History
Established in 2015.
La Chona Meat Market was started by a couple of kids with an itch to do business. Owner Mahdi and his girlfriend Elena moved from New York to Houston, Texas to look for business opportunities.
Six months after moving, they found themselves painting walls, working twenty hour days, and engulfing themselves into the Mexican culture.
Being perfectionists, nothing was good enough but the best, so right from the beginning, the owners’ focus to make sure we carry the best quality meat offered at lowest prices.
Even though the road has been tough at times, Mahdi and Elena have managed to keep their cool and their committment to quality and excellence.
Today, they spend their time managing La Chona Meat Market while being very active in the community.

La Chona Meat Market is named after a very small town nicknamed La Chona located near Monterrey, Mexico (where Elena’s family is from).
