So I was in therapy the other day, and the topic wandered on to the reviews on interwebs. Basically, I ranted about how reviews on Unilocal are fickle and not always true. Then Nancy went on to say something about how people don’t like to write reviews on their therapist because of social stigmas. Well, I like going to therapy, and I don’t really care who knows. Nancy Rhodes has helped me through some rough patches and helped me discover things that were holding me back. Enabling me to attack problems with a healthy mental outlook. Thank you for being my sound board for over 10 years. You rock!

If you need someone to help give a lot of insight then she is probably not the best counselor. Nancy is a good listener but seems to offer few thought-provoking questions. It may depend on what style of counseling you prefer. For me, I’d rather go and deal with any issue and then move on. I don’t want to use up valuable time and money(sessions are $ 160 each which is expensive to me) and just talk about family history and pleasantries. I think if you go to her it will take a long time to resolve any issues. This might be good for those who want to build up a trust level before sharing more deeply. I had only gone 3 times so some may say I didn’t give her enough of a chance, but I’ve been to another counselor that really got into the issue much faster and that’s what I would prefer.
