Master Automotive Towing Services

Very bad experience.
Not only did they never get back to me on the phone as they claimed they would, they had me waiting a least a half hour (or 45 minutes) in the office just to find out what was going on with my car. Seemed no one was aware of what the other was doing. Meanwhile, the gal, Erica, sat downstairs chatting it up with some mechanics.
What’s up with that!
Anyway, they ended up suggesting I get a few thousand dollars worth of extra work done. Hummm… called my brother who’s a mechanic and knows my vehicle and said that if they couldn’t pin-​point the problem in two days time, they didn’t know what they were doing. In his words; «there’re just throwing mud at it and seeing what sticks.»
Well here’s mud in their eye.
Save yourself the headache. Don’t give them your money.

my Prius would not start and i feared it was a hybrid battery issue. I called AAA and AAA sent Masters Towing. I received constant updates and the person that showed up realized he had a flat bed that couldn’t get into my townhouse complex’s driveway. He tried to help as best as he could but had to call someone else to come help, who showed up rather quickly. Both of them worked very hard to jump my car (which was parked head in, facing up against a wall and it was very hard to reach the hood) and saved me a towing cost. thanks so much!

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I brought my Honda EV4 to have front suspension work done, I was referred to them by AAA.
1) I was told that I have to pay for an estimate
2) The car was brought in on a Tuesday. They gave me a quote for new parts. I asked for them to look for used. I called on Thursday and was told that they could not find used parts. I am gathering that they did not look. It is only after I asked for a break on the price that they asked whether I was a AAA member. Then a discount was given,
3) I approved the work to be done on Thursday. i was told the vehicle would be ready on Friday.
4) By Monday I have heard nothing. I left four messages yesterday. There was no return call. I left a message Tuesday morning at 4:00AM. No return call. I just called the shop again. I was connected to the mechanic. He said that the vehicle would be worked on today. I had to ask when the vehicle would be done. He said noon. I rate I asked why didn’t return the phone call. He said it was busy yesterday. My reply was that, «It’s a phone call»
He response, «It won’t happen again, sir!»
Atrocious customer service. Don’t ask for their services. I am not surprised by the one star rating for their towing services.

Apparently these guys are contracted with AAA. I needed a tow today, called AAA and was told 30 min. Not only did I wait a hour for the truck without even a phone call for the late notice, they showed up with a truck that wouldn’t work for me (I made a request for a flatbed). The driver seemed indifferent about everything and drove off.
0 stars if I could
1 hr late/​no late notice/​wrong tow truck. Not sure how they stay in business like that.

The worst. 3 uniformed employees sitting in the office yukking it up and all 3 refused to help me with my situation.

Thank you for your followup calls. Telling me you’re never going to show up! 3 miles away. 1:19 minutes later. I called AAA to cancel. I also called the number Master Automotive called me on which Juliet told me too, and it phone rang buzy! Bad bad service.

I just called AAA 40 minutes ago, to have my car towed to a friend’s mechanic shop. Master Towing called me in less than 5 minutes to keep me updated. The mechanic showed up within the promised time frame (I feel so bad that I can’t recall his name at the moment). I told him what’s wrong with my car and he offered to take a look. My plastic lining ripped (for reasons I wouldn’t mention… I am a girl driver and we will leave it at that). He took off the lining on the spot. He saved me time by just doing that and my car doesn’t not need the tow after all.
I am truly impressed with the quick, efficient, and friendly service of Master Towing. The advantage of having AAA, they never fail in finding you the best tow service. I have dealt with good towing companies before and I can say with high confidence that Master Towing is on my top two companies. Hopefully, there will be no need for me to call one in the near future. No complaints from this little missy over here.

This review is specifically for Fernando — he was a wonderful representative for Master’s Towing! My friend’s car died in Pasadena and we called AAA for a tow. Although they took a little longer than expected (i only say this because normally AAA quotes longer ETA’s but the services actually show much faster), as soon as Fernando arrived, he apologized for the extended wait time, quickly towed the vehicle and got us to the mechanic. Parking is severely limited around the mechanic, but he even helped us secure a parking spot close to the mechanic. Fernando was even kind enough to offer to take me to my next destination although i didn’t take him up on the offer as he had another call.
Perhaps if all of Master’s representatives had Fernandos’ professionalism, the number of poor reviews would be lower. Thank you for a great experience!

I was in a bad accident over a year ago. My car was totaled and i left in an ambulance. The next day when my family went to retrieve my items from the car, they were all missing (watch, ipod, cell phone). I remember seeing my items inside my car before i had to crawl out there!
When i went back with them, about an hour later, my phone was miraculously in my center console BUT that’s all they «found» from the crash. The were so full if it and denied finding anything else.
SCREW THIS PLACE!

I was in the process of buying a used car, a 2010 SUV, I took the car along for the AAA pre purchase inspection, Robert, the head guy there, was polite and accommodating when I first called to arrange a time to come in. He and his colleague started the inspection within 5 minutes of us arriving. The garage is clean and tidy, plenty of space and equipment and looks orderly and well run. After the inspection, Robert sat down with me and went over his review of the car, which bearing in mind the inspection is only 50 minutes or so and $ 75 for AAA members, sounded very thorough. I know zip about cars but did feel reassured by this inexpensive once over. I had called other garages listed on the AAA site as providing these inspections, none could accommodate me on the same day and none would commit to a particular time frame for the inspection, which was important to the guy from the garage selling me the car. Highly recommended.

I am kind of over Unilocal in general. People who review on this site usually are on here only to complain or to hype up their own businesses. Also, the people who review stuff like food on here are ridiculous. I cannot use Unilocal as a reference for anything because of all the internet trolls and random people saying random stuff about some place that isn’t correct.
SO, as a result, I feel like I need to review some places that are really good. Master Auto’s Towing service is one. I got rear ended on the freeway super bad. My car is my hobby and it was destroyed on the freeway.
I called AAA and they sent out Master Towing. The driver got to me before the CHP or the Ambulance. He gave me his card and told me not to worry about anything. I was pretty overwhelmed and I was hurt but there was nothing else I could do.
When I got out of the hospital, I still had the driver’s card and even though it was after midnight, I wanted to go see where my car was. When I got there the night driver was SUPER cool and extremely helpful. He let me see my car and helped me with lighting, so I could take some preliminary pictures.
As stated above, my car is my hobby and I have been building it up for 5 years only to be destroyed in an instant by a careless or distracted driver. Nevertheless, it is a specialty car and it needs special attention. I told Master Towing that I needed the car towed to Santa Fe Springs. That is over 30 miles from them. Without hesitation, they told me that it was not a problem and that they would have it there in a couple hours. They also called me and the shop I was having it delivered to when they were 10 minutes away.
Having my car hit is the worst thing that has ever happened to me in regards to a material possession. This car is something I love and have toiled over for years. Master Towing took a tragic situation where I was hurt, upset, confused and just plain freaking out and they made me feel confident that my car was in good hands at all times.
Last, the place is clearly a nice family run business. When I went in to set up the tow to Santa Fe Springs, they were grilling lunch for the employees. I don’t know what other people feel but that kind of family type business means a lot to me.
I highly recommend Master Towing if you are ever in an unfortunate situation as I was.

My experience with Master Automotive Towing Services last week was the worst customer service I have ever received!
After receiving false information from the Master Automotive Towing Services dispatcher when the driver was on his way to replace my tire in a parking structure, I was naturally upset to find out from the driver that he was not able to perform the service I was promised five minutes before. Not only did the driver not apologize for the false information I was given by his dispatcher, he tried to blame it on AAA, who had nothing to do with the information I was given by the dispatcher. Moreover, the driver yelled at me and told me that he could act aggressive because I was upset about being told false information. The driver was so loud and hostile that the security guard in the parking structure came to observe the situation and asked me if everything was okay.
The driver’s hostile and aggressive behavior continued even after I asked to speak to his supervisor. His supervisor was even worse. He wouldn’t let me tell my side of the story and told me that his driver had every right to behave that way. When I asked the supervisor’s name and clarified the spelling, he accused me of not knowing how to spell. When I asked him to please not speak to me that way, he shouted that he was done talking to me and hung up on me.
This is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. And of course, I never once got an apology for being told false information.
I filed a formal complaint with AAA, and my AAA representative said that they believed the driver and his supervisor gave me fake names (Echo and Tango, respectively). Needless to say, do whatever you can to have AAA send someone else to help you.

I had a radiator problem and AAA arranged for Master Automotive to tow my car. They arrived so fast that they beat me to my car, they loaded the car quickly and professionally and gave exceptional service in every way. I’ve never had a tow go so quickly and so easily. I highly recommend them for any towing services you might need.

After leaving Pomona to travel back to the central coast, my van’s indicator lights went crazy as if they were possessed. All electronics failed. AC, radio, power everything. I panicked, as anyone might. I exited the freeway, not knowing the area, and literally stumbled upon Master Automotive. Robert, the mechanic, was so calming and reassuring. He diagnosed the problem and ordered the necessary part. He was knowledgeable, professional and very attentive to my needs and comfort level while waiting for a ride. I am sorry that others were not as satisfied, I was, and just had to share my happy and very pleased outcome. Many, many thanks to Robert :)

DO NOT DO business with this company, even if AAA sends them out. Request a different company.
Well, I was on my way out of town with a full tank of gas. The alternator went out while I was on the freeway in Pasadena. I called AAA and asked if my vehicle can be towed to my mechanic’s shop, but I would not be able to go with the tow truck. The tow truck driver took 45 minutes to travel 5.1 miles. When the car arrived at the shop it only had a quarter of a tank of gas. This tow truck driver siphoned of my tank which is equivalent to 14 gallons even after I tipped him a $ 20.00 for taking the car to my mechanic without me. I have filled a formal complaint with AAA.
I would highly recommend that NO one do business with Master Automotive Tow Service.
I guess my $ 20.00 tip was much less than $ 60 of gas they stole from me.

My car wouldn’t start this morning and after calling around to few places reviewed on Unilocal.I decided on a place to tow my car to, called AAA and the tow driver said why don’t you take it to my shop? I was skeptical of course and he said the mechanic at his place was very good and honest… In anycase, I decided to go ahead try his suggestion. First the usual, fill out paper work and so. After describing what had happened, he started to work on the car. I thought myself it was the fuel pump which was going to cost me $ 400 for an after market part, as he started to work, opened the engine compartment and opened up the fuse box, at first I thought it was odd, but I kept quietly observing. After few mins he pulls out a relay and replaces with and old he had around… Wah-​Lah starts right up! I was flabbergasted. Later he explained, sometime the fuel relay goes bad and in 15 mins I was back on the road. He compted the old fuel relay and didn’t charge me for his labor.
Thinking back, if he wanted to, he could have replaced the fuel pump and $ 600 or $ 700 dollars later replace the fuel relay switch and I would have never known. But he didn’t. That to me is integrity… I would take all my repairs, service and anything else I can think of this guy. If your in the Pasadena area, do yourself a favor and go see him.
