Couple’s Counseling — Pasadena

When clients come to see me for the first time, it’s usually because they feel out of touch with their values, ambitions, insightfulness, creativity, passions, resilience and relational generosity. And so my focus as a therapist is to help clients wade through feelings of uncertainty, stress, anxiety, sadness, depression, conflict, resentment and hopelessness, so that they can feel more like themselves again.

If your exposure to social pressure, injustice, stress, oppression, hurtful relationships, betrayal, or trauma has you feeling cynical about your life or your relationships, I have a lot of professional experience helping people just like you sort through all the messiness.

Whether you call it therapy, counseling, or consulting, I facilitate productive one-on-one conversations with my clients, and also facilitate productive conversations for couples.

Unlike other therapists, I carefully consider any experiences my clients may have had with oppression, discrimination, racism, objectification, marginalization, and subjugation. Because of this, my way of conducting therapy is often described as progressive with a focus on issues of social justice.

Meet the Business Owner

Lance T.

Business Owner

Through thousands of hours with clients, I recognized that people heal when people engage each other in ways that restore our dignity, our humanity, our voices, our sense of justice, our sense of wonder, our values, our integrity and our soulfulness. These insights form the basis of Restorative Engagement Therapy.

The aims of Restorative Engagement Therapy include:

1. Restoring clients’ capacity for healthy interpersonal relationships.

2. Rightfully restoring clients’ life experiences into a proper historical context of resiliency.

3. Restoring the self-regulatory capacity of clients’ neural circuitry.

4. Restoring clients to their dignified-selves by addressing the moral-injuries that underlie traumatic experiences.
