This place has some great food! The people who took my order were extremely nice! I got the fish burrito and my boyfriend got the carnitas burrito. Burritos were not dry at all and full of flavor. The hole in the wall places tend to be way better than those main stream places… KINGTACO *cough cough* excuse me. Allergies. you have to try this place. I’d recommend the carne asada though. It’s the best.

Okay, so 1st time I walked in there a week ago or so. I had one person that was in front of me trying to pay. I’m guessing they had some credit card machine malfunction so two staff are trying to figure it out. Here I am in behind him waiting for about 15 mins. No one said anything. I waited and waited. There were two staffs trying to figure it out couldn’t take my order? After all I did have cash and avoid the who credit card craziness. Anyways poor customer service there. Maybe I review again if I decided to go back and actually try their food.

Oh no Unilocal!I can usually count on finding a great place by the reviews but not this time. If you are looking for a sit down restaurant with a waiter, great chips and salsa, then don’t come here. You order from the menu hanging on the wall that is entirely in Spanish.(Really!!!) neither one of our tacos were special. Big disappointment.

Looks divey from the outside, but offers a huge menu of classic Mexican fare. We ate: Tacos: Carne Asada — Mom enjoyed them very much; way overate. Tacos: Cabeza. I would order the latter in a heartbeat; the meat was so soft and supple. Definitely my favorite cabeza tacos. Every taco came with a splash of red & green salsa and a pinch of onions and cilantro. Guacamole — I could do without the tomatoes(or less) and instead lime or cilantro, but those are easy fixes on my part. I appreciate the generous amount that is served. Chips & Salsa: Every time I am given chips without the scourge of salt, I rejoice. Thin, crispy and delightful with the mild green salsa and a steed of darkness for the hellfire master red salsa. Mmmm. It burns so good. Shrimp Taco — My least favorite item. It wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t order again. Cheese Enchilada — I typically judge a place on whether or not they can pass a basic cheese enchilada test. This was, without exaggeration, the best cheese enchilada I’ve ever eaten. So simple and yet so flavorful. I will be returning to Los Primos in the very near future.

Alright so let’s start by stating that this place has a huge menu and from the items I’ve tried. its been delicious. If you’re going to go with tacos, they have amazing carnitas tacos that are rivaled by few. They are as delicious as they are oily, but that’s what’s come to be expected from Mexican tacos. If you’re into seafood, they have loads of choices. As for me, I have the fish tacos almost everytime and every time, they are fantastic. Sauces are pretty good. Got both green and red, the chips are crunchy and fresh and the staff is always welcoming and will recognize the regulars. Overall a perfect place to eat Mexican food. Definitely one of my favorites!

First of all, did not see any signage of the name of this place outside, but it is across the street from Starbucks Tried 3 different meats 1) asada 2) carnitas 3) al pastor on tacos. My favorite by far was the carnitas. Best flavor of all the meats. Next favorite was the al pastor. Surprisingly my least favorite was the asada. Flavor wasn’t amazing and some of the meat was chewy. Boyfriend got the burrito and that was a gigantic thing filled with rice and beans. That was pretty good

Amazing Mexican food, make sure you try the shrimp enchilada plate and taco meat is very tender. A friendly environment and huge open seating space. Happy camper.

Food is yummy, staff is great, but $ 10 for 2 street tacos & a Coke? I’m walking 2 blocks further on this one…

Not bad but I like the tacos at Estrella better. And a side of beans is 4.50?! I don’t like that.

I will EXPANDONTHISREVIEW later. I enjoyed the Chorizo/Egg Breakfast Burrito and more dishes will be tried out here. It doesn’t beat the Lucky Boy’s Drive-In Breakfast Burrito but it gets some steam in that direction. My time here was limited but the owner said the restaurant opens at 8am — 10pm daily. Friendly staff that gets more active as the day progresses. If you’re not paying attention to where you are you WILLMISSTHISPLACE. Mandarin Garden is on the corner of Orange Grove and Fair Oaks and Los Primos is right next door [heading West Bound on Orange Grove]. Starbucks Coffee is directly across the street. PAYATTENTIONSOYOUDON’T MISSTHISPLACE.

I’ve been here twice and each time was a huge disappointment. I really tried to give it a chance because I love Mexican food(especially when it’s inexpensive & nearby), but I should’ve known by the lack of patrons that the food was terrible. I literally walk by Primos 3 days a week & it’s always completely empty. Now I know why… The food is disgusting! AMBIANCE– Unwelcoming, average decorum, a ridiculously loud TV that no ones watching(1st visit), completely silent(2nd visit) & sticky tables. FOOD– I ordered several tacos & some horchata. My boyfriend had a beef burrito. Even though the restaurant was empty, it took 20 minutes for our food to come out. The carne asada was overcooked, tough & flavorless while the carnitas smelled & tasted rancid! I sometimes get my tacos without salsa, so I guess the sauce usually masks their meats unpleasant flavor? My boyfriend said his meat was overcooked & ‘just gross’. The second time I went alone. It was the day that they make fresh tortillas, which were good but again the meat was inedible. I took two bites & got up and left. It wasn’t expensive, but it was a complete waste of money. I ended up walking down the street to La Estrella(my usual ‘go to’ place for lingua & carnitas). SERVICE– The first woman who took my order was unfriendly… She spent a few minutes talking & laughing with her co worker while I stood patiently smiling waiting to order. When she finally turned to me, there was not a smile to be seen & she acted like I was inconveniencing her(maybe because they’re not used to having any customers?). The second visit was a little better, a different woman took my order and the food came out quickly but it was terrible so who cares? INCONCLUSION: I wouldn’t recommend this place & I’m certainly never eating here again.

The food here is Best in Class! I recommend the ceviche dishes in summer. They have a variety of fish tacos, seafood dishes, as well as other standard fare. The owner had me try the shrimp ceviche & I was hooked! My buddy had a huge seafood cocktail. I’ve heard their beef & chicken are great also. If you’re in nearby it’s a must try. It’s super casual, so come for the food.

So yeah, I didn’t know that Los Primos actually had a name. I just knew it as the«Green Neon Mexican Restaurant by the Ghetto Von’s». But hey, it has a name that means The Cousins, and I think their logo is of two dudes riding a bull. So let’s ride that bull together, shall we? I always get the burrito al pastor. It is freaking amazing. It’s packed with magic and delight. You can have it regular, if you’ve already had your allowance of 8 cups of water for the day, or you can have it wet, if you HAVEN’T had your allowance of 1 cup of orange Mexican gravy for the day. I never have to wait long. They have a TV that plays Mexican movies featuring guys with huge sombreros and killer mustaches. There is an honest-to-god JUKEBOX there too, if you’d like a history lesson. There’s a mural on the wall, in case you want to imagine that you’re living in a museum with really good food and old Mexican movies. It’s fast food and there isn’t a waitstaff that I’ve ever seen. They have a dizzying array of shrimp cocktails. I don’t understand that, but maybe they host a lot of black tie events when I’m not there. You can get basically any part of a cow in your burritos. Cow tongue, cow brain, cow head. There’s gringo translations on the menu board in case you want to practice your Spanish. Want to do a lab experiment on prions, grab lunch, and then walk over to an art exhibit? Here’s your place. Anyway, I love it here.

This restaurant is amazing. I live a mere two blocks away, so whenever I am in need of great Mexican dining, this is the place for me. Their chicken burritos are not only fairly priced, but are the finest you will ever get. The customer service is congenial, the food preparation is quick, and the meal itself is mouth watering to the extreme. Look, I’m going to be frank. The kindness and the hospitality of the employees, the quality of the food, and the short wait all won me over. However, what really amazed me was the night that I stood in line behind a witch. Not an overweight, curly haired, redheaded Game of Thrones watching pagan with nineteen cats and an annual pass to the Rennaissance Fair, but an honest to God green skinned pointy hat wearing, hair-protruding-from-the-wart-on-her-nose witch. She didn’t even come in for the delicious food or wonderful service, she came in to summon a demon. And that she did. I watched as she sprinkled eye of newt and chimpanzee tears on a pentacle she drew on the floor in egg yolk. As she danced around, chanting in some ancient Mesopotamian language, I beheld the most magnificent sight I had ever laid my eyes upon; Ultraman appeared, descending from the clouds in a majestic sea of light, and he kicked that witch square in the sternum. She wept, but Ultraman danced around HER, Gangam style, and sent her back to the hell from whence she came. To celebrate, we all raised Ultraman on our shoulders(a mighty feat, considering he is over 60 feet tall) and paraded him through the streets of Pasadena, telling tales to the children along the way of how Ultraman came down from the clouds, defeating an honest to God witch and saving Los Primos. Los Primos, the greatest Mexican restaurant in all of Pasadena.

Los Primos is close to the Rose Bowl and leaving there starving we checked for mexican food nearby and had I not completly trusted the Unilocal reviews there is no way I would have gone in here. Outside looks worse then in, its pretty big and clean inside just run down. The two ladys working are great, we didn’t quite understand each other but they were nice. I had two fish tacos with a side of rice and beans and it was fabulous! I mean really damn good! My husband had a beef burrito and also really liked it. They have a huge selection, so many damn meats/body parts to chose from. Service is a abit slow but it was just the two of them making everything to order. Prices range from cheap/average like a burrito for $ 5.99 tooverpriced like a side of rice or guac for $ 4.50, also $ 4 for each of my fish tacos with one piece of fish is too much in my opinion. It was really damn good here but honestly I’ll try something else next time im in Pasadena.

The burritos are pretty huge and the good thing is that they aren’t dry either. It’s actually a little runny and will become messy eating it. The overall taste is pretty good. The carne asada didn’t really stand out. They give you chips and salsa too. Not bad of a Mexican food place.

The best asada(steak) taco that I have had to date. I like to throw around words like«best» and«favorite» left and right. So what! Reason # 1093 why I love Unilocal.I never would have found this place without Pancho V’s help.(an outstanding Unilocal author) Cati-corner to corporate America’s business as usual, AKA, a shopping mall that houses a Von’s and a Starbucks, this place could be easily missed. Don’t miss it. I am a huge red meat fan, but I shy away from the steak taco. SO much can go wrong friends. SO much. I know what I am getting when I order a petite fillet and often save my red meat encounters for the choice cuts to spare myself from a misery that you might relate to. In the wide world of ‘what ifs’ proposed, WHATIF? I never tried the steak taco here. Just imagine! No. I am a woman. I have changed my mind. Do not imagine. Those would be sad days indeed friends. I would tell you that they have an extensive menu at the register where you may place an order and pay a modest sum to dine in or take out. I would say that they provide cozy, albeit worn booths to sit in without waiter service, allowing you to tip at your discretion. I might tell you that there is usually free street parking right in front of this business on Orange Grove. I might tell you that the breakfast looks as good as the many varieties of tacos that I have tried so far here. I might tell you of the numerous times I’ve been back since first trying this place. But I won’t I will simply tell you that here lies my all time favorite steak taco in LA. Where no such inedible bite has vexed me thus far. Where the perfectly seasoned leanest steak is ladled lovingly into a fresh corn tortilla and it is a masterpiece. I will advise you to order this single item or a few of them and a soda. You will exit here full. How much will this run you? Under five bucks. «Screw you Subway!» *insert a little laughter* Trust me. You will thank me. Like I am now thanking Pancho V.:-) Gracias Pancho!

Since finding this little place I’ve been back several times but only for Tacos I know your not surprised. But I wanted to check out their breakfast, I did not notice a Breakfast Burrito on the menu so I asked and was told just tell me what you want and I’ll make it for you! So my Wife ordered the Chorizo & Egg Plate I stole a taste and wow it was good, the chorizo and eggs were flavorful and not greasy. The Rice and Beans are also cooked to perfection, I just love this place. Breakfast Burrito I asked for Bacon, Eggs, Potato’s, Cheese and Salsa Hmmm I did NOT ask for sour cream! and they put too much and made the burrito messy and really killed the flavors. 3-Stars for this burrito, 5-Stars for the chorizo con huevo
