Okay, I’m officially in love with this place. Their shop is super clean and cute. Right when I walked in I was greeted and he even offered me free samples. I ended up buying the watermelon with salt and chilli, Coffee and one free bag of morris mix with a Unilocal check in (it was 100g!!) Parking can be difficult because they are located in Old Town Pasadena. The candy is so good though! Definitely will be coming back!
Morris mix (⁵⁄₅)
Taste pretty good and had cute designs. The candy wasn’t too sweet and is a nice sweet snack after dinner. Little is more: D!
Watermelon, salt & chili (⁵⁄₅)
Um.where have this baby been in all my life!!! This was soooo good. I had a huge craving for Mexican candy, so I decides to give this a try. The chili isn’t too overpowering the watermelon. It was slightly salt, but you can barely taste it because of the sweet watermelon flavor. Candy wasn’t too sweet and not quite as strong as mexican candy. A nice mild version which is perfect for me.
Coffee (⁴⁄₅)
Taste very fragrant and smooth. Packaging was great and taste like creamy coffee. The only reason why I gave it a 4 is because it was too sweet for my liking. Nothing is perfect for everyone so that’s ok. My boyfriend loved it though!
Price (³⁄₅)
A bit on the expensive side. $ 6 for a 60g bag. It’s good to purchase one in a while because it is quality candy. WILL COME BACK!

Honestly, this candy store rocks. Their skill in hand-​creating all of these hard candies is beyond understanding, it is a treat in itself just to see the designs they make. On top of that the flavors are so delicious. Papabubble does a great job to keeping the sweetness just right. To this day I am yet to find a better candy shop than Papabubble.

I haven’t had the chance to try it again, but Papabubble reached out to me and offered a refund for the bag of stale candy. Although I won’t be taking the refund, I will definitely be back. The customer service definitely deserves a 5 star.

This is the best, most intensely flavored hard candy you’ll ever have. Plus the folks behind the counter will bend over backwards to make you happy. Their pride in what they make comes shining through. You can taste samples of anything you might be interested in.
We’re back in San Diego and Hubby and I are giving each other the side-​eye over the last few pieces…

Love!!! I have been coming here to get my sugar fix since they first opened. There are many selections of flavors where you can’t get anywhere else. Their candies are super cute and colorful. Each candy is like a piece of art! This place makes me happy!
Papabubble has demonstration on the process of making these tasty candies. It was fun to watch how these candies come to life. Papabubble has new management now and customer service is excellent! Eric, the manager is very friendly and helpful.

First off, when you check in the first time with Unilocal you get a free goodie bag! Now for the review, the candy is definitely not your typical candy, very gourmet indeed. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. If you see a flavor you want to try they will open a bag just for you to try. The candies are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and that is great quality candy. I would recommend trying the mango hard candy, it’s the best. If i’m ever is Pasadena again you can count on me stopping by again.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while since I tried a few flavors from when my friend bought some candy from here.
I was the only customer in there while I was shopping and the girl was busy measuring and packing candies to put into packages. She was nice and explained some of the flavors to me and gave me some samples to try. I got a 60g free morris mix with a Unilocal check-​in, 60g package of lime and chili ($ 6), and watermelon and chili 200g ($ 15). I was planning on buying two packets of watermelon and chili but it was cheaper to buy the the glass jar.
They take card. There’s a parking garage nearby.

Service was friendly, however she was on the phone the entire time until I was paying for my order. She offered samples and motioned over to the selection of candies available. For six dollars, you really don’t get much but the check in offer makes it a little more worth it. I haven’t tried any of the candies yet but they look very cute.

I have been wanting to come here ever since I first heard about them! On a trip to Old Town Pasadena, I finally got to try these cute, sweet treats! Papabubble is known for their intricate hand-​made hard candies. The candy makers of this little caramels artisans shop spent a few months in Barcelona learning the techniques from the original Papabubble!
Each cylindrical hard candy is meticulously designed with a very detailed picture or words. It’s amazing how they can get so much detail into such a tiny piece of candy!
They have a variety of fruit flavors that come in the traditional cylindrical shape or as pillows! Flavors range from classic fruit flavors like Strawberry, Orange, Apple, Watermelon, Banana, and Grape to more specialty flavors like Passion Fruit, Lychee (my favorite so far!), Mango, Tangerine, Blueberry, and Pink Grapefruit. Other non-​fruit flavors include Coffee Butterscotch, Soda, Coffee, Lime-​Salt & Chili, Yogurt, and even Ube (Taro)!
I really enjoy seeing what different Seasonal/​Special designs they have each time! Every batch is unique! Sushi, cute animal faces (panda, dog, cat, frog), holiday (snowflakes and candy canes for Christmas, pumpkins and skulls for Halloween, New Year’s zodiac designs), and many more!
In addition to their hard candies, they also make yummy soft candies! I LOVED their Strawberry Soft Candies! The texture is similar to that of a butter mint – smooth and melts in your mouth. Definitely picking up a larger bag of these next time!

— Ask for a sample!
— One free 60g bag of «Morris Mix» when you check-​in on Unilocal!— a pretty decent sized grab bag of their recent flavors!

I got the fruit mix and it was delicious! Been wanting to try the chili mango but has been sold out both times I went.

This place sells super cute customized bite sized candies! There are many flavors that they offer; from strawberry to lychee! I actually purchased the Lychee and Assorted Fruit mix and I was not disappointed! The Lychee flavor was exactly what I expected! It tasted exactly like the fruit itself! I am so happy that they are opening a location in San Francisco!

It’s totally a candy land. I got a jar of mix flavors for myself and two jars as gift.
My favorite is lychee and mango flavor. Will definitely come here again when I visit LA.

Funny story… I bookmarked this place for my next trip to Barcelona only to find out there’s one in Pasadena.
The store is located on green street very close to the entrance to doghaus & I’m warning you now, its teeny tiny.
They handmake the candy on premise & can do custom candies which is great for special occasions.
The sushi candy is sooooo cute but i love the strawberry milk hard candies & the watermelon & chili.
Staff is very friendly & they have samples at the counter to try.

Unilocal checkin! Great for hard candy. The candy is so pretty with words, shapes, pictures, and unique flavors. I got a mix of lychee and ube. The ube was really good! The staff is nice even though it was closing time and they were nice enough to sample whatever we wanted. I would definitely get some of this beautiful candy to snack on!

LOL I was just there an hour ago for my first time visit! Got the passion fruit and the mix! Couldn’t really wait til get home to eat them. Open the passion fruit one while I was driving… It is really good!!! Just pretty refreshing! A tiny bag of candy for $ 5.50 isn’t cheap but the guy working there who’s very friendly told me they only use cane sugar, water and glucose (no corn syrup).
Anyway, I’ll be back for the candy making show and more yummy candy for sure! :)

After seeing their store on LA 18 (Chinese news channel) I decided I need to come and see for myself what it is all about!
This store is all about flavorful hard candies! I couldn’t decide which one to pick! the sale associate recommend me to get the fruit mix bag to figure out which flavor i like and I also go the Mix Morris bag for free when i checked in. The sales associate also gave us some information about the store and caught my interest to make custom candies for the near future. I can’t wait to come back again! I should make it a mission to buy a new flavor every time i go there!
I would recommend this to anyone in the Pasadena area!

Papabubble is suuuper kawaii! Even though I don’t eat as much candy as before, I can’t help but want to come in here when I go next door to Copa Vida because its just that fuhreakin cute! And if you’re lucky and come in on the weekend, you can actually catch them making the candy right there! (I’m now realizing that I’ve used a lot of !‘s in a short amount of time. lol)
What I LOVE:
I love the cute, simple little designs they put in their candies; I especially love the variety of flavors they have. My favorite flavors are going to have to be the more ”exotic” ones, such as passionfruit and mango. I love how friendly the staff is and how they’re so about making sure the customer gets exactly what they want. Although it is a smaller place, I love the intimacy you feel while you’re helped one on one or while you’re watching the art being created in front of your eyes.
Really though, the only thing I’m not in love with is how easy it is to blow $ here, lol. Don’t get me wrong, you pay for what you get: good, yummy, super cute candy. :)

I don’t think enough people know about the artisan candies being handcrafted at papabubbles. There are certainly not enough people Unilocaling about it. If this little workshop were on Colorado instead of Green the foot traffic would bring crowds to browse the dainty designs in hard candy the staff creates.
We lucked into walking in minutes before 3pm on a Saturday and got to be the sole audience for the scheduled candy making demonstration. The candy makers lay out a large piece of molten candy and mix in colors and flavors. They then chop up the block and begin working it into designs. The process is a great show.
The candy is very affordable. You can get a ridiculous block of scrap candy for a mere $ 3. (Must be 1lb of hard candy from my estimate)
You can also ask the candy makers to take your own design and make you a personalized set of candy. Bespoke candy!
