Description

Specialties

Run on Sun is a mission-driven Pasadena-based installer of solar power solutions for commercial and residential clients. We pride ourselves on honest, straight-forward assessments and proposals, and solar systems of the highest quality. Our systems maximize system yield using top-of-the-line products including Enphase micro-inverters and LG solar panels.

History

Established in 2006.

Since its inception, Run on Sun has been determined to not be «just another solar company.» We started with a core team with the education, experience, and expertise to handle the complexities of the solar world while still making the process simple and seamless for our clients. We followed up on that start by having all three of our Principals become Certified Solar PV Installers by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) — the «Gold Standard» in the solar industry. No other solar company in Southern California can make that claim.

In addition to doing solar installations, Run on Sun has also provided consulting services to individual and corporate/municipal clients including Pasadena Water & Power.

Jim is a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer™ who holds degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Law. His technical background at Bell Labs and his legal experience as a trial lawyer at O’Melveny & Myers gives him the ability to distill complicated issues down to their essence; thereby allowing decision makers to fully comprehend all aspects of the matter before them whether that be assessing the performance of an existing PV system or evaluating competing proposals for adopting a new technology.

A confirmed «data geek», Jim has developed numerous computer applications related to PV systems, including remote monitoring, performance estimation, and economic analysis.
