Tarek Shawky began his legal career nearly ten years ago as a public defender. He served as a Deputy Public Defender in both Riverside and Los Angeles Counties before starting his private practice. As a solo practitioner he can focus his skill and attention on fewer clients and provide the best service available.

Over the last decade I’ve learned how to win trials and how to negotiate the best results for clients. I know how to reduce bail, get clients released OR and provide creative, alternative sentences that keep my clients out of custody. I know how to navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system in order to secure the best possible outcome in an otherwise unfortunate situation.

In law school I interned with the Public Defenders Office and soon decided to pursue a career in criminal defense. I served countless satisfied clients as a Deputy Public Defender in Riverside and Los Angeles Counties. I received my J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law and was elected President of my class. I also attended UCLA where I received a B.A.

With my experience in advocacy and passion for defense I have the knowledge, skill and dedication necessary to ensure the best outcome every time.
