expected a grizzled old man with spectacles and a hoop?
What I got was an exuberant and charismatic young man with a ton of experience and obvious passion for fine time pieces.
I purchased an Omega Speedmaster Professional moon watch several years ago on eBay (I know). It was difficult to wind from day one. Two years later the crown literally came off in my hand.
I refuse to walk into a fancy watchmaker in Palm Beach or B.H., you have sucker tattooed on your forehead.
Shant asked me if I intended to keep the watch? I informed him that I’d be buried with it. He told me that I really needed a full service and that he would provide any needed parts at cost.
He completely disassembled my watch, put the pieces in the ultra sound cleaner, reassembled and lubricated it for a very reasonable sum of money.
I scoured the reviews all over Los Angeles and drove to Pasadena specifically because of the Unilocal support this man gets.

Beautiful little store, but I just came in to change a watch battery. Thought my battery was dead, but I handed over the watch to him and it magically started again! He checked out the battery and the watch in general to make sure it was fine, and then gave it back to me without charging anything. Good guy.

Bought a watch for my SO for Valentine’s Day. Needed to get it resized while I was stopping by in the Pasadena area. Visited Shant’s shop and he helped me out with a band resizing and a battery change. Super helpful and knowledgable. Definitely coming here for all my watch needs.

Shant is the best! The quality of his workmanship is superb. He is a very talented watchman and offers the best quality for the best prices. I drive up all the way from San Diego to get my Rolex and my husbands Rolex serviced. My husband loves and collects watches and Shant seems to always have timeless pieces and calls us anytime he comes across something he knows we would like. Lovely little shop with great customer service. I was in need of a watch band for a watch that I recently purchased to help be more on time. Sizing a band for a watch is kinda difficult to order online so I decided I needed an experienced person to help me. The shop owner was super patience even though I’m the most indecisive person and even took off the initial band to switch to another one when I wasn’t feeling the first band I picked. A guy came in and couldn’t figure out how to set his watch and the shop keeper quickly adjusted it free of charge! My leather band was $ 25 so I feel that the pricing was very reasonable.

Nice and friendly guy. Installed a new watch battery and did a minor repair of a clock on the spot for an inexpensive price. Would definitely recommend!

I’m very impressed with this place. Late on Christmas eve, they were willing to take links out of my new watch while closing down for the night. I’m fairly accustomed to people’s impatience these days, but this gentleman was both personable and patient — thank you!

Shant got the job done! My 15 year old classic Omega automatic chronograph stopped self-​winding and he knew exactly what to do. He replaced the mainspring, serviced the mechanism (all 100+ parts), and resealed it again so it remains water resistant. Other watch repair shops in the area wanted as much as twice what he charged me (one wanted even more), and they wanted 3 – 5 weeks. Shant promised the job in a week and completed it in 5 days. It is back to perfect running order. Shant is no-​nonsense about the jargon of watch repair, he just tells you what happened, what you need, and he doesn’t confuse you or try to upsell you. Great guy, great demeanor, skilled and dependable, he learned the craft from his father and grandfather. He appreciates your business. He cares about your watch and he truly wants all his customers to feel satisfied. I highly recommend Shant, and hey, I have done the local research for the Pasadena area, this is where you want to bring your quality watch and get treated fairly as well as kindly.

The owner comes from a direct line of watch repairers, having trained with his father, who has his shop in West Hollywood, on Sunset. Notably, not only does he fix and restore any variety of watch from 100 year old antique Patek Philippes to brand new Rolex Oysters, he also specializes in clock repairs as well, antique and other, a much rarer skill. As such, his longstanding customers bring in their old and new Grandfather clocks, desk clocks etc for much needed service and TLC.

Shant is amazing and curtious to all his customers and inexpensive. When I arrive there I was second customer at that time he was fixing my watch and he was able to assist other customers instantly and everybody was happy. I watched his excellent customer service and i wanted to pqpost this. I will be coming back shan’t.

Was a customer at the old location and I’m a customer in the new location too. The guy who runs this place is very friendly and has helped with my Fossil as well as my Pebble watch. I broke the glass on the Fossil and I just had to change the strap on my Pebble. Highly recommend.

From several interactions that I had with him, he stood out as genuin & a trustworthy watchmaker. He changed his location to more central part of Pasadena. This guy is the Man. Quick service, attention to detail, and really knows his stuff. If you’re looking for a watch repair, he is the guy to go to. If I could give him 6 stars I would.

This place is your one stop shop for all things watches! Whether you have high complication automatic watches or low maintenance Quartz watches, Shant will keep them running for you!
Batteries: Shant has an extensive selection of watch batteries and performs the fastest battery changes I’ve ever seen. He might even have it ready before you can get your money out!
Regulation: Shant was able to get my Seiko SARG005 to +/-0.5 seconds a day! It did not take him long at all to get it there.
Repairs and restoration: I brought in my mother’s old Bucherer watch that had a shattered crystal, destroyed strap, mangled face, and water exposed innards. It was in horrible shape after venturing through the washing machine and dryer. Shant told me his signature,“No problem!”, and miraculously fixed it up like brand new! I didn’t even have to leave it a day. Amazing.
Vintage watches: The display has some of his well curated collection of vintage watches including: International Watch Company (pre-​IWC), Omega, Rolex, Hamilton (American made), Gruen, Girard-​Perregaux, Jaeger Lecoultre, Breitling, Longines, Fortis, Audemars Piguet, and more! They are all in excellent shape (you will notice most or all are running) as he inspects and maintains each and every one of them before they are sold.
Also, he is an awesomely nice guy.

Just got my watch repaired at Shant’s. Found him through his great reviews on Unilocal from his previous location. He moved from Colorado Blvd To Holly and Fair Oaks, much more quaint location.
He changed battery serviced and shined my watch. His price was more reasonable than others. He was very friendly, quick and answered all my question. This guy knows his stuff!
