I’ve had severe acne for several years (I’m currently 19 and in college with my acne starting in 7^th grade of middle school). I have visited a few dermatologists before Dr. Seltezer, and all have prescribed topical medications. These only controlled the severity of my acne by a marginal degree, but the problem still persisted.
Following my college finals, my acne reached an all time bad (my face was covered in large red zits, and it was getting quite painful). That was when I reached out to Dr. Seltzer. He had previously treated me for eczema as a child (or that is what my parents had told me) with amazing results. For my acne, he prescribed me with a variety of oral antibiotics and topical medications which greatly reduced my acne. He then moved onto Acutane and had me take that for the last six months.
During this time period I have seen my acne fade away. My skin is now clear with some minor scaring, which is only to be expected (It will probably take some time before my skin can heal completely or before I can have my scars treated).
The results of my treatment has been extremely satisfactory, and my discomfort has been minimal (very dry skin at times).
Visits were short, professional, and often included facial peels, extractions, and shots. For this treatment, the cost was reasonable at $ 100 per visit (he did not take my insurance, Blue Shield).
I would highly recommend Dr. Seltzer for acne, or any skin care for that matter.

So I received a call on 12÷22÷15 regarding the situation with my visit here and bill. Phyllis, I believe, who is the office manager, had given me a call & explained to me everything that was going on. I definitely appreciated her taking the time to go over everything with me, and they were also able to write off my bill. She literally went over every single thing I wrote about & in detail.

Highly recommend Dr. Seltzer for dermatology. Great bedside manner and wait time is minimal. He diagnosed my skin condition in a matter of minutes and the severe eczema is under control with the treatment régime he prescribed and on its way to looking normal and healthy skin again :)

I don’t have a problem with the doctor but I have an extreme problem with how they hide their charges until I get a bill from my insurance. I went to see Dr. Seltzer for acne. I asked beforehand if my insurance was covered and the expenses. They advised that it is covered and I assumed I would be charged my copay and that’s it. Instead after 4 visits and 2 months I get a bill for hundreds of dollars. I like to point out that none of my visits took more than 10 minutes and it consisted of 1 or 2 injections into the zits and a glycolic peel. They didn’t mention that these things are considered treatments and they’re hundreds of dollars that are not covered by insurance. They did not mention that these things are outside of a regular doctor’s visit. Basically they don’t mention anything. I’ve been to orthopedic surgeons, psychiatrists, etc. They always mention beforehand if anything will be an additional cost or considered a procedure. I’m very careful about this stuff and I ask questions beforehand. Unfortunately this cagey practictioner hides everything under «we don’t know what your insurance will cover.» which isn’t true at all. They can find out pretty easily by calling them. They can tell me it’s potentially an extra cost (which they didn’t). Instead they just let the visits add up and forward a bill months later.
In terms of results? It didn’t really help. Any large zits took just as long to go away without an injection. The glycolic peel felt like a wet wipe over my face and nothing was really peeled. Don’t waste your time/​money here. They are gougers and really should be investigated for unethical business practices. I would pray for them, if I weren’t an atheist, but they really deserve to go to hell (if such a place exists).

Seeing a dermatologist is rather personal and about as much fun as washing your eyes out with lemon juice. With that said, he has a great bed side manner, gets the job done and solves problems. What more can you expect from a doctor

This doctor runs a tight ship. He is always been right on schedule. Very efficient. Staff too.

I had psoriasis for few years and had treatment from another dermatologist but it never totally get rid of it.
Lately it became a bit too much on my legs and I can’t wear short anymore as people will stared at my leg.
After finding doctor Robert from Unilocal by reading all the positive reviews, I make an appointment.
Arrived on time and 5 – 10 mins I got to see doctor Robert. He look at it and say he gonna give me some shot. I say. whatttt…wait wait… he suggest the injection on the lesions will heal up the psoriasis faster. After a few ant bite needles poke, I am out of there. Doctor seem busy and no time to chat.
2 weeks with ointment and tropical cream, it heal a lot.
I went back for second appointment and doctor again gave me a few more shot and I told him he missed a spot. Lol.
Whatever he is doing, he is doing it right and I am so happy my psoriasis get a lot better now.
Totally satisfied and definitely will refer friends to him.

Great experience with Dr. Seltzer! He is very professional and nice. I expected that my wait time and appointment would take an hour but it was very quick. His office seems to run like a well oiled machine, very efficient. My only tiny note would be that I’m a little turned off when I call the office and the phone is answered with a simple «hello?». It feels like I’m calling someone’s home rather than a medical office.

I had adult acne, it was getting worse and worse no matter what I tried. On top of that I broke out with a rash on my chest. I had it with skin conditions and decided to come see a professional. I paid cash and got free samples and a list of new face washes and moisturizers to use; also a hormone blocker. Everything was starting to look up. Then I had a bad reaction to one of the meds. I called the office and they got me in right away. Dr. Seltzer did not charge me for the visit gave me a prescription to fix the irritation on my face (chemical burn) He also gave me new samples of medication that would be easier on my skin. I was extremely happy with the service I received. My acne is gone, my rash was gone almost instantly and I couldn’t be happier.

Dr. Seltzer is a master. Went in with a monster 7 cm cyst on my back and he removed it in about a half hour with no residual discomfort afterwards. He knows what he’s doing and can explain it clearly. If there were more stars, consider them clicked.

Dr. Seltzer and his staff are awesome. He has helped clear up my acne while including my preferences in the treatment plan. This is important to me as well as the friendliness of his staff. Thank you!

I had adult onset acne start and get progressively worse over the years. After trying a myriad of products, I finally decided enough was enough and sought out Dr. Seltzer. He doesn’t take my insurance but it was worth the out of pocket fees. While my acne definitely wasn’t one of those horror cases, it was significantly bad and caused scarring. Dr. Seltzer had my skin cleared up in less than a month. Within 3 – 4 months it was completely gone, and I was off all oral medications. I kept with the topical treatments but now (a year later) only have to use things sparingly as needed.
I’ll agree with some of the other reviews that I wish Dr. Seltzer spent a bit more time during the consultations and subsequent visits. He comes off a bit rushed which in turn made me feel like I needed to talk quickly and not waste his time, but I understand that he probably hears the same things all day every day. I went to see him to get my skin cleared up, and he did just that. No complaints here. I also appreciated that Dr. Seltzer understood I was coming in as a cash patient and did his best to not gouge me on treatments. He offered me a laser session on a smaller area at a reduced price so that I could see if I would even have positive results.
The rest of the office staff is friendly and very efficient-​I get the feeling they run a tight ship there. Their esthetician is super friendly and knowledgeable. In my experience the treatments can sometimes run a little late and there’s usually a bit of waiting. Despite this, I actually appreciate that they take their time and are attentive, even if it causes my appointment to start or end late. Just make sure you take that into account for your schedule if you’re getting any treatments done.

Dr. Seltzer is a exceptional physician and his staff is one of the most experienced in their field. I had a great outcome and recommend them highly.

My entire family has benefited from the excellent care of Dr Seltzer and his staff. From legit medical concerns like my bro’s acne and mother’s rosacea to my laser hair removal treatments the outcome is always better than anticipated which has kept us loyal for years. If you’ve tried everything for your skin and want an honest, precise consultation that will most definitely lead to improvements exceeding your expectations then this office should be your next call.

Best experience at a doctor’s office in years. Only waited in the waiting room for about 5 minutes before getting taken to a room. Dr. Seltzer was ready to see me 2 minutes after that.
He listened to my concerns on my moles and gave me a thorough look over. Ended up taking off two funny looking moles. Always would rather take moles off for testing then leave them to chance. Very nice, thorough, and quick. Exactly how every doctor should operate.

Made an appointment to see Dr. Seltzer for acne. The initial appointment was literally less than two minutes long. Little inquiry about history, and only a glance at my complexion. I walked out with a prescription for 4 different medications, two oral and two topical. He rushed off before I could even ask how the different meds worked.
My sister had success on one of the oral medications he prescribed, so decided to give it a shot. The medication seemed to be having positive results so I called the pharmacy to refill my prescription. They informed me that there were no refills on the prescription, but that I should call my doctor to add a refill. I did, and the nurse asked Dr. Seltzer but he said I needed to come in for a followup appointment or I couldn’t get it refilled. This is not a drug that can be abused, so I was confused as to why he would not give me a refill. I figured maybe a potassium test because that is a typical and appropriate precaution for this med. I scheduled an appointment immediately but by the time I got in, I had already broken out badly because of missing my meds for 3 days. He did not do the potassium test. He claimed he wanted to see how the medication was working, but because he would not refill my prescription and I had been off it for 3 days, he only saw my breakout. When I expressed frustration he said I should have just told the pharmacy I had his permission! So ridiculous! Then he tried to placate me by telling the nurse to put lots of refills on my prescription. This appointment was even shorter than the first. Obviously extremely money-​motivated. Excuse the rant, just very frustrating.

I have hundreds of moles. Its annoying and concerning. It’s imperative I find a doctor who is thorough and experienced to check each of them. Dr. Seltzer is the doc I trust and would recommend. He was real and honest. Had a good sense of humor, and was prompt. The staff is kind and the facilities are professional. I’m sure he does wonders with aesthetic skin needs, for health needs I know I will be returning.

I hate going to doctors– but I love going to see Dr. Seltzer!
He does right what the other doctors do wrong; he doesn’t waste my time or my money. I usually show up to appointments a few minutes early, and I’m always called back to the exam room right when my appointment was scheduled. I’m never back there for longer than necessary; he and the staff are professional, pleasant, and efficient. Dr. Seltzer also never prescribes any medicine I don’t need and ensures that I only have to take the minimum necessary to treat my psoriasis (trust me, not all doctors do this). The office always make sure I have enough medicine/​topical creams and always give me rebates and discounts without my having to ask if I need more.
The office is located in a medical center, with parking available in the lot in back which is accessible off Catalina south of Green. There is a fee to park, but because the doctor is so quick I’ve never paid more than a dollar or so for parking.
In the four months I have been going to see him, my psoriasis has improved greatly. I have suffered from the condition for over 17 years and it feels good to have a doctor I can trust!
