Pasadena Convention Center

I recently attended the SCALE 14x conference at this location, and I have to say; this is one of the nicest and most flexible venues I have ever experienced. They have rooms ranging from small classrooms to one of the largest ballrooms I have ever seen.
In addition, the Sheraton hotel is part of the same complex and the Paseo Colorado is right across the street with plenty of shopping and dining options. Parking at the Sheraton is reasonable as is parking at the Paseo Colorado mall.
The only drawback is that the facility is spread across two buildings with the civic auditorium between them. This can lead to quite a bit of walking if your event uses both buildings as this one did.

This place is gorgeous! I had the pleasure of being an audience member on the White Hot Holiday Special hosted by Terrance Howard and Taraji P Henson.
It was one of the best experiences I have had on my life! The center is beautiful, it has the since of an old fashioned theatre. This was my first event here but I am looking forward to being a part of so many more.
There are also little shops as well as restaurants surrounding this center which makes the area around light up at night. It is a beautiful sight! Defiantly a gem in the great city of Pasadena.

I’ve visited this venue on a number of occasions. Everything from the Cal State University (CSU) Conference to the International Makeup Artist Tradeshow and everything in between — It is a very large space to host a convention, and if a show is hosting «In LA» often times it’s here. The space itself is large and I’ve never had any problems with ventilation and the facilities. Parking can be a challenge if you’re looking for street parking, but if you’re willing to pay you can park in the structure across the street for a fee.

I like the convention center. It is a large venue. I have been here for diffrent events. Parling can be a pain sometimes. Bathrooms are always kept clean and well if you havent been here for any events you schould check one out. Its a great venue for many diffrent tyoes of events throughout the year …

Was here for a biohacking conference. The lobby area was roomy enough to keep the sponsors /​vendors happy and there was enough of them to spill into one of the general rooms. As for the event rooms — from sound, to size, to temperature comfort everything worked well. The restrooms, however, seemed small for the size venue it is.
No comment on parking since I walked to the place from a hotel.

Day 3 at #BulletProofConference– starting with GRATITUDE just like we do everyday @ErewhonNatural!

This is a run down old place with rude parking attendants. Parking in general is confusing. Turns lead to dead ends. I asked the parking attendant to give a receipt to the car following me because I paid for their ticket and needed a receipt for work. His really rude response was «If they ask me». I guess that’s why he’s still a parking attendant. If he worked for me he’d be fired on the spot. Unacceptable. Anyways, rude guy aside, the 1 star is because this place has useless signs that lead nowhere. Attendants standing around during an event when there was traffic in the parking lot because even though the ramp that leads to the blue section only says exit and no one wants to exit so they just drive in rectangles and into dead ends which cause more traffic. Especially was annoyed when we (5 cars) were stuck and all had to make a u turn in the parking lot.

The place holds many events. From dog shows, antique shows, and other great events. I had a chance to talk with superiors in particular event services his name is Peter and he was very rude and Not helpful with the questions I asked. The location is nice though I feel it’s secured well and I don’t like the customer service from the higher management. The prices are outrageous. Good luck visiting this place.

It’s hard to judge a convention center without judging the amazing conventions you’ve seen there. I went to ScareLA 2015 at the Pasadena Convention Center.
Parking was a little tricky. We got there about 11 when the doors opened, but there was already a line of people out the door and around the block waiting to get in! The lot for the convention center was full so we ended up parking at one of the adjacent lots. Someone mentioned parking lot scams in another review. REMEMBER: Parking is your OWN problem when coming to a convention center like this. Sure, it’s great when their parking is empty, but it’s not always the case as with large conventions. So use your best judgement when parking.
Bathrooms were clean and there was always toilet paper in the stalls and extra paper towel rolls at the sinks. This is near impossible to do and I was pleasantly surprised with how clean the bathrooms were for how many people were using them.
The convention center itself was a little hard to navigate. This may have just been the convention I was at, but all of the hallways started to look the same after a while and it was hard to find people. Plus there were lines all sorts of ways and often times people would be told by staff that it was a line for something but it turned out they were waiting for something else!
The place where the panels were held was a great big room. Stage looked great and so did the 2 big monitors. Sound quality was good.
As for places to eat…
My convention had the food court thing open for business. However, the food there looked pretty nasty (nachos and french fries) so we decided to go out to eat. The restaurants across the street are nothing special and we ended up walking a little bit to find a place to eat. Remember everyone, Unilocal is your friend when trying to find a good place in the area!
I would come back to this convention center for sure. Had a lot of fun here and can’t wait for next year’s ScareLA!

Small convention venue, good for smaller conferences but I don’t see how it could host larger events. Pleasantly surprised to see so many available parking spots. Slightly confusing for one’s first visit, as there are separate buildings (exhibit hall in one, meeting rooms in another). The convention center itself looks modern enough but very plain.
A positive is that Old Town is nearby, making this location more attractive to out-​of-​town visitors.

Came here for the first time for the phamexpo.
I’ve been to Anaheim convetion and pamona convetion center.
I have to say this is my favorite so far.
Parking was easy and the staff was friendly, bathrooms where clean and the place was nice.
I loved the shopping area and all the restaurants near by.

This past weekend, I immersed myself in the wondrous world of being a girl! MAKEUP! Yay! I missed IMATS, but my one of my favorite brands promoted the PHAMExpo, and I jumped on the chance. Presale tickets online were $ 57 for each day, and a fair bit more at the door. Not only was the show completely amazeballs, but the venue is fabulous as well.
It was fairly crowded, but parking was really easy. I was expecting this place to be a little more worn down, as it is an ooolllddd building, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was very spacious, even with all of the booths, shows and people walking around! The bathrooms were super clean, and well stocked, thank goodness! A concention full of women. the bathrooms gave to work! AC also worked, something I was worried about because you know, when you read «old» the first thing you think of is «Do they have AC?!» Especially since it was a convention, and there were soooo many people! But the Convention Center was amazing! The event coordinators and the employees of the center did an awesome job working together! When I think of a convention center, I was thinking along the lines of something similar to the one in LA. No, this is not a block long glass building, it’s a bit more intimate, but still big enough to accommodate LARGE crowds.
And I promise you, this weekend… there was a LARGE crowd. But what would you expect with the likes of Too Faced, MELT, Lime Crime, Morphe, Jeffree Star, MUFE, Makeup Geek, ahh. all my favorites. The lines were very long, but the staff managed to do a great job with keeping them all organized, and moving as quickly as possible. The guest speakers area was also well worked, I thought, especially because people were getting there a bit late due to the long lines. Alas, I got to see all my faves thanks to the great planning and efficiency of the staff, the vendors and even all the other makeup addicts! Everyone worked together to help others out. The vendor booth layout was well thought out, plenty of space between each one so people were not piled in on top of each other, or forced to walk like a herd of sheep.
If you ever get the chance to attend a convention, of any kind, at this location I encourage you to take it up! I had a great time this weekend and I will definitely attend more conventions at the Old Pasadena Convention Center!

«The little old convention center from Pasadena…»
Okay, so maybe it’s not *that* old, but it is little. Don’t come here expecting some massive, gleaming, world-​class convention facility that goes on for miles. But still, it gets the job done.
I dropped by the P.C.C. a few weeks ago for a toy convention. There were a few hundred people there, so we were crammed into a small meeting space on the bottom level. Despite the relatively low turnout, there still managed to be lines to use the bathrooms. Weird.
The place isn’t exactly laid out in an intuitive way, but there’s plenty of signage to help you find your way. Also, there’s plenty of friendly, helpful staff wandering around. (If anything, they all seemed rather bored, and helping out lost tourists seems to break the montony.)
Even if you’re not there for a convention, it’s worth visiting just to take in the beautiful exterior and architecture of the Pasadena Civic Center.
(Tip: Most visitors park in P.C.C. lot or at Paseo Colorado on Green St – but both are ripoffs. Cheaper and more abundant parking can be found behind the convention center, on Cordova St.)

Wow. What an awesome center. People were very friendly. My one low thing would have been them closing the bathroom to clean it while 5,000 woman were in a conference. Just thought they would clean it before or after. With a few touch ups in between. Makes for a hard break when the main bathroom is closed.

I love the Pasadena Convention Center. To me it is Power Rangers HQ. I’ve come here for Power Morphicon in 2010, 2012, & 2014 as well as Robot Toy Fest in Winter 2013 and Winter 2014.
I usually park across the street at Paseo Colorado Parking Garage and make the short trek across the street to the convention center. I never had any issues with finding parking spaces here.
Across from the convention center is the outdoor Paseo Colorado Shopping District. It has a lot of convenient places to eat when visiting the convention center: Yard House, Rubio’s, and Exhibit R come to mind right away and are my recommendations. There is a Bank of America ATM in this shopping center, which is really convenient if you need to withdraw cash quickly. There is also a large Bank of America building 0.1 miles (about a 2 minute walk) from the convention center at the intersection of South Marengo Avenue and East Green Street.
Directly behind the convention center is the Sheraton Hotel, making it the go-​to hotel for out-​of-​state visitors attending events at the convention center.
The convention center is well maintained and an excellent venue. It is much smaller than the Anaheim Convention Center and Los Angeles Convention Center which I really like.
At times I feel the convention center staff isn’t always on the same page with the event coordinators, however I feel this is more the fault of the event coordinators than the convention center staff.
I don’t want to get into reviewing my Power Morphicon and Robo Toy Fest experiences as I want the focus of my review to be on the convention center itself. Overall I can say I had pleasant experiences at all the events I’ve attended here.
Final thoughts: Geographically, the Pasadena Convention Center couldn’t be more conveniently located. It really benefits from being centered between the Paseo Colorado Shopping District and the Sheraton Hotel as well as it’s close proximity to the Bank of America. I look forward to my next visit here.

If u r toy collector, u should totally pay a visit.
if u r looking for inspirations, you should also visit.
There are few mini events going on.
Like Critterosity was offering art tattoo on the arm! it was only $ 3 and she painted in 5 min. The paint she used she said has no harm to body.
There was also another fun event from minion me, were the artist will draw u as minion and u just pay $ 5. You can tell the artist wut pose u want or a specific request. he will improvise it. On the booth, he actually has a collection of art framed, pretty cool! i saw like streetfighter, princesses, etc…
One of my favorite booths was unicorn crafts, it has rilli cool handmade artsy ear rings and also cards!
The place overall is big, and clean. Well organized too.
But it didnt hv much food selection …
if u want to go restroom, u hv to go out of the room and come back again. Luckily the place is not too big…
They are displaying today again, so pay a visit!

I have attended a few conferences here at this convention center. This convention center is rather interesting, as there are two sides. The exhibition halls are in a separate building from the main center I guess you can say and I have attended conferences in both buildings.
Inside both buildings, have a beautiful modern feel and a great space. Definitely not an outdated look like some older convention centers that I have been to. The exhibition halls are pretty spacious and their meeting rooms are quite nice with the usual set up that any conference would need (podium, projector, excellent sound system, etc). The a/​c works just find (but may consider bringing your jacket in case it get s a bit too chilly). Restrooms here (and in the convention center building) are clean and adequately stocked and attended on a regular basis.
I have never parked at the convention center and have either parked at a nearby lot for a much cheaper price and just walked over or parked in the residential area and walked (quite a bit of a ways of a walk, but at least it’s free). But depending on the event, you can expect to be charged somewhere around $ 10-​ish for parking.
There really isn’t any food options sold inside the exhibition hall or convention center building, but the Paso Mall is right across where there are plenty of food choices that are within walking distance in case you have a break between meetings.

Such a pretty convention center in the best part of Pasadena! I’m all about aesthetics, and the Pasadena convention center is visually pleasing to my eyes compared to the LA and Anaheim convention centers. I came here for a Power Rangers convention a week ago, and it’s big enough to accommodate all the attendees, but cozy enough to recognize people you know in a crowd. It’s not that big of a convention center, but great for events with mid size attendees. It’s also blocks always from Colorado St in old town, so there’s a lot of different options to eat and explore.

I actually do love this convention over the Los Angeles Convention Center. Parking is alot easier and it doesn’t take an arm and a leg out of your pocket to pay for parking.
The exhibition halls are less crowded and doesn’t make you feel claustrophobic. I came here for two conventions and one was the power rangers convention and the other one was today for the PHAMExpo which is the professional hair and makeup expo showcasing all the new makeup people want to buy and look at for future uses in film, tv, and everday life.
Ratio to boy girl is like 10 – 1. So just come and check out the crazy techniques to make you look wonderful and girls can get their makeup done for free and pick up samples.

We went to the Mutual Trade Show (Japanese food and restaurant supply) at the Pasadena Convention Center last month, and it was awesome. In addition to the show being awesome, the venue was amazing.
The parking was easy, and the venue was beautiful, clean, and organized. In addition, the bathrooms are well-​appointed and more importantly clean. You can tell that the facilitators take pride in this convention center.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit the center, you will not be disappointed.
